I got my new computer yesterday and guess what.... I joined the happy green screen club, it only happens when I use modfolders or addons btw.. If I run OFP 'clean' then it works good.. My specs are: Intel P4 2.8ghz 800mhz FSB 1024mb PC3200 400mhz DDR RAM (2x 512mb in Dual Channel configuration) ASUS GeForce 5600 256mb (V9560TD) Creativ SB Audigy Platinum ASUS P4P800 motherboard ASUS Display Drivers 44.71a (I tried the Detonator 44.03) DirectX 9.0b and alt-tab doesn't resolve the problem, even worse, if I do it a few times my computer auto-restarts [edit] I'm running WinXP Home btw..

First retail mission.. uh.. I dunno... I guess I opened the editor first to check the vehicles out that werent in the demo and after that.. I guess I either started the campaign or played "Steal The Car"

I have a PS2 and I'm very happy with it... I guess the choice of console kinda depends on what games you like.. PS2 just happens to suit me best... My fav games are GT3, GTA3, GTA VC and Ace Combat 04 Now I'm just waiting for Metal Slug 3, Gran Turismo 4 and Ace Combat #5

thing is, how you want to have all stuff be 'synchronised' so all aspects interact with eachother and furthermore, if you are 1 soldier/squad in a large scale conflict... how much influence do you have on the outcome? not much I reckon ...

Ive been to the 2003 KLu airshow at Twenthe AFB (Netherlands) and there also was an F/A-18 doing a solo demo.. man, that probably was one of the (if not THE) loudest aircraft of the entire airshow.. loud as hell indeed

Red Storm Rising... I read that 2 years ago, I loved it, really kickass. I read Sum Of All Fears this summer but I found it a bit disapointing compared to RSR.. only cool parts were the Berlin battle and the 2 naval encounters. But then again, I guess no East vs West book will ever beat RSR anyway, I'm drifting offtopic, I would like a Germany campaign... as long as it's more full scale than the original 1985 campaign. With aircraft, armor and infantry in larger numbers and all at once (ok, this prolly wont be friendly for lower spec comps) so you get a better feeling of war.. But then again, that would probably be unmanageble to make it perform correctly, hrm, what was I saying? I forgot, never mind.... I'm stupid

hrm, i got like 900 as OFPR Benchmark score (P3 450, TNT2, 128Mb ) But I'm upgrading this week (as soon as the store has the PSU and GFX card I want in stock again) I cant wait to experience OFP with rubb-your-buttcheecks-against-the-monitor smooth graphics

agreed, how could I forget that? anyway, just thought of some more: SNES: Top Gear and StarWing (StarFox) had some nice music GameBoy: TETRIS! "dum dudu dum dudu dum dudu dum dudu dum dududududum...etc" was brilliant (if not a bit anoying cuz the melody keeps playin in your head for the next few days )

Vice City, for its cool retro music.. VROCK being the coolest station :] C&C: I Am, Face The Enemy, Mechanical Man, Warfare, Stomp, Act On Instinct, Trouble, Grinder and the credit music for Red Alert 1 OFP: some of the normal music from OFP and OFPR and the 2 Seventh songs from OFPR... I actually coppied the entire OFP + OFPR soundtrack to minidisc so I can listen to it when not gaming Unreal Tournament had some nice songs that are some kind of mix between rock and techno.. nothing supar special tho... Gran Turismo 3 (PS2): Feeder and Grand Theft Audio rock! (so do some of the jazzy menu music themes imo) The old flightsim TFX had some nice atmospheric music, same goes for Silent Thunder... Ace Combat 04 (PS2) also had some cool music, especially the stone-henge mission and the first and the last mission... And last but not least... the old sidescrolling flight action game Jetstrike (still a very cool game imho) had funny music (if not a bit corny at some times)..

I know this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the correct thread about it anymore.... so here it goes: I keep getting a very anoying grain/noise on my textures whenever I convert them to PAC/PAA... this happens when I use GIF (I tried all different saving methods, I think) and TGA textures.. Thanks in advance for help..

actually, making a conversion is quite easy Just convert the model to 3ds, import, correct texture dimensions if needed, add lower LOD's and memory LOD, config and some minor other things and ur done...

yeah, I'm following his tutorials to increase my crap texturing abilities a bit, altho I suck at making a good looking scratch pattern So I havent been able to try and convert a 'scratched' to PAA/PAC yet

I know JPEG has no noise, I used it myself in my F2000 add-on, but JPEG also requires more cpu power... plus, some people (like Marfy and AKM74) apear to have no quality loss in their PAC/PAA files...

My first contact with games was the NES of a m8 or some cheap LCD thingy, don't remember... First "war" game I played was LucasArts WWII flightsim called Secret Weapons Of The Luftwaffe (release 1990 I think) .... anyone remember that game? [edit]talking about PC games.. anyone else remember the game from 1993/94 called Jetstrike? I loved that game (still do actually)
