Who would you like to see interviewed?
SWAT_BigBear replied to jerryhopper's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
I want to re-nominate Mike Melvin, due to Warfare mod. -
You asked a wide open question. To many scenario's to change "actual usage". i.e...OS's, SP/MP, small/medium/large mission, ect ect. I have plenty of memory, so none of the above effects me. ("no slow down, as you asked") I've seen my game use anywhere from 200-420, but I use task manager to view the memory usage.

Thats sounds really good. You could even go as far as 1-3 "insurgents" with weps.
-
Lol, Suma pops up to give a big smack down...... In ArmA2, how about a Howitzer that shoots them "pigeons" out of the sky?
-
lol, nice landing. Were you the pilot? Edit= anderson, it's &fmt=18 you have &fmg=18 nice clips.

Good point ModaFlanker, I use onboard 8-in-1, SoundMAX ADI1988 Audio Driver V6.10.1.6270 (Vista 32 & 64). EAX enabled. Hardware acceleration enabled.

It sounds like the built in windows firewall is waiting for permission to access the internet with the game. Alt Tab (to minimize the game) after clicking Multiplay. There should be a windows firewall warning on your desktop.

I also play ArmA often without any mods. I think it's time to settle your bet. How much is your mortgage? I hope it's enough for 3 of us. Â make that 4 -

At the near end of that video, the loading of the in game beach scene.......damn that was slow loading the graphics. -
Yes Anyone whom has a monitor with that native res would see exactly what I see....if they have the card to push it. Any lower resolution in ArmA is blurred. ArmA mark did not do so well though, maybe becuase it forces the lower res?
-
RangerX3X , Maybe you should look at other possibilities of your problems. If I have a problem with a user made mission with a stable driver, I just do not play it anymore. ArmA did infact kill a few user missions with patches. Stock/Patched ArmA does not freeze/lock up/bsod/ with a few known stable drivers, with my Nvidia cards. They are all WHQL.

When GR was 1st released, about the only real fun our group could have was, setting a server up with small maps and the weakest pistol only. It was very comical the way you could hit some one in the legs/arms and make them twitch and turn with every hit, up to 10-12 bullets before they died. The faster you could shoot....the funnier the animation looked and it made it very hard for them to get a clean shot back at you. (Would have made for great videos). A headshot would drop them like a fly though. Both of my Asus 8800's came with free copies of GR Advanced Warfighter...... but I've yet to open them.

I'm with you......must be TrackIR. Sharp right turns, puts my nose in drivers door window.

I looked in my toilet this morning, and you would not believe what it looked like.

With such a massive system, now you need a monitor that will warm your video cards up! -

Aviafan, adding to the shortcut is specific. I want to confirm yours looks similar to this, "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\arma.exe" -maxmem=512 notice it starts after the last quotation with a space 1st. Your pc should run ArmA easily...... starting from scratch might help with a reinstall ArmA. -
dotted, you should give yours to someone whom can use it. The old thread about the differences between Freetrack and TrackIR, if I remember it correctly, showed a few capabilities of TrackIR.....that Freetrack can not do. Maybe NaturalPoint - Vincent will reply here and remind us. I personally wish all games supported it.

I use performance setting in the Nvidia CP. I also use in game settings of, Brightness .07 Gamma 1.2 My SLI works great, Vista 64bit though. Stock settings will cause flickering in bright areas for me also. -
I believe it is YouTube just saving bandwidth. Doesn't matter how high the video was recorded, they are going to show it at a lower quality, but the original is there. Matt and I was referring to you the "edit" button on your post with the link, so anyone whom clicks it, gets a better quality. High/low options on other sites, are mainly to help slow connections, such as dial up or satellite.

Just go back and edit your post of the video. It works for everyone with youtube videos.
