Hi The thunderstorms do appear, but they only happen for around one and a half seconds, for best results, they should only be viewed at night, or dusk, as you are able to catch and follow the flash, with the strike, and then hear the sound of the thunder. But we have improved this for out next version. @.pablo. Thanks for information, we will look into that, and get in contact with a member of the ecp team to see if we can sort something out. But im not sure if anyone has noticed the latest Arm A release information, that includes dynamic weather, so we might be forced to put a end to the weather, considering what tools and resources BIS has available, its bound to be far more substantial than ours. But we shall release a new updated version for resistance before we see the release of ArmA Smiley

Yeh thats my first thoughts, but if they have found out a way that allows things to be placed, and replaced via WRP than it is possible to some extent. I think Smiley

Looks very impressive, i have always wanted to play C&C from a FPS point of view.. Are those objects placed via WRP? or the editor? If so im interested how you got your wrp to run the destructible wall scripts you have. Smiley

All vehicles are "She's" Â Â And "She" is defiantly a She.. Ok now im confused

Looking Good Jag, and UKF. Will she be able to fight as good as she looks? Also can we expect to see the standard custom markings ect? And what are the chances of having a really "Dirty" "Used" version? Like shown in your pic jag... Really cant wait for this, i have always wanted a decent chally2 in ofp, as i myself am a Armored fan. Final question, will the chally have hidden selections to add certian loadouts to the outer body? (Im not sure on the correct name, or what infact they are, but i have seen pics with items hanging off the sides, and tops.) Smiley

DEM to WrpTool trouble

From my previous experiences, getting a dem into wrp edit, or tool, is rather simple. Getting a dem that is the correct size or even getting a dem is the hard part. It took me a few days to acquire a dem for my "South Armagh" terrian, for the NIMOD. And i had to pay for it... It sounds like you have a new version of wilbur, as i had a similar problem a while back, and i was forced to revert back to a older version. You also might find that the dem is either too large or too small. If you have any image editing software i would suggest you try and resize it to a average image size. 32x32, 64x64, 128x128 and so forth. If you still cant get it to work, i would be happy to take a look at the dem for you, and try and get it into wrp and then you can carry on with the rest of your ideas. Smiley

I would just like to clear that statement up as you didn't state the full reasons. I myself decided on the decision to have the dynamic weather taken out of the FFUR pack for three very good reasons. 1.) The dynamic weather is still a beta. And i don't want to put something into a mod pack that is still at a current beta stage as i feel it wouldn't represent the final product., i certainly wouldn't do it for the NIMOD, so im reluctant to allow this to happen for others also. We felt the clouds where good enough to go public, and for you all to enjoy them, but they are by no means ready to be incorporated into a large modification pack. 2.) The fact that we didn't get a simple PM even asking us if "FFUR" could incorporate them into his mod was a bit subject to say the least. But this was not the reason why i didn't want thunderbird85 to use them. As stated above they are only beta. 3.) We have our own ideas and concepts for the dynamic weather, and we feel if its included into a solo mod pack, people are limited into to having to download the whole pack if they wish to have a automatic weather system that is in conjunction with the BIS or custom sky pack weather system. We would like such a thing to be available to everyone and we are working very hard to achieve this. I hope this has cleared things up, as i got a slight impression that the statement was trying to make us look bad in a certain light, or the intent was there.. Many thanks Smiley

Who will continue work for ArmA?
smiley nick replied to Espectro (DayZ)'s topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
You can also expect an appearence from the NIMOD also, it has been our original plan to convert over to Arma when we heard the good news. We just hope a few issues have been solved. Smiley -
Great work Mapfact. Thankyou for bringing this into the community. I for one shall be using this from now on. Thankyou Smiley

Sounds like a good idea, might be worth checking out

Thanks for all the comments and ideas, we are working on all of them and should be ready for the next update. The lighting happens on random occasions, it might be pure luck that you will see it, just like in real life, for best results its better to view it at night, as you can follow the flash and get a glimpse. im afraid its impossible (afaik) for the lighting to cause any sort of damage, and it would be 1 in a million chance of you getting hit by it in a plane :P We are also working on a new rainbow feature, and a new, high res sky pack in conjunction with "wheres my rabbit". Keep the ideas flowing Smiley

Very nice indeed, you are a very talented island maker, the small elevations make such a difference, along with the detailed ground textures and the foliage, looking forward to this one. Smiley
-
Yes i would recommend that, it seems to do add more depth to the clouds and make them appear more "white" By the way, if any of you have any ideas you would like to see in the next version/update we would be happy to hear. As we would like to keep improving it as much as possible. Smiley

I know the clouds arnt 100% lag free but we tried to make them as lag free as possible. It might be a case of having to cut down on a a few things such as view distance, or terrain detail if you wish to use the weather. Of course it differs on every ones pc because of the individual specs, but i myself have a average machine and i found no problems, getting about 28fps with the clouds. Would you be able to tell me your view distance or terrain level details? Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Smiley

Yet again thank you all for the positive feedback. It is recommended that you either use "wheres my rabbit" sky pack, or "llaumas" skypack for best results. As they both give a more "natural" and more crisp looking look. To answer your questions... The clouds are created depending on the players view distance as they are dynamic, if you have a low view distance only clouds within that view distance will be created to prevent unnessacery lag. Also using dxdll can help make the clouds look more solid and thick. Also experiment with the cloud types to get the best result you are after. From using the small clouds with one layer to the large white clouds with two layers. Its all down to personnel preference and PC specs. The rain inside buildings is a ofp bug, as its just a flat texture, nothing we can really do about that . The thunderstorm sounds and lightning effect happens randomley, you just have to wait and listen, and keep your eyes open to notice the effect. As we wanted to make it as real as possible, so you never know when your going to see or hear the crack of thunder until its over your head We have also decided to update the weather, from the feedback you have all said. 1.) Fog is now fixed 2.) Storm clouds are more of a grayish tone 3.) Blizzard has been upgraded to include even more snow! 4.) Thunder sounds have been increased in volume. You can use the same link, found at the start or you can just click here again to obtain the updated version. NIM Dynamic Weather Update Smiley

Hi Parvus, yep its released, check the "ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE" for more details and a link Nice pic btw eddy

Thankyou all for your positive feedback, i myself wasn't expecting such a positive response. I am happy you all like it. Keep the questions coming, or any problems you have had as i will try and answer them. The weather effects are fully compatible with ecp, except with the random weather feature with ecp. So the addon automatically disables this feature. You wont notice a huge difference but we had to disable it due to some small conflictions. Yes, the addon automatically disables the random weather feature that comes with ecp, so turing it on or off wont matter in your game settings, as its coded from the start of the scripts. Also that is a regular ofp bug im afraid. As Wheres my rabbit stated, dxdll seems to be the source. If you could post or send me a screen shot, i can compare it with other versions. It could be your settings, or it  might be the case they are in fact too blue, thanks Ah thank you for spotting that out, i went over the read me about 5 times, but that must of slipped through the net, sorry about any confusion. Once again thank you all for your replies, and positive feedback, for our first addon we where expecting something less positive.  Smiley
