More unification in addon-making needed!

You're not the first one to suggest such thing. Personally I don't like idea of forcing or setting any guidelines. Standardization kills or at least restricts creativity. It is also about who are you (as a modder) trying to satisfy - your own imagination or rest of the community. Lots of hard decisions. I'm just trying to be happy and enjoy all these wonderful gifts to the community. Hope the authors are happy too! PLUR -
Wow! Nice and surprising stuff, I'm waiting for this one!

MLOD of all vehicle and soldier models released!
Smartti replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I don't know, I'm just a paranoid newbie remembering too much OFP horror stories of server crashing... Another small question: Does this mean if I use for example M16 clip from BIS sample models on one of my guns, all my 100 guns which don't use that clip in same pack are declared open source too? You know we Finns aren't native English speakers so we need to clear up this issue totally. Thanks for understanding us, I'm sure it's difficult -

Possible conflicts in multiplayer leading to server crashes when multiple variations of addons/mods appear? @Suma: Thank you for clearing up this issue! -
MLOD of all vehicle and soldier models released!

Guess I spam my worries over here, too. Moderators can decide what to do Sorry for stupid questions but: This means whole content of addons/mods using those sample models goes into "open source"? Not limiting just to the part from sample models? May I ask what was the need for such change, as there wasn't such clause in first batch of sample models? Anyway the idea is good to release all models into public... There are just some questions that need to be answered. -

The independent Republic of Kosovo seems to be getting some recognisation. Wikipedia has nice and clear listing of recognising countries, but it seems to be under constant change. No WWIII yet...
-
No WWIII theories from me, sorry. One possible side effect I find interesting. Russia warned that it might change its attitude towards other similar regions if Kosovo gains international recognisation. Specifically the Caucasus region. For example inside Georgia there are two de facto independent states and one autonomous republic. Might get messy again if Russia increases its "influence" there. About Kosovo, personally I like the idea of nation states and therefore accept the birth of this new republic. Though this isn't pure case of it: they shoud've split the northmost municipalities back to Serbia. But well... what I'm to talk about politics...

Uh oh! So you keep posting this weird nonsense on BIS forums too... Â Just for your information: granQ has done A LOT more than you will EVER do with your patience. Unless you start to grow up and act like that very fast. granQ: Nice stuff as always Oden: -

I'm not sure if this eases the need for BMDs enough, but our BMDs will be used by Vektorboson in his Flashpoint Germany project (thread here). At least that pack will be smaller in file size and less Finnish... About other permission issues, you should contact fdfmod@mbnet.fi directly. I feel it's fair to say, that we prefer our stuff to become a part of something bigger, instead of just being "ripped-and-released". Though nothing is impossible. Edit: Huoh, I'm sooo good today

Classic! It's not totally amateur, those actors are at least some level famous in Finnish TV/movie scene. One of them even too much. Low budget it could be, with really fine finish though. That's the way we spend holidays in Finland. Get naked and roam in forests... and avoid the evil hunters! Fight the random encounters with polar bears. Loot the Santa's workshop. Happy holidays!

Just delete the FDF_sounds directory from your Armed Assault directory (and the possible shortcut from your desktop).

Agree on all of these  We, the FDF team, have used IRC and forums for our communications from the beginning. I think I can say we like it and it works quite well. Forums - or any other way of communicating by reading and writing - would be more equal to people who don't speak English as native language. Sure you need skills to read and write, but not in such high level as speaking. Nice idea anyway
