The Gnipper

Ive got probs. Ive recently reinstalled OF on my new WIndows ME system - specs: AMD 1.4ghz 256mb RAM Matrox Millenium G400 32mb GFX Windows ME (fully upto date) Now when i finish a mission im put straight back to the windows desktop - no error message. So i tried to install a patch but that does the same! The actual CD is in the drive and the logo comes up but thats it! Please someone help me! Im at a loss! (it used to work fine b4 i upgraded - is this an ME problem?)

on the original installation - it wont let me install patches either so im on bog standard first version!

Ok, so i used to play OF on my W98SE machine fine (bit slow due to processor etc. etc.) - its an original . Then i upgraded to ME - new HDD etc. Now ive re-installed OF but when i complete the mission the game throws me back to desktop. Ah. i thought - i need to patch the game! So i got a copy of the 1st upgrade and tried to install it - with the OF cd in the drive. It whirred and up popped the logo - then nothing - back to desktop. This is really starting to annoy me cos i cant get past the tank training mission!!!!! My specs are AMD 1.4ghz processor 256mb ram Matrox Millenium G400 32mb GFX card Windows ME (fully updated). If anyone can help me you'll make my Christmas! Thanks in advance
