  1. I have fixed my issues after reading the through a lot of stuff in the troubleshooting section of this forum. This thread is to gather the knowledge that helped me, that othervise is very spread on the forum, so it might help others. My current version of Arma 2 is 1.05. My specs: Win XP pro, 32-bit AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2,4 GHz Sapphire Radeon HD4870 1Gb, Vapor-x Cooling 3,25 GB RAM (I Know...) 300 GB HDD 7200 RPM Well I installed Arma 2 and had bad performance and issues: - slow loading ingame map and menues - Artifacting graphics - HDD constantly working when turning around. - General low fps, and stuttering Fixes: - slow map and menues: Uninstall Cyberlink PowerDVD, fixed this instantly. - Artifacting graphics: Set Video memory from Default to High. - HDD load: Well, my HDD was full of crap and programs etc.. Even though it wasn't filled completely.. I defragged it, including a defrag of the Arma 2 directory.. still had problems so I formated the HDD, and now have a fresh install of windows XP. - low fps/stuttering: Well I still wasn't satified after formating the HDD, so I put -CpuCount=2 in the shortcut. BANG, smoothest gameplay I have had so far (I have not installed fraps yet so I don't have a fps reading). Hope this thread can help others.

    Harddisk load

I tried to use the defrag function in "gamebooster" (It has a function to defrag seperate directories), it says that the files are not fragmented after I used win defrag..
  4. ingame when I turn around or do anything that change what is on the monitor my I can hear that my harddisk is working. this causes lag down to 10-15 fps (sometimes even lower) while when I look strait forward without anything happening I got 30-ish fps. What causes this? my harddisk is defragged and filled up to about 60%. (also in two partisions, one for windows, one for games and programs, Other stuff is on external) My specs: XP pro 32 bit. Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2,4 GHz 4 GB RAM (3,25 active) Radeon HD 4870 Vapor-x 1024 MB PS: extra question: should I format and reinstall windows?

    Arma disconnects wifi !

Have similar problem, everthing related to connection to internet works fine, then i start up arma, can't find any servers, exit arma, try to use any net related progs but it doesn't work, lost connection. Strangely Teamspeak still works after arma startup.

    Pilot - wait for me!

Some guys out there has a loose nut in their brain or something. Played evolution the other night, had the best ranking on the server and finally i could use the AH-1Z. Some idiot jumped in as gunner, but i didn't want him and told him to get out on the vehicle channel, he refused. So I jumped out and took the other Cobra, then he pulls out his M136 and Blasted me to peaces.

    Right & Left Handed

well most of you agree that left-handed shooting should be implemented in the game... but lets take this discussion to the next level. As a Norwegian Army solder I got training in CQB. In CQB we have to use both right and left handed shooting (around corners, in buildings etc.. For our own safety). How about implement in-game shifting between right/left???
