Evis is right, I have 75 Counter Strike weapons mainely taken from here http://www.weapon-hacks.com/html/index.php I have them in my computer cause I absolutely love them, however it as always been my policy do don't release something I haven't worked at least 75% of it, or at least where I worked as a team menber. I mean anybody can have any Counter Strike weapon in game, it's just a bit of work, maybe 10 minutes for a weapon no more, and perssonaly I'm happier to make a crappy weapon 100% mine and than release it, than to be releasing one that isn't mine. However I think it's fair that some addon makers like to share others people work with the community, so I respect that, it's not my policy but i respect it. However the CS weapons have one problem as I said to the TOW guys too, we have to be very carefull with the amount of polys, cause if the weapon isn't worked properly in O2, it will LAG the game a lot,and as STT said, be sure to don't use many 512x512 texture files, I had that problem once, so I had to redo all the weapons in order to improove my gameplay and I have a fast computer, so in a slow one the effect would be a disgrace. Please be carefull with that Â

It's not just the M4s that are from CS at least the M249 is too, I have it in my game  And it's probably the best M249 I ever saw, perfect model with perfect textures, however it as 2.674 polys which is a lot, I had to cut some of the polys and I had to make a lot of lods in order to avoid the lagging  Your Seals do really look promissing please be carefull with the weapons, don't make the same mistake i did, my game was lagging like sh**. waffendennis I'm working on the Seals for BAS, and I will certenaly use the TOW ones too, as you know those comments don't take us anywhere, so please spear us with those kind of comments mate Â

The Seals do look good to me, the textures are nice. However from what I saw at least 7 of the weapons are from Counter Strike probably downloaded from http://www.weapon-hacks.com/html/index.php Using the Counter Strike weapons is a smart thing to do, since they are absolutely amazing, I can say I have 75 of them in my game, but we need to be extremely careful with the poly count and with the lods cause they will LAG the game and then they will ruin the entire addon if if they ain't worked properly in O2, so be careful guys Â

I liked your Alpha Team, the model is very good and the helmet is perfect. However the textures could be better, GR or not, I really don't care, but I think they need a little bit more work, specially the vest it looks a little bit strange but as an overall I think you've done a great work,I picked your model for my own use,I made a new vest/mocel and I used some textures I had from some time ago and it fits like a sharm I'll send you a pic soon for you to see what I mean As for the weapons, the well known Mailman pack for me is still the best Russian Pack of weapons around, it as a lot of quality and quantity,the sounds are really well done I specially like your AK74M, the way you mapped the weapon was perfect, the only thing I would change in the pack was maybe the AN94 (Abakan) it should have the textures a little bit darker and maybe a little bit more clear at the same time. In the Militia I really have nothing to point, I can only say that they do look really good Congratulations

I've downloaded your demo, and I think you guys are doing a great job,however there are some things that caught my attention. The typ90,type 89 and type 96 are really a must, perfect models packed with some of the best textures I've seen, for me this armoured vehicles are a defenetaly must reall, really impressive, my honest congratulations to your team. The Sounds are all really nice, don't see anything wrong here, the Trucks are ok, they don't have the same texture quality work as the mentioned vehicles but they are nice. Now what I perssonally don't like much are the soldiers, I think they don't match the quality of the vehicles, the weapons are all nice, it was funny the zasleh effect given in all the weapons btw So, in my opinion, if you guys do polish the units a little bit more, like giving some more shadows to them and like making the cammo actually feel more like it was used instead of being a so much straight one, I think this MOD is one of the best being produced. So keep it going guys, and thanks for all the effort dedicated to our game and specially thanks for sharing it with us -

This seems like a great idea to me, as it will not only increase the addon's quality standarts as it will be a good chance for we addon makers to work a little bit closer to BIS. Also the interest Maruk is demonstrating really makes me happy, we addon makers would never be able to do anything without your continous support, thank you. I think I'm talking for all the BAS team,we already have the system sugested implemented, and we'll be more than happy to help all addon makers and MODs that will need us not only in this topic but in all topics. I think it's time for we all to cooperate, together we can make our game 10 times better,and after all tat as always been our goal, I'm sure that a lot of addon makers don't know how to make missions, but there are a lof of mission makers that also don't know how to make addons, it's just a question of cooperating as I've said before,it's nice having addons, but if we can't use them properly than what's the point in making them ? It's true that Maruk as only sugested but if a big percentage of we addon makers follow this sugestions, than I'm sure that the rest will come after us. I'm IN

