    Scripting

I have not done any scripting in OFP but I have a general suggestion. Dont leave to the scripters what the game should have been able to do by it self.

    Game physics

Your right... the m16 would be even more stable/accurate due to its weight. =P

    More weapon effects

Actually wieght on the front of the gun can reduce movement. If you want to make a gun quiter shoot sub sonic rounds. that is why silenced guns dont have as much power behind them because they are sub sonic.

    Game physics

I'v played paintball, and I can run with my gun almost on target not like in ofp where you can shoot a guy running along side you when your runing becuase the guns is swinging all over the place. there is a difference between moving fast and sprinting. Look at AA 3 differnt movement modes slow normal and fast.

What has been wished for already!

This is just a basic summing up of the 36+ page mega wishlist thread. This way you dont have to read all the pages of post to see if your idea hs been talked about yet. This is work in progress... I cut/pasted and edited for clarity. I dont take credit for all these ideas and hope that ofp2 is a great game! -- Most important NO RUSH! NO RUSH! NO RUSH! NO RUSH! Take your time and get the game  mostly right the first release -- Engine TK punishment Better sound effects Better AI (who make their own decisions) Decent collision detection Fix the building clipping problems and collision detection JOIN GAME IN PROGRESS Buildings that crumble, not deflate No more islands. Wide open spaces that we could drive for half an hour and not reach the end of. Better netcode Ingame menus better Real ballistic for bullets Explosions...Explosions!...EXPLOSIONS! More than one joystick; and an easy to control configuration screen. -- Tools for missions and mods A real object oriented script language *Integrated text editor in the mission editor (for script editing). *Debugger *Command line parser within the actual game *Real dynamic creation of objects (instead of the current camCreate) *Real-time programming features like threadsafe, semaphores etc. *Exception handling List with all the commands Easy to use mission editor Easy to use terrain editor/creator Easier implementation and removal of mods that doesn’t require uninstall/reinstall and reformat -- Environment I'd really like to see big islands that feel more realistic. Take the airports we have now, for example. No control tower or hangars or anything that can really be called a terminal building. No wrap around perimeter fence. They just don't "feel" right, you know? Better tree destruction. For example, if you shoot at a tree half way up the trunk with a .50 cal MG, the tree will break in half Hand signals Better atmospheric conditions, real rain, snow etc Better civilians, like women and children More varied surroundings Real water, creeks and rivers and ponds, ability to cross water on foot(swim) without dying. Terrain and weather improvements like grassy areas more rained stuff. Better environmental sounds, like very long realistic sounding loop that blend with where you are. (ie near a creek you hear running water, forest you hear squirrels and birds, meadows you hear a slight breeze, and grass swaying, and different sounds at night (crickets) -- Infantry AI that can use Bunkers and does not go prone in them when the enemy approaches The ability to 'run' while crouched, like keeping your head down. High poly Infantry models, including chinstraps on helmets, better equipment detail on load bearing vest/harness (optimally you’d see what the character is actually equipped with, example: number of hand grenades,  nvg, magazine pouches), Rucksacks for all (to increase equipment that can be carried, could be handled similar to storage boxes). Smoother, more realistic movement Some sort of jump; mainly to get over obstructions and not to dodge fire. Bayonets on the rifles for when you don't have any ammo left Ability to get up and down faster for quick movement Inventory overhaul: like why should the amount of LAW's affects to number of hand grenades? Realistic ammo loads/specs for the weapons Ability to dig in Peek/lean movements to look round corners/objects Delay grenades and flash bangs Jamming, weapons should jam at times, forcing you to remove the magazine, replace it, reload. -- Land Vehicles A MG of top of tanks that can be manned by tank commander Vehicles that aren’t made to traverse water don't blow up when they go in it. Engine dies and the vehicle will be stuck Better damage modeling, both visually and physically, for vehicles No bouncing jeeps, or bouncing tanks, or bouncing planes etc... No more bouncing vehicles. Better vehicle crash physics Real driving models Shooting while riding in vehicles An artillery system that works -- Air Vehicles Would be nice to have real Laser pointers in planes, when you use laser bombs. If there are no laser pointer from the ground you must do it manually and point from the cockpit Real flight models Higher altitude Mini guns for the helicopter door gunners -- Command structure A revised and tweaked command system that would give greater control: including large groups of units
