It would be nice if BIS made it so when you setup your characters, appearance, voice etc you could choose default loadout, and characters skin. But they don'. You get glasses and voice and face. I just played the E04: Jackal single mission. It was good. But I was not as engrossed as I could have been because I was some guy with a weapon loadout that I don't use. (although good, not to my liking and not even close to the guy I have been playing for years in my LAN environment) So I was thinking I will edit this and... Man that ends up being a lot of manual work for every misson. Unpbo, , edit, then put it back and repbo it. That made me think. I wonder if someone could make something that you could fill once with yours or your teams loadout (based on name I woudl guess) and be done with it. So I am here. I want more of ME or what I visualize my avatar to look like when playing single and private lan games with my buddies. We play mostly the big User MP missions. I define the loadouts in the init of each soldier and manually change each solder to the skin each enjoys. ANd there is not one of the 9 players that says, AHHH what ever. Each one wants his character represented by a particular skin and loadout. My solider is below in every game mission I manually edit. Is there a way to create an override PBO that will put your character and loadout in any mission you play? (His appearance, voice, and equipment.) Some points I do recognize. I realize that these loadouts would be addon dependent and that would make this not usable outside a particular players Group\or even own system. I also see that this loadout might wreck certain missions or make some even completable because you might need 5 detpacks like in the Jackal mission(of course it was so well written they planned for not having enough and placed det packs strategically around the mission so you could replenish if you liked) But is it possible? You might have said what version you are using before, but if not, What version are you using? There is a mando version. use that, or download and install mando. It does stuff like that and more. The more part you might or might not like. So short answer is yes, use the mando version. -

That is good to know Mandoble Thanks We are playing on Fallujah1.1 and even on my I7 960 OC'd to 4.2 Ghz SLI SSD OCZ 2 Vertex drive only running AO CB ARMS the TV system is almost useless. It is worse then freeze frames. I have tested on other islands and it work super smooth and super fast but on the Fallujah maps it is not even worth using.(for the most part it is only to play around because most of the combat is street level building to building. Not worried about balance because most of the time there is 3 of s on a private server getting our butts handed to us. so balance is not an issue. Does http://www.telefonica.net/web2/mandoble/mma_readmefirst.html cover all vehicles in Mando Missiles? If it doesn't. Is the AH1 BAF apache covered by MMA? Having no luck locking targets with monocle. Second Question if I wanted ONLY the Air console and NOTHING else from MMA is that possible? Vanilla BIS for everything else? (Pretty Sure the answer is Yes but before I start slamming about my server I want to make sure I understand what I am reading Thanks -

By Thundering I love this pack. Robert H is it possible to get a bipod added to the ERB M14? I love that weapon, but the kick on it at range with out a brace is fierce. I am not a weapons expert. I am a gamer. I have googled it and there appears to be a lot ERB's with a Bipod. I use ACE and without a set it I lose track of my round. I carry a sand bag around but when I am on a roof I can't fill it up. If this has been asked already forgive me. Thanks so much for your FANTASTIC WORK. -

Peeps coming to you once more. The ammo crate that is created at the flagpole. I want to move it, or duplicate it. I have gone to it in game and it is called US Special Weapons. But just placing one of those does not duplicate what is really in it at the flag pole so I am guessing it is a special XENO crate. I would hazard a guess that to move it I just need to find the name and move it like mia389 showed me how to move the AI Hut. Any assistance would be VERY much appreciated. -

NukeRat are You SURE it is not a PEBKAC error? When the new Chutes came out my fellow clanmates did a LOT of complaining that the chutes where not opening. Funny I never had an issue and would always get spot on and I am not a chute expert by any stretch. Or they would suddenly separate from the chute and really after WAY too much technical trouble shooting I had a LAN party and saw these people where actually not pulling their chutes early enough or CUTTING their chutes away right after they pulled them. Just be aware it could be that and nothing technical with your server or mission. Keep us advised. -
Shezan74 WOW My Small group heard about this Map through a Domination Mission WO1-Smokey[uSSOCOM] made for it. All we can say is AWESOME. It is so great moving under cover of the buildings, going in and out of them, up and down. It is fun but hard flying a little bird thought the streets. Thanks (cant wait for it to be updated with OA buildings)I think that was in your update plans.

This is in Smokey's Dom Falloujah. Works like a charm. Whole mission is available for download at Armaholics. Can't say enough good things about this edition of Domination. Only thing I did was add a random IED and person to the city. (Hope Smokey doesn't mind me putting this here. No I did not have to. In this mission it appeared. I did add #define __AI__ to my x_setup.sqf as well on top of all the other things you said. You did stuff for me in seconds of me cutting and pasting your work that I had fiddled and faddled with for hours over the last couple weeks. The engineer addition is AWESOME. I had given up on that. I will either pay you back some how or pay it forward. Thanks again. JUST AWESOME. With this the AI actually heals you if you go down. It is so worth playing Dom by yourself with some AI and the Mando Air console. Thank you thank you thank you. -