You know what, your right, I had an idea, I'm gonna make them now, than I'll post a bunch of pics for you to see how good they are, but than I'll only release them to my friends and to the addon makers,this way, you just don't have to whait cause you'll never get them. Well you have two choices mate, one is making them yourself, this way you don't have to whait. If you decide not to make them, than you have the last choice, you whait patientely until a kind addon maker decides to share his work with you

Thanks for the links Crunchy,they are very handy mate, as for pics I'll show them when my work is near the completition. Release date? Well it depends on the work I have to make for BAS, but never less than 2 or 3 months,I'm making them slowly and with time, really no hush for release from me,I want to make them well, with as few bugs as possible, so it will take some time

Indeed, we made custom recoils for the M249 specially because of that problem, some people have a differnet opinion and we respect it,but the truth is that the M249 is a very heavy weapon which as Evis mentioned doesn't produce much recoil it produces more a vibration than actually a  recoil. That's why we've made this weapon have even less recoil than the M4, which by the way also has a custom one. This issue was largely discussed between us, so we contacted our advisors who know much more about than this than us,and all of them told us the same thing, the recoil of the M249 is more a vibration that actually a recoil, you almost don't feel it

I agree with Avon Lady, we should solve the problem from the ruth not from the flower. Since Resistance droped us a bridge to use, now everybody uses bridges in the islands, I can understand that bridges do give an extra something to the islands but if the bridge doesn't work properly, that I think it's better to have no bridge than a no working bridge. Just my opinion... .

This is probably one of the best islands for ofp, I really am loving it, you where very carefull when placing objects, you dind't make the mistake a lot of island makers make that is to make citys full of objects and houses which will only result on a bad gameplay, you've placed te objects according to the neccesity of a good looking island and a no Lagging island. Some of the places are really beautifull, like the Fort Bennington, the place of the factory which is unmarked the small bases, the way the citys are made, with just enough buildings and trees, for me this is a defenetaly must in my islands collection. However, there is one thing that you have to fix, which as already been talked, the BRIDGES, both of them have the bug of not being leveled. which maks it impossible to cross on foot, my sugestion is, fix it or drop it, having a bridge that doesn't work is not a good politic, rather than that CONGRATULATIONS GREAT JOB, and btw I like the missions a lot too

ooohhhhh Thanks for the info mate, this is incredably detailed and is exactely what I was looking for, tell me something I think you didn't mention the AKM the VAL and the Albakan, they ain't used no more? or I missed something between the names of the weapons Do you have also use any machine gun, besides the PK and the ""customised" RPKs ? Another thing, you think you can make me a short description of how the Russian Army is structered and the roles of each one of them, like the Omons,SpetzNatz,Sobr,MVD... I mean what exactely are the roles/missions of each one of them. One thing that always confused me was the amount of SpetzNatz, for example you have MVD SpetzNatz,SpetzNatz only,Airborne SpetzNatz ... . You think you could explain me this a little bit more detailed, when I'm working on my addons I like to have a good background knowledge on what I'm doing, and unfortunately I didn't find many websites in English explainning this. If you can it would help me a lot, just in case you prefer and can help me my email is [email protected] Thanks

thanks for the help CrunchyFrog Basically what I need is to know which weapons to give to the units specified above. I've been searching between my spear time from BAS and my RL for information. Besides some very useful information about SpetzNatz Units I need more good and reliable information. EX:What weapons the Paratroopers use, which weapons the MVD use, which weapons the Alpha Team uses... . I need to know it exactely like it is, I've managed to get hold on a lot of photos, from them I can have a generic idea but I need to have a good reliable source of information that grants me this kind of info, not just photos. So far I've managed to find a lot of pics to work on the weapons and since I've been running this project for 4-5 Months, trust me I do have a lot of pics However, I need info about the units loadout. If possible the names they use for their positions, the kind of squads/platoons and so on... . With this informations and between my spear time between BAS and my Private Life I will certenaly finnish them a lot sooner
