This mission is the culmination of everything that OFP should be. God himself couldn't make a better mission for it than this. I demand Abandoned Armies 2 for ArmA!

Y'know, in the time spent signing this thread we could have made better animations -Signed again

Liberation 1941-1945: Patch 1.08
Timblesink replied to RN Malboeuf's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
1 very slight problem with the mod is "rifle" being spelled "riffle", like in "Mosin's riffle" but I don't care that much. It'd be nice if you could fix it, but I'm not fussed. EDIT: Oh, and one other thing that is pretty important, could you tone down the "shellshock" whistle? By a lot? Because right now it's so high pitched and loud that it hurts. Thank you! -
Looks like oblivion from that distance, which could be seen as a compliment Exactly what I was thinking - Maybe we need some magical creatures with this pack! (I'm only kidding a bit, it'd be awesome to see a bunch of scamps running around then annihilating them with a heavy MG ) Oooh, and maybe some tribal warriors with spears and stuff? Of course, you could only do any of that with Oxygen 2... Why won't BIS release it!!!

After looking at www.buyarma.com, I can honestly say that I would never give them any of my money, even if they were promising eternal life. Spelling mistakes, occasional poor English and a very cheap and as someone said "a la geocities" look do not do anything good for potential buyers. Obviously this guy is just going to the shops, buying a few copies and shoving them in the postbox... Unless he can't be bothered. Only buy things from good sites that you know you can trust. I bet $50 the next post is a mod closing this topic. EDIT: Desertfox, I think you should edit that guy's personal info out of your post up there...

Liberation 1941-1945: Patch 1.08
Timblesink replied to RN Malboeuf's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
If this mod were a woman, I'd never stop making love to her. Easily the best mod for OFP, in fact I just re-installed OFP for this mod alone! Professionalism - 10,000,000,000/10 Gameplay - 10,000,000,000/10 Gfx - 10,000,000,000/10 Missions - 10,000,000,000/10 Overall - Too much to fit here/10 -
That link you gave links to a 1x1 .gif picture Maybe it doesn't matter that you can't see a minuscule picture?

Another big problem with the AI in CQB is their dogged determination to stay in formation - Even when under fire. Instead of trying to stay in an exact line, and take 1 step forward when the commander takes 1 step forward, they should act as individuals with the commander just there as a guide, telling them what to do but not how to do it. Just my $0.02.

Like the French ever won a war.

Well? It's been like a month, and it looked almost finished from those videos...

How about an Airsoft pistol!!! Or better yet, an R/C BMP that fires BBs!!!
-
The problem is there are no "s, and when I add them they get removed when I click "Ok" for some reason.
-
When I try to do that, it just stops the shortcut from working... There are no "s around the target like the OFP shortcut, and adding something after the target without having the "s makes it just not work. Any ideas?

How to play CZ/GER version completely in English
Timblesink replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Agreed, could a mod pin this? It just keeps getting dug up anyway... -
Here's a question for all you people who think that BIS should only put an AK-47 and an M-16 in Game 2 - Why can't BIS give us a wide array of weaponry right out of the box? I'd like to see many of those weapons included, even if it's just for coolness. Oh, and just because some of those guns are in CS doesn't mean they aren't worthy of a re-make by BIS. CS is still a bloody fun game even if you don't have to line up your shot for a minute beforehand (even though you actually do have to, but not as much as in OFP/ArmA).

That RTS mod looks awesome... Just imagine how many mods are going to come from that as a template! ArmA ftw!!!!1!

Do you want the 'Psycho Slayer' in ArmA ?
Timblesink replied to 5133p39's topic in ARMA - USER MISSIONS
I would play it with you, but I'd just lag out the server Will it be single-player friendly? -
3 boxes a good ping my arse, I've almost permanently got a ping higher than my tax bill even with 3 of those asshole boxes laughing at me. EDIT: But then again, I am in Australia, and no-one can be arsed to make us a server yet

who like the lean left and right for infantry
Timblesink replied to Dudester's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
I love that word It's fun abusing AWP3r C@mp1Ng n00bs in CS:S, but a very large part of the point of ArmA is slowing the battle down, because IRL (which is what it's trying to replicate), people don't (often) run around shooting madly. Season's Greetings! -
I don't think he's talking about the "free" aim, I think he's talking about the aiming "draginess", which I agree with - It's as though I'm "dragging" the weapon with the mouse rather than aiming with it.

Whenever I put shadows on, even at the lowest level, I get a "trail" left in the shadow when something moves in front of it, then away. E.G. O Me O Unit Shadow /|\ /|\ | /\ /\ | Then, when the unit moves away: Me No Unit Shadow with "trail" imprinted in it My specs: 2.6Ghz Processor (I'll be damned if I know what kind) 1.5 Gig of RAM (see bracketed comment above) ATI Radeon X1600 PRO 512MB DDR (I only know that cos I have the box) ArmA Czech version 1.01 My Settings: All my settings are on Normal or lower Edit: It seems that it only happens to shadows from foliage, like bushes and so on, which the shadows for are also waaaaay too dark, not to mention they give HUGE performance hits. Screenshot Edit the Second: And at full shadow quality, we get this... Screenshot the Second

Yeah, I'm hoping that dynamically changing sound that changes with distance is going to be implemented in a patch soon, because right now you can hear a helo from the other end of a runway as if it were right on top of you. P.S. ArmA arrived yesterday! Yaaaaay!
-
Most likely the more stuff will be things from patches, and of course all versions will get the same patches. The English version will start from a later version of ArmA, although the German and Czech releases will have the same patches. If you order the German or Czech ones then you'll have it sooner, and the English patch makes it about 99% English, with only the reporters' voices in a different language, although there are still the subtitles. There are bugs in the current versions of ArmA, but they will be solved by the time the 505 Games version is released. Personally, I think it's worth getting it now - Just I'm still waiting for my order to get here...
