TFA - Naval Special Warfare Gear

Thats a very good point as a matter of fact, Tsark. Unfortunately theres no way other than texture work to hide those. This is something that BIS should've thought of (or maybe they have and I'm just not privy too). The work involved to double all the textures without the flag, and every variant of uniform, will lead me to say no in including those. If someone from your group wants to physically open up the pbo and make your own retextures that eliminate the flag, PM me.

@MC_IC – I put in the backwards cap and then removed it. I did not like the result of how it looked, both the position of the model and the texture and I don’t want to put much time into adjusting the model. It will not make an appearance in my mod pack. Sorry for getting your hopes up. @Captainblaffer – Thanks for the kind words! If you want to submit some action shots of the gear being used I’d love to see them too! @Tacti-Cool – I checked out what you said about the Candidates uniform not being able to equip the rebreather and dive goggles. There’s nothing in my config that would restrict it. It uses the exact same model. And to further investigate, I put a set on and went diving. Worked out just fine for me. Perhaps you had the wrong faction’s equipment on? @Broduz – Thanks for the compliment Broduz. As far as the T-Shirt variant for these, I just don’t see a reason to do it. It would literally DOUBLE all uniforms as is for a (T) variant, albeit the file size for the mod would remain the same, relatively. I just don’t see the benefit for the T variant. It’s a lot of work config wise that would only really end up spamming the uniform choices even further. It wouldn’t be hard – just a bunch of work for not a whole lot of benefit. That’s all in addition to the fact that this is a uniform mod. Why would someone willingly wear a T in combat? Lol. So, as a result, I will not be putting T variants in. There will be an update to the modpack within the next week to adjust some patches, helmets and other little tweaks here and there that slipped into this release build. If anyone wants to submit action screenshots (candid or posed), I’d really love it. I’d like to update the photos on the SWS and in my first post.

Oh no, I was talking about the backwards cap. But I found it previously. I'll see what I can do. If I don't like the way it looks it'll be scrapped.

Link me to it and I'll see what I can do. It'll only be in solid colors - black, tan, green.

Vest textures are higher detailed (straps, buckkels, fabrics, radio, 203s) All uniform textues - higher resolution overall and numerous fixes (ripstock materials, stretch fabric around knees, etc.) Changes all SND color to KHK color (Khaki 400) Fixed: FOL plate carrier matches other FOL gear better NWU2 plate carrier matches other NWU2 gear better Camelback of plate carriers now have the proper camo direction orientation Various config display name adjustments. Download v4.11 I'm sure there's stuff I'm forgetting or that slipped through accidently. Please, let me know what I need to fix but this should hold everyone off for a while, I hope. Meanwhile, I ask that all users of this mod please provide a rating feedback on the steam workshop (click here). Thanks again to all of those who use this mod. Hope yall enjoy! Edit: I will be going back to visit boonies and FAST/ECH helmet textures, those are relatively untouched. Thats the next update.

Yeah based on those photos that Eric sent, the camo looks spot on. The ArmA lighting is funky and does weird stuff with what looks good on paper. Plus certain monitor settings alter colors differently. Unless someone else steps in and says that I got it wrong, I just don't see the change that needs to occur. Meanwhile, everything is spot on and ready to go thus far for the fourth. Only one change needs to happen and that's with a camo design on a protec helmet. One of which I haven't shown yet. If all goes according to plan on the 4th, everything will be uploaded and ready to go. This is a big change to the pack. New config. New models. New textures, new fixes, new compatibility. All of which will be included in the readme and provided in my release post. I'd be very greatful for the 1,000 steam workshop subscribers and others who use my mod if y'all would provide rating feedback through the workshop page. It helps to analyze and crunch ratios and numbers, and keeps me interested in development. Honest criticism is needed, and if it's negative I ask ya also give me some recommendations on how to further develop and fix what should be in your mind. Thanks again guys. Happy Halloween and see ya in a few days on the other side of the breach.

For the record, looking at the camo in game is a tad bit different than in the VA. The camo still looks fine to me, but I could be wrong. Sub, et al, take a look here. Meanwhile, looks like they removed the Unit Insiginia and Faces tab of the Arensal in the dev build (of whatever error is popping up at the bottom is stopping those two). BI, if you see this please put those back/fix it. Screenshot.

