How about this one? Best game ever. Was featured on a Johnny Ball programme way back in the day.<ig src="myweb.tiscali.co.uk/diesel72/ c64/fractalus.gif" border="0">
This is the C64 version, was also available on Atari.
EDIT: Nuts, link is fried.
Without looking at the picture...
... 'Rescue on Fractalus!'

Here's another RPG with isometric perspective...[mg]http://www.ofp-zone.de/bastler/spielspiel/spiel17.jpg[/img]
I liked its magic spell system (you had to combine certain gestures; the "how" was written on scrolls hidden in the dungeons).
Another classic, SSI's 'The Summoning'...

Everyone knows this(I hope):[ig]http://lee.plankton.ch/namegame8.gif[/img]
I loved and hated that game!

Yeah, 'Speedball 2'

Wonderful, you got it! Now I'm looking for a good Gameboy classic emulator to fullfill all not accomplished missions...Btw: listening to Club977, now playing "Break my Stride"...
*wants-to-go-back-to-the-80ies*
This site offers lots of Gameboy emulators:
or you could try the Multiple Emulator Super System:
-
and a new one, semi old:Looks like one of the 'Incredible Machine's
Another variant:
Hilarious!

With some work it does work in w2k/XP too, theres an unofficial patch that fixes the memory problem which stops it from working... and with the help of VDMSound and some other tools it works like a charm, here's a FAQ of some sort to get it working.Excellent link! Finally no more 'Our system has been shocked!' errors for me.
Thanks!

[mg]http://www.chinkii.com/uploads/album/misc/youcheateryou.jpg[/img]Who's the old nerd pervert that's going to know this one
'Custer's Revenge'
And don't call me old!

System Shock, that game has its place high in my "Best games ever" list.Correct!
The only reason why i am keeping my old P2/350 around is for playing this fine classic...
-
This has to be F-19 Stealth Fighter from Microprose. I can't remember any other game where you had "photographing" as an object! This was my first flight sim ever played, even after F-117A Nighthawk came out, I still was flying the F-19
Correct!
I fondly remember the night missions where i started in 'central europe', fly to 'Kola Peninsula' (?) and photograph the sub-pen.
The hardest part for me was the landing though.

That was too easy for me..but what is this one here? Anyone?[mg]http://www.linux-magazin.de/Artikel/ausgabe/1997/05/Dosemu/descent1.gif[/img]
That's 'DOS in a BOX'
Or was it 'Descend' ?

Sadus, let me try too!!!!Number one is Doom3
Number two is MFS 2004
Number three is Panzers
Number four is Half Life 2
We have a winner!!!
Not.
Anyway, nice try!
-
No.
Hint: one tactic stated in the manual was called 'threading the needle'
Hmm, probably not helpful at all...
Ok, the developer was Microprose...
-
Is it Battle Isle ?or
Advanced Strategic Command ?
Yep! Battle Isle 2
Well done!

As Harnu said, I'm enjoying the nostalgia as much as anything[ig]http://frutsel.terrainhost.com/frutselapp/dump/placebo/old%20game/o1.gif[/img]
[ig]http://frutsel.terrainhost.com/frutselapp/dump/placebo/old%20game/o2.gif[/img]

Same thing here...
Here are some of my favorites:
C64
Amiga
('F19 Stealth Fighter', correctly identified by vektorboson)
Amiga/PC
('Battle Isle 2', solved by Sanctuary)
PC
('System Shock', well done Kegetys)

I know I know you can see the name of this GIANT of C64 programming and gameplay but I thought it would have a place here as I loved it. I hope many can share my feelingshttp://web.externet.hu/sk/c64/games/e/pics/elite.gif

Remember Decathlon ?Along with a sexually motivated
game it killed my first joystick
.
I got me a Quickshot II some time later and modified it to permanent rapid fire. I also built a reset switch for my C64 on my own. those were the days
Reset switch? I used a tweezers (right word?) to short pin #1 and #3 on the user-port.
It worked fine.
Until the day i shorted pin #1 and #2.
I then built a proper reset switch for the replacement 64.

Game 3 is Wings indeed, from Cinemaware, yep, i like it came from the desert too from them.I played wings like crazy.
No idea about game 2 ?? it was pretty much fun ! It was inspired by the movie Rollerball, although the game was named slightly different.
Dunno why I never played Wings, could have been the time when I switched to the PC...
Hmm, something like 'Rocket Ball'?
My memory is not what it used to be
-
Ok, here are my favorite games on different platforms.Yes i m an oldtimer or better "Real gamer of the 1st hour"
Commodore 64
One of my favorite games back then .. inspired on a cool movie too, i played this untill my arms nearly fell off hurting
Game #1: 'Bruce Lee'
Great game! Here's a remake for the PC:
http://blitz.planetflibble.com/
Game #3: 'Wings'
I loved their 'It came from the desert'
-
Quote ]Hmm, could #4 be 'Zork'?No.
Another hint: Hitchhiker´s Guide was part of the series.
Quote ]Too bad you can't change the name later...I am not sure but have you asked a mod to change it ?
Maybe they can do it, but I´m not sure.
Hmm, beats me. I always thought 'HHGTTG' had only one part. Or do you mean part of the Infocom-series?
The other Infocom-game with whacky humor that comes to my mind would be 'The Leather Godesses of Phobos'.
Help, I need more hints!
BTW, thanks for the tip with the name, I think I'll do that...
-
great !Ok now there are only 2 missing. The one with the radio is easy imo. The text one was part of a text adventure series although it was the followup to a really well known series by an author with the initials D.A.
Who is Sadus btw ?
Hmm, could #4 be 'Zork'?
Sadus is a terminology from Dune:
http://www.dreamersofdune.com/lexicon/list.php?letter=S
My normal handle when playing is 'Sardaukar' (which is also from Dune). When i registered with the forums i needed a name fast. Too bad you can't change the name later...
-
Balschoiw:
#1: 'Karateka'
#2: 'Fort Apocalypse'
#5: 'Raid over Moscow'
#7: 'Green Beret'
#8: 'Gyruss'
Sweet memories...
Guess the name of the game
