HepCat's MARPAT soldiers are awesome! Congrats on having the first "big" AddOn for ArmA!
-
What we really need is a "GTAIII" style dynamic people creation thing, where the people are generated only in a very local area and then deleted after the player has left that area, and have different kinds of waypoints and density depending on, for example, whether it's the open countryside or in a crowded city.

How to play CZ/GER version completely in English
Timblesink replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
If you wanted, Sickboy, I'd be happy to go through a bunch of text files of your translations, correcting spelling and whatnot. -
I agree, it's much more n00b-friendly for people like us
-
Well said, mate. I agree whole-heartedly. And since I couldn't find a better place to put this, I know what'd make the AI better - more individuality. The AI members of a squad act as one in OFP and ArmA, but they should act as individuals who are being lead by the squad leader. This may already be coming into play with VBS2's Agent AI, but I'm not totally sure what that's all about anyway. My advice to BIS - More Individual AI For ArmA.

You're always on top of everything, Sickboy, well done! -
Whatever the case, "Troubleshooting" is hardly the topic to post stuff like this in.

So what, unless we want to sing it's praises we shouldn't post? Last time I checked, people are entitled to their opinions. You like the game, some of us don't (In it's current state)! Don't take it so personally. Everyone has an opinion and not everyone shares yours. E You don't like it, you don't like it, but we don't want to hear about it.

Winter Sahrajev? I don't envy whoever would have to retexture that monster
-
Probably not, seeing as that would be re-distribution of BIS files... But I think I remember Placebo saying if the files didn't directly help warez-ers or people who didn't own the game legit, it'd be fine. Dunno, though...

To the people who are playing ArmA, how is it?
Timblesink replied to evilnate's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Your incorrect in your information,in bf2 when your character moves, their entire body moves, this means weapon, view, all that. And unless you have AA set to have crosshairs centered, then you should experience it like OFP. Actually, in BF2, when you turn quickly, from the first person view it will stay centered and you won't notice anything (unless you really pay attention, where you'll notice it actually stops for a second to let the rest of the character's body catch up), but looking at someone turn, you'll notice the top part of their body turns before their legs do. -
No generalisations, of course Iunno, but that would be good... Cool vid btw
-
Don't take my word for it, as I don't have ArmA yet, but I'm pretty sure that's the texture level of detail changing, so in the distance it gets lower resolution and nearer to the player it's high resolution, saving processing time and whatnot. I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure this is the case.

Heh, little old granny USMC truck drivers
-
I'm pretty sure that boats can go up small hills, but lose momentum pretty fast... And that vid was funny as! Although a bit wacko

disabling weapons tracer with a mod ?
Timblesink replied to stisoas's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I read somewhere about a bug in your mod, apparently someone tried doing that and it didn't work... It was mentioned in Cameron McDonald's review. Can we take this request seriously now? Cos I'd like to be able to have the option if your "mod" doesn't work for me either. -
That looks awesome!

Sickboy, you and your team never cease to amaze. -
Cool idea! P.S. Spoock, did you ever realise that in the last "scene" of your sig (the bit saying "Small camp of USMC" or something) the truck and the car in the background are going backwards?

It doesn't change the voices, only the text of the briefings and overviews (plus all that other crap ). Say, if I've got the CZ version and I've already downloaded 0.3, is there much point in getting 0.4? Is there anything new apart from the German patching? -
I feel so sorry for the people who have to wait until Q1 2007. I live in Australia, but I ordered ArmA over a week ago. I can't even wait 1 more week to get it, let alone 3 or 4 months. I want it nooooooooooooooooooow I guess I'll just have to wait... BUT GOD I DON'T WANT TO!

We are not worthy enough to be in sickboy and his team's presence.
