I give this thread one day... But good work for being busy mission-making bees, people!

Sickboy for president? Nah. Sickboy for GOD! -
From the sound of things, I think I'm going to much prefer ArmA's control style - and also, don't knock BIS for changing something. If all the things that a few people are complaining about were changed back, ArmA would just be OFP with better graphics. I welcome the changes and improvements in ArmA, and I believe that whatever decisions BIS has made, it's all for the best. And please use some more punctuation, POISON. Half paragraph sentences aren't welcome here.

This is, simply put, the best mod for OFP. The models and textures of the new units are of ArmA quality, and the missions kick ass. I especially love the "Operation Redhead" campaign - there isn't another one as good (and bloody hard) out there as it. I give this mod ten thumbs up!

Dem-o *clapclapclap* Dem-o *clapclapclap* and further protesting chants... Nah, I don't care. I'll have it in two weeks! BIS: Who cares about a few bugs and floating tanks ( ) at the moment, what I want to see is some AI improvements in the first patches. THEN the bugs. Thank you!EDIT: The in brackets is a link

To be honest, I don't care about bugs in games (if they don't make the game unplayable). I mean, I even played and enjoyed Boiling Point...

lol, love that pic (Except for the apostrophe... Grrr )

I agree that big cities are only useful if there are large forces fighting in them. But I also think that big cities are a must whatever the case. I want big cities. Give them to me. Mwahahahahahahahahaha Edit: Has anyone ever noticed this gargantuan number underneath the text box to write replies in? "Maximum message length in characters: 1024000" Seems a bit pointless to have a limit that big to me.

Hey... I'm positive I replied to this topic the other day... Where's it gone? Yeah, the blog is as dead as a dodo. Unless it's going to be updated in the next couple of days, it's not worth keeping this thread stickied.

Correction: 5 huge posters of naked women (although Jessica Alba is still preferred)

It looked pretty awesome to me.

One of the biggest problems that people have with the AI, especially the more "mainstream" (although definitely us too), is not how groups act, or how individuals act with strategy and tactics, but rather the AI's slow reaction time, their "floatiness" when moving, the strange "360 degree prone turn" (and its counterpart, getting up from prone while doing a 360) and, basically, the AI with small scale matters. If ArmA had AI that handled CQC and reaction times (and got rid of the "floatiness" and 360s) as well as it does larger operations, then it'd be getting high 90%s in reviews. This should definitely be BIS's next goal - Making the AI more "human".

That's the thing with BIS games - "It'll be alright in the long run", to quote Redgum (Aussie band from ages ago ), even if we want it all now. Look at OFP - it just kept on getting better with age, unlike most games that die out after a few months. It's because everything in ti is moddable - BIS gives us the base, and we work it from there. I'm planning on joining in next year - I'm going to be doing a year 10 3D course. BIS games are moddable - and that's why we all love them. EDIT: Once again, this thread has gone wildly offtopic... More videos, please!

This idea sounds great, now all that needs to be done is... Everything else P.S. Love the photoshopped sahrani

Placebo's going to have a spaz attack over this... But I do agree, to a certain extent. BIS should be pushing the publishers to get a demo out there, it'd do wonders for sales of the ArmA. I remember back in the day when I first tried the demo of OFP. I'd never even heard of it, but I fell in love instantly, and I must have completed that demo about... 50 times, at least. The demo is what made me buy OFP. I'm sure there are hundreds, or even thousands of people who would buy ArmA if a demo came out around now. It's always good to make people wait for something - Even if they already have a taste of it. A demo would be the taste - The period between demo and release would surely make many people excited about it, and tell everyone they know, who would also become so and then tell everyone THEY know about it etc etc etc... It just makes so much sense from a "BIS and the publishers get massive wads of cash in their pockets" point of view.

Speaking of gods, I just ordered ArmA!!!!!!!! Yay!!!! I'm expecting to get it in about a week... I'll try and make some videos (I haven't got the registered thing of Fraps though, so I think it only allows ~30 second vids) and take some pictures for everyone! See you on the battlefield! (For anyone who wants to know, I ordered it from here, and yes, the site is in English and I'm planning to do that thing to make the game's text ['cept briefings] in English)

I've only ever played OFP CTI singleplayer, but I still love it to bits To me, the ArmA CTI sounds just as good, and eliminates the hassle of base management (if anyone says "not a hassle, blah blah blah", I don't care, people, it was a hassle) as well as the craziness of base building (civvies running around and doing random things to crumpled pieces of paper till they stopped being crumpled... wtf). Also, I just plain like it. Good work, BIS, you've taken a popular concept and not been afraid to put your own spin on it

Already answered many times on the forums. There is no more limit on squad size 200 man squad, here I come What sort of amounts of lag could one expect with 200 players on a multiplayer server?
-
Could we get back to videos of ArmA now? I mean, umpteen pages of that friggin' FRAPS thing is getting on my nerves. I really want to see a large infantry battle, maybe one in a city and one in an open area... A few hundred men, on each side
-
That's awesome... I bet I'm going to end up studying this until ArmA comes out :P
-
I want it for Christmas And a 7.62mm ammo box would be cool. NO STARFORCE. And a 7.62mm ArmA logo bullet I can't wait until Q1 2007... YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO US!

And eagles and things! Ah well, whatever the case, it won't be long till sheep-boy makes some animals (mainly sheep). Or, if he doesn't have modding 5|<iLLz then someone else will. But still, there should be some animals somewhere...