Is anyone willing to look at my Modded Fallujah Domination by WO1-Smokey[uSSOCOM] and show me how to add AI to it? Or tell me how to take a West Ace Revive and change it to West ACE WOUNDS AI? I had to update the mission.sqs file changing the name of the map because of the updated Fallujah revision. I tried making the changes in the setup file and ran it but noting happened so I am thinking that Smokey modded it quite heavily. Even if you can point me at what is needed for AI. The Marker is on the map just like on other Dom versions. It is just for me a few buds to hack around on. Nothing pubic. Most of the time at most there is two players on so we really do need AI support. Thanks if you can. -

Conflicted with another addon i had. got rid of that and works like a charm. Was an easy choice, Roberts addon or.. GONE. Thanks for your AWESOME work. I love the M14 EBR Wow. I never leave base with out it. Any chance we can get the bi-pod added so i can rest it on the ground in ACE? A fabulous release Robert. Thanks so much. -
Sounds Great and has my vote MaxP. Fire up some Canadian DLC. I LOVE both DLC's that have come out thus far. Missions are great, units are great, weapons fantastic, and engine improvements\tweaks and bug fixes are great as well. Keep it up. How about some German DLC units and equipment as well.(seeing as the Canadians deploy Leopards) And the excellent German BW-mod is dead. Maybe improve the UAV in multiplayer along with a new DLC or something along those lines. I would pay for that. Yes I would pay for improving my game even further then it is. I don't like the other games out there so why not give my money for even more stuff from the developer I do like. It already does things no other game allows. IMHO. Keep up the great work BIS.

ATTN NOOBIES! - New to ArmA II or OA - Here's the place for your questions

spirit733t It is very daunting isn't it. Okay Start with the really slick updater that Sickboy made. http://dev-heaven.net/projects/six-arma-updater/files Download and install that. Then Run the Six Updater - GUI. It will launch a cmd window(black window and do a bunch of stuff.. WAIT for it...... Then another cmd window launches Ruby.exe Then wait....Wait for it... Then a Browser Window appears. Six Updater Suite it is titled. Is should auto detect that you have A2 OA - A.C.E. in the Present window. (If not you have it installed incorrectly) hit the Sync button if you want to be sure it is updated or not.(this just looks at what you have on your system) under Optional Preset Overrides -Action optioin you can click where the white is (literally take your mouse and click beside the words Install update and start game) and it will drop down options. i choose install or update. Now Looking at that whole screen again look over on the right you will see many words. Ignore them until you get more familure. Just look for @ACE @ACEX @ACEX_RU @ACEX_SN @ACEX_USNavy @CBA it will have it in red if you need it green if you are up to-date. Looking Back on the left side of the browser window. leave the rest untouched for just playing ACE. lower down Under ACTIONS hit the Execute button This starts the update process. It can take a while so go do something. Another CMD window opens and starts scrolling what it is doing and updating and skipping. Once this is all done you go back to the Sync button we talked about above and hit it. The stuff on the right should be green. unless it is disabled (which some are because they are not compatible with what you have installed.) Green is Good. That means you have an up to-date ACE. Then launch the game, go in to Expansions from the main window and put check marks beside all the items I listed above. It will tell you to reboot and when it does you will see new awesome ACE screens, with the ACE stuff down the right side of the screen with the versions at the bottom. There will be a ton of missions you can play under single player. http://ace.dev-heaven.net/Advanced_Combat_Environment and look on the right for information on ACE(there is a HUGE amount so take it slow) And Post questions after searching in the ACE thread http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=113797 Welcome and good luck It takes some work but it is so worth it if you succeed. That is why I don't complain any more(Yes I was an ignorant whiner way back when. Too used to COD where you HAD to run the trench and only the trench, but BOY could you run it fast) about some LOD issues. HA NOTHING. No Hampster maze for YOU. I just started fiddling with the Module (F7 Key) in the editor. Town Construction Set. Plop a few down where you think they should be in the editor and then go there (in chopper I would advise not car)(At least I think more then one works) Builds Towns on the spot. Ven I honestly believe there are lots of changes to 2.54 just by the differences I have seen in play testing over the last couple weeks. I would advise you use 2.28 or go over to the ACE thread and ask there. I have been looking for a list of differences between 2.28 and 2.54 and haven't found a definitive list, but I can tell you using Notepad ++ and Comparing the two sets of ini's they are even remarked and scripted differently. Ask yourself this. Why 2.54 and not and older version? I did and couldn't find a real answer so I am not back to editing 2.28 that works much better to the way I am used to and Like. Good luck. Well I was reading else where that Engineer was disabled in lastest Domination because of BIS Engineer. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1815773&highlight=Engineer+disabled+Domination#post1815773 If that is TRUE, can some one that knows point me to what was remmed out if it is that easy? I prefer the FAKE Dom engineer for my small group of friends that play together. seems like we are doing nothing but getting small amount of damage and going down and having to call in air taxi or slog it all the way home. Find if you have that kind of time, but I am what I would call a Dad warrior. 2 small kids, not as much time as I once had and want to spend more time enjoying the game and less walking. Could my issue be I am using the co@30_Domination_2_54A2_West_ACE_OA that I extracted out of ACE? Should I be looking over at ACE to see if ACE has disabled engineers? Well that is it. Version 2.28 works like a top. So I will stick with that version for engineer. Thanks for listening. And TB if you do release i would love a copy just to play around with on my home server? Thanks
