Probably works in perfect world, probably not too well and long in OFP scene. I've seen that in one certain... let's say Nordic OFP site, people just used to vote negative because of certain person's personality - not the content of posts. Similar behaviour (let's call it "hunting") is nowadays less often seen on this forum... If you know what I mean, if not then nevermind. About post count and custom titles I have to agree with you. Useless überscheiße.

Ummm sorry to say you're wrong. It is GrimErazer & co who are working on that "Lapland War" project. It is told to be island and campaign using units/stuff from FDF Mod and Inv 44. That also means it is only for OFP - not Arma. That explains why it was posted in the 'ArmA - Addons & Mods: Discussion' thread then... It was actually moved to Arma A&M:D from Off-topic. -

No, just like the rest of OFP mods, FDF Mod does not work on Armed Assault without some rebuilding by mod dev team. And after all, "direct conversion" isn't probably the best way, some of our graphics need a little upgrading... -
Oh Adam please, wasn't that going to be our mod team's biggest surprise? PS. We need modding tools soon, please.

Yup, very good idea! Own channel for dead ones would be so great. Maybe even option to prevent dead from communicating with living ones (spooky! Of course we can do it in old way and alt-tab to IRC...

And perhaps a few more press demos to totally random people who have the skill to register a domain name and put up a CMS... (sorry, couldn't help myself there) Exactly, that seems to be the current trend. But I don't mind if ArmA finally hits the shelves before Santa's revenge days.

DirectPlay is/was part of Microsoft's DirectX. In case of OFP, DirectPlay allows the use of OFP's built-in voice communication system. About possible differences in performance, I don't know. I've been fine with DP server for years now. It works good enough. Of course sockets is the choice for non-windows server platforms. I also think that both DP and sockets use UDP

Weird placement radius problem

Yup. I did some testing too. When trying to get a "random placement" with all its range inside the forest, it always starts at middle. But when the placement range has open terrain, then it works like it should. Maybe it can't find a place for unit(s) or something. The Boat test: Looks like the range doesn't work in open waters, so same like with forest. But when the range has some flat open land inside it, boat will start there. Tested with both plain vanilla OFP and FDFMOD and with different islands (Desert Island, Everon, Kolgujev, Suursaari). Didn't notice any difference between mods or islands. Strange... Â -
Please don't get this offensive or so, but are you trying to walk through houses? I bet you can walk through any OFP building when conditions are favourable and you try hard and long enough. Well, I tried that myself and yes I could walk through one brownish fish hut lookalike building. Took a little time to find "the right spot" but after that I could just walk through. Other buildings I tried, didn't give any result of wall breaking. But to be honest, I don't spend time running against buildings when playing, I spend my time more often avoiding the hot heavy metal from Urals meeting my poor virtual soldier. In case you like to discuss about these "building problems" more precisely or have some solutions for them, feel free to PM us (mail/ICQ/MSN works too). Aaaah slightly off-topic, sorry sorry Edge: I want to say this in public too, but it is nice to see Suursaari finally "done" and released. Long time project anyway, it's over two years, but is it over three years? manhunter09: This one is quite realistic presentation of Suursaari island, with buildings placed as they were before WWII. It explains the "emptiness", it was just a island in middle of sea with not too many people. Btw. with little imagination player operated takeoffs should be possible with propeller planes...

You are missing the right people to play with. Most servers have password set due to players who can't behave or act as a part of team. I recommend you to try those before mentioned CiA co-ops tonight. Surely fun and teamplay oriented. Read more detailed instructions from their thread. Of course there are other alternatives available too. Some of them (like CiA) have fixed time of week when they play, but most games are set-up spontaneously in chat rooms.

Linux dedicated server? Hotfix for Linux server only related to FDFww_w.pbo Well it's not a FDF Mod release without any bugs  It should be pretty easy to fix. Get this file (viksi.zip) and extract it to your server directory. It has directory structure included in archive, so it should create fdfww_conf directory and one file (wounds.hpp) inside it. Hope it does the trick