I have attempted it. The camo was fine. But the model I wasn't happy with so I scrapped it. I would have to find an actual to put it on that looked right. There's no combat shirts that have that camo (thankfully). Thanks! Yes, PM me any DCU photos ya have along with pointers on whats wrong with the current coloring that you notice (thanks again).

TFA - Naval Special Warfare Gear

Ive been staring at the DCU for an hour. I dont see a problem with it. If you're just talking about lack of effeciency vs the OCP/MCAM then thats just because of the dates the camo was designed - there's a reason why the DCU is not issued anymore. The coloring seems spot on to me. Remember its desert usage, not temperate usage. OCP will always look better on Altis and Stratis. If I completely misunderstood, sorry. Lol.
  13. They look great man. Keep it up. Have you looked into the kryptek snow or night camo?

I did a quick MARPAT cover for my MICH helmets. They look good enough. Will be released in the new update soonâ„¢. Also did a another overhaul of the Kitbags - they look great now. Soonâ„¢ Edit: forgot you requested an ACU one as well. I'll do that one later.

It should be pretty easy to do. I'll make note and see what I can do. Just to clarify, MICH helmet or ECH?
  17. The patterns on Kryptek's website make it super easy to put ingame. So I tried it a few months ago and just kept it in. Just the highlander, mandrake and nomad. Was too lazy to do the rest. If you need any help, feel free to PM me. :)
  18. I've had some of these camos in my pack for some time now. Regardless, keep up the great work drifter - looks great!

Yes it will. I've noticed little nitpicking issues on what I did today and will be didnt that and looking on how I can improve the uniforms even further. Headgear will come after in a few week. Edit: will fix grammer later. On mobile.

You're absolutely right. Never noticed it before you mentioned it. Its difficult and time consuming to evaluate what looks good on a .psd vs what we see in game. I have fixed it. And not only that but cleaned up the ripstop design considerably. I dont have plans for it at the moment. To be perfectly honest, the ingame vests are great, impressive models. Most people are just tired of them. With that being said, until I a) have more time to dedicate to contacting other modders about sharing assets, and b) then developing new stuff further, I'll be sticking to the vanilla models. I also am rethinking your MARPAT variation ideas - I'm still against it. I will not be doing variants. Remember the reason I included them to begin with is that I wanted large realism units to be able to use those as well, against my better judgment. Thats also why the ACU is present. If I do variants for MARPAT, it'll be excessive. Plus, then I'd have to make variants for ACU and I'm sure at some point the Kryptek camo's. Thats essentially doubling the mod size or coming very close to it. I hope this makes sense - thank you again for your kind words and suggestions. And then when I was evaluating the ripstop material, I decided to clean up and update the uniform camo's completely. This made me revisit everything else. So, I'll be making some touch ups to the backpacks again. The only thing I know that needs to be update are helmets. That I wont be touching until next week or the week after that pending time. Thanks immensely for the feedback guys. Keep'em coming. Edit: also I'm playing with the combat shirt's non camo'd coloring for all shirts. Edit 2: so this has completely snowballed. Every camo is being adjusted. I dont think one think isn't being touched. This is good and long overdue - entering hour 13.

Not gonna do the little spandex sections around the knees. Thats just me being lazy. However, I'll attempt a prototype and see how it goes. And maybe its me but the NWU looks sized the same as the reference photo. Second set of eyes and more opinions would help.

TFA - Naval Special Warfare Gear

Doomsta88, thank you very much for enjoying the mod and the kind words! I was very reluctant to even incorporate MARPAT into my mod to begin with. There's other mods that focus solely on USMC stuff. I will not be doing variants of the MARPAT at this time. However, when I think it's time to update and adjust some of the camos, I'll keep that in mind. Subscyed, I redid the vests entirely. New template psd, I think I'm aware of what area you're speaking about and I think I've addressed it. However, its possible that I missed some. The straps on the vanilla BIS one are a pain to deal with as is; I'll go back and see if I notice any major miscolored areas. I should also say that backpacks and vests will be a bit darker than the uniforms - this is by intent. I want to reflect a beat up dirty/grungy look. You can wash uniforms, but equipment is harder. So it's not a matter of me not being able to match the coloring, its specifically there as grunge layers. Backpacks and vests are matched color wise (or really freaking close to it).

TFA - Naval Special Warfare Gear

So just to keep everyone informed. I've completely redid vests and backpacks. They look great, even to me. There's a bunch of other changes and additions but the only thing I'm waiting for at this point is BI to release the next Stable patch.
