That would be a nice feature...you can sort of reproduce the effect by switching to 3rd person and swiveling your head to look around a corner...

I got some of those glasses with my card as well...it looks really kewl, but if you switch from 1st to 3rd person durring the game, you probably wont want to use the glasses...it seems that the 2 views are a shade off as far as the glasses are concerned...if you optimize for one the other will be broken. (those with the glasses should understand what Im talking about)...I also found it to be a bit tricky to tweak the image without seeing the double images.

Sounds like they already have quite a bit of it done if you have indeed found some animations for it...this would be an excelent feature! BIS...please finish and impliment this feature!!!!

I would like to propose a patch eith the ability to turn AI off on dedicated servers...I would like to see the added feature of being able to both have ALL AI off when starting a mission on the server as well as not having the AI fill spots if a player drops. Id rather be using the resources elsewhere and many times players either forget or mess up in turning off the AI. Any thoughts?

those servers that run AI dependant co-op games can leave it on while player vs. player servers can turn AI off.

Yeah...Im a dumbass....I figured it out right after posting...pretty good mission...a nice change from other maps...most enjoyable if you have a good team thats willing to work together.

link doesnt work for me. Â Id like to check it out though!...forget it...been a long day... I got it now. (Edited by Suchey at 4:39 am on Dec. 26, 2001)

Cant turn it off...your best bet is to reduce the number of players in order to "make room" for the voice...it doesnt eat that much bandwidth.

I would imagine they will go away the day after Christmas

This is just a call to all of you mission editors...it seems we have a serious lack of Capture the Flag, Capture and Hold, and nearly all varieties of player vs. player type missions...there are plenty of co-op and single play missions, but quality p vs p missions are few and far between. Id like to request more player vs. player type missions from the editing community. Theres a serious void in this area and I think that anyone who decided to start producing quality missions of this type would certainly make a name for themselves in on-line community. In the meantime, Id certainly be interested in finding some good mission downloads for capture and hold or CTF...I have scoured the major sites and have all fo the good missions from those sources. Thanks in advance and have a great holiday season!

I have picked up the missions from levels4you already...but thanx for the link anyway! Some of the missions which are available out and about the community require add ons...I cant really put those on my dedicated server as they require that players download them individually...its a shame because some of them look awesome...especially the winter stuff...but I have to steer clear of it as most folks wont have th proper downloaded additions and OFP wont pass them along via the server. Something to keep in mind when designing missions for mutliplay I suppose.

I needto know the extreme basics of HTML
suchey replied to Captain Kickass's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
kinda hard to write up a complete intro to HTML without winding up with post a mile long...do you have any spceific questions? It would be easier for the community to address this way. -
Thanks...I actually have been there but found a couple new ones to try out after revisiting...keep 'em coming folks!

Hi folks...Im looking for new multiplay missions (either CTF or Capture and Hold) for our dedicated server. I have checked ALL of the major links and missions sites, but it seems that the majority of the missions are single play. There are a few good multi play DLs that we have gotten, but they are few and far between. Many of them require add-ons and such which I dont want to add to a public dedicated server as the client will have to manually download the 3rd party add on. So if anyone can point me in the direction of some good, solid CTF ot C&H missions that dont require the editor add ons or other 3rd party downloads, I would appreciate it. I have already gotten the missions which are avaialble at flashpointarena.com, ofpleague.com, @war, Mad-It, ...I was hoping that ofpeditingcenter would add some items to their mission downloads, but unfortunately, that site is not a very good resource for downloading missions yet...doesnt seem to be updated very often, the reviews are all for single player, and they date back from over a month ago. I would like to make a call out to the mission editors out there to work up some good multiplay maps. There are tons of single play missions to be found...a good multiplay mission designer could really carve out a niche for himself right now. Thanks.

There never was a Linux server in development to my knowledge. Everything I saw on the forums said that it was a slight possiblity in the future, but not a priority or something that we were promised...I too would like to see a Linux Dedicated server available, however...I wouldnt hold your breath...so either fire up winsk or run it on a linux box with emulation.
-
does it work in multiplay as well as single play without any problems?

A couple years ago...I remember people saying there was no way anyone could put together a hybrid 1st person shooter/ vehicular combat game...here we are today. Who knows...they could kick ass and make a killer add on/mod...not really fair to judge before anything is even started.
-
that actualy looks kinda kewl!!! Would be nice addition if you could work the flood into the map strategy some how!

I have XP home edition here and XP Pro at work...OFP runs great on both...no problems. It seems to be a very stable OS and I havnet had problem one yet...it also seemed to speed up the load time of OFP and got rid of the "slow-down" with the laptop graphic in game. If you have the cash to spend and dont already have Win 2k...XP is a nice update.
-
same happened here, on 2 machines...one with VIA one without...so far everything runs fine...even the maps it reported errors on...
-
Would be kewl to add the new "Land Warrior" system...complete with camera usage amongst players...sure it would be tought to get working correctly, but would be worth the effort.
-
Rumor has it that there is to be another patch released before Christmas...can anyone confirm or deny this??

Gamespy 3D now supports OFP in the registered version...Im sure that the free version is very soon to follow. www.gamespy3d.com

Quick Question...If the winter add on is placed on a dedicated server, a client that connects but does not have the add on will NOT download it from the server...correct???
