    Here are some new pics of TucSong, a few styles of hooch are all thats left to model for the beta. Â There is a river that runs through the region of Tuc Song which divides the area into several parts. Â For now, there are land bridges connecting the various parts of the region. Â Other ground textures will be made in the near future and smaller rivers&rope bridges will be added as well. *PICTURES NO LONGER HOSTED* Anderson

    Yeah I dont know what Im gonna do about Bahadur. Thanks for the comments on Tuc Song, open beta due out shortly, closed beta tesing underway currently, tweaking objects count vs FPS.

    Temporarily on the backburner (havent we all heard this one before;) ) For the scale of what we are hoping to eventualy accomplish, AA will be much more suited for this purpose. My full attention has been turned to TucSong and the Vietnam Bunker/Tunnel system until AA comes out.

    Thx for answer  sry fer not responding Swat In response to your question: As it stands, I get about 35-40 fps on Tuc Song with visibility set to 500 and fog set to 100 to 150 meters. Computer Specs: ATI X700 256mb 1.9 Asus AV8X 1.25gb ram SB Audigy 2zs  I have found that the resolution of the textures on the objects does not effect the FPS greatly, it seems to boil down to how many point/faces each object has v.s the amount of that particular object being rendered on screen at once. Keep in mind that the high fog/low visibility may not make long range marksmanship/piloting all that enjoyable for missions on this map, but the close range firefights are a blast A video should be coming soon.

    Heres a couple pics of Tuc Song. Â The map is progressing nicely. Â Just trying to work out exact numbers (as to how many objects per cell is allowed by maximum). Â As of now, TucSong is being built with the intention of use being for small scale/close up and personal kinds of missions where the jungle mists cloud visibilty past 100-150 meters. Â Firefights get pretty crazy, but AI has a hard time navigating from point A to B due to foliage density and AI view blocking needs to be implemented on the foliage...     Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

    Oblivion is a good game. Got it a while back and have had lots of fun with it. Positive: -------- -graphics -literature (books .etc) -building/character design/enviroment -music -lots of stuff to do... Negative: --------- -damn town quests... I dont know about anyone else but I am getting tired of these run-around-town missions that RPG developers having been stuffing their products with. These mini-quests are getting out of hand in the Elder Scrolls series. The problem solving involved in these missions is insulting to the slowest of individuals, more problem solving involving the physics engine would have been interesting ie: take treasure from altar, AI monster persues, loose persuit by cutting rope bridge behind you -physics engine (mediocre) just try organizing items on a shelf, or stack a few plates and stuff on a table... they sit about an inch above the surface -when you mount your horse, only arrow quivers, short/long swords or axes and shields appear on you character while on horseback. So say you have a broadsword on your back and ya walk up to get on your horse - once climbing aboard, the sword on back dissapears... I can understand the clipping issue with a broadsword on your back while on the horse but just having the currently equipped weapon dissapear when you get on is bad... why wouldnt they just change the angle of the broadswords position on your back when on a horse, the sword hangs slighty to the side of the horses rump and does not clip... hopefully a plugin comes out for this -dynamic daily routine for AI is reptitive after a bit, and you hear the same conversations float around amongst townspeople -travellers/more highwaymen, and the only people riding around on the roads are newspaper couriers and Imperials... no bands of adventurers to encounter, or groups of bandit on horseback... -no horseback archery, or swordfights from horses...:( Silly having to dismount your horse just to start fighting with an enemy thats had enough time to run up on you while dismounting "Oh, you wanna fight highwayman?... Gimme 2 seconds, I gotta dismount". -Backround LOD compared to foreground detail -shamefull- no smooth transition

    Chain Of Command Engine

    I liked the COC VTE mission, and Im actually in the process of completing a MACV-SOG COC mission Im making which takes place on the VTE island - 7 Mountains. These missions can be dynamic to a certain extent (ie: taking an objective through various methods), and from a strategy perspective its not bad, when moving several army platoons through a jungle that come under fire, you can decide to call in arty for the soldiers, air support, have one of the army platoons fallback and come around to flank the enemy...etc

    Some bunker/tunnel objects will have the classic "concealed door" entrance with a ladder leading down into them... I could make tunnel entrances in buildings, but I would need Vietnam buildings to use... The tunnels will eventualy have punji pits, and little dugout areas in the walls to conceal mines in. I think i'll let the mission editor decide where and even if there are any traps in the tunnel, if the tunnel has preset traps it may get a little repetitive. Thanks for the compliments. The textures are not from the game Vietcong, Ive just been making em as I need em, and I should say that they will undergo further revisions before final version. I think its safe to say that this pack is heavily inspired by Vietcong, one of my alltime favourites. Id like to say that if anyone has any more ideas for types of bunkers/tunnels theyd like to see let me know. Im sure theres lots of good ideas out there!

    Bahadur v1.9

    *updated * 1st campaign will take place on the new map being designed for Bahadur which is the south western province of Hada. Covered by vast deserts and farm lands along the rivers this province accounts for a very large portion of Bahadur's gross annual food production. The region is heavily guarded by Bahadur land/sea/air units and the land is heavily fortified with bunkers, tunnels, and infantry/mech/support positions. As far as the lights are concerned, good suggestion on using AEF RealLights which I will seriously consider. I would like to make my own light addon though and just include em in the Bahadur_o.pbo If anyone would be willing to help with the liights that would be great. I'll probably end up just cracking open the AEF pack and see what he had to do to create new types of light.     What would U like to see?

    Berm-A mound or bank of earth, used especially as a barrier or to provide insulation. Pending release, the Bahadur object pack will contain berms and other fortified positions for infantry/vehicles...
