When I do a fresh server start, the 1st MP mission played seems to keep all dead bodies and wreckage, but on a mission restart, or the 2nd MP mission, they disappear over a short time.

I have not seen any of those mentioned. What I did see, was MHQ #1 parked anywhere, die, pick respawn at MQ #1, but respawned me at the original starting point of the MHQ (airport). I simply did the teleport to it, which put me in the right location. The mission is pretty fun if you have several hrs to finish it

I still use 5 versions of Windows, but by far, Vista will always be my choice. Glad to hear you like it so far. Still curious about the 8 gig memory though. If yours loads ArmA, the other guys here with large memory + a 1gig video card, will know where their issue may be.

Mine was before SP1, but, I had to boot in/out of bios 2-3 times to setup the raid controllers, then Vista took 17 minutes. The home network was plugged up already, so it automatically pick up the internet and dnlded updates before ever seeing my desktop login screen. After doing the trick I posted earlier, the 2nd install took 14 mins..... XP will never do that. About the amount of ram.....I also remember that 2gig limit with new installs, I disabled 2gig in bios until finished. Edit...then I had to wait 5 months for the ArmA Atari in the US, while I played my Czech version on an AMD64 3000+ w/FX-5900.. blah..

I tried this for a few hrs last nite, Thanks! I really like the way RAC'S will hide until all enemy leaves a town.... then they tippie toe back in to recapture their flag/s. I only played it once so it may never happen again, but my Air factory built half in ground on a very gentle slope. Thanks again.

Yoma, You have a beefy DX10 video card, you would get more out of it with Vista 64 or 32 alone. Mine never even broke a sweat....until I added the Dell 30 in. When I built my pc in Jan 07, 2gig sticks of ram were not perfected at that time, so I stayed with reliable 1gig sticks x4. I most likely would go 8 (if built today), but the 4 I have has been plenty. There will be a few things in Vista that may annoy you, such as UAC (User Account Control). It is designed for a family pc with several users, to keep the system safe! I do not allow anyone else on mine, so I have it disabled, which stops all the pop up warnings, and never having to tell a prog~ to "run as administrator". Another is the new looks to your directories, which I got use to fairly quick. 64 vs 32? The best way for me to actually see the difference, is playing Crysis, which has a 32 & 64 launch exe's. 64 is far better graphically! I also use FireDaemon Trinity to run an ArmA server, which has never given any trouble what so ever. I believe after you explore the Vista experience with a new system (with patience), you'll be glad you made the upgrade. And do get SP1 for it asap. Wish I knew!

Also check the 0 (number) and O (letter) in the key code. Edit by Maruk: to avoid confusion, this is really not important as the installer handles 0 (number) and O (letter) in the key code as equal characters purely to avoid such problems. Also, incorrectly entered key code with a type would be recognized right when entered to the setup.

Your ISP/Router control panel must have it blocked, contact them if you can't find it. btw, I use 1 pc (dsl modem) with several net cards for other pc's to excess the internet, only the pc that connects needs adjusting in the firewall. Yours must all connect to the router, I take it?

Wrong area to post, but.... If your using Windows, go into your Firewall/Advance tab then click settings button beside ICMP, in the new window check the box for "allow incoming echo request".

Odd, I'm not getting those. I really don't remember getting them from 1.06 (not saying that I didn't) but definitely don't see them w/1.12. Could it be my US Atari version?

Vista is not the issue, it could be a combination of things. Somewhere between Vista SP1, ArmA patches 1.11 & 1.12, and numerous Nvidia drivers tested......my ArmA started falling apart (some BSOD's & ArmA stopped responding). Reinstalling ArmA has it back running silky smooth again! Extra's used= DurgsVegetationFix, and ECS mod.

After flying in OfP for so many years, I truly enjoyed the new ArmA style. The only thing I would like to see changed is the option to swap position back n fourth with an AI gunner, like you can in armored vehicles.

Ok, i know this will sound stupid but when the bars grayed out its usually to do with directx being corrupt or improprely installed. Try reinstalling it from the microsoft site, probably won't work but on the other hand may fix everything. Mine is grayed out, but it states "Your current display driver does not allow changes to be made to hardware acceleration settings". Thats the way it has been since Feb 07' drivers, all the way up to 174.93betas. I'm currently using 169.25 WHQL. Next drivers I try, I'll check before installing them to see if it is still grayed out. (The Vista generic drivers).

I like the CoD4 comparison shots shown. This would be a good affect for ArmA. I personally do not use PP in ArmA due to my eyes get blurry enough after a few hours of gaming w/drinks. The clear center view would look more RL to me also....... even while drinking.

I concur, I purchased SLI for Vista in Feb 07', but it was late May before Nvidia could get it to work with Vista. Still today, I have small issues.

I have to leave mine set to Nvidia controlled scaling, the other 3 options just cuts down my viewable area with all games. Have you got the latest CP, and does your monitor support scaling?

Installing DX9 will not change your DX10, run dxdiag after installing DX9, and it will show you still have DX10.
