If not, please, do so - you will help us fixing the problem.<span id='postcolor'> Yes...I sent crash files for both 1.45 and 1.46...It seems as though BIS is narrowing in on the problems...I have full confidence that this will be corrected soon...thanks for the quick response SUMA...

We have also found the 1.45 seems to have introduced increased crashes. with 1.42 we had ZERO crashes...we are running the same missions, on the same computer, using the same settings...the only new factor in the equation is the 1.45-1.46 patch and since this was introduced, we find far more crashes than with 1.42...it does seem to be mission specific, but those same missions ran without a hitch in 1.42...perhaps some of the script fixes kicked in some dormant scripting in some missions which was not functioning before...I know that (at least on one mission we have) that after 1.45 the vehicles now respawn when they didnt before.

Exact same problem here...send your 'flashpoint.rpt' and 'context.bin' file to support@bistudio.com

We have also had this problem on our dedicated server...1.45 crashed a couple times a day...now wuth 1.46 the server crashes about once an hour. Had no trouble at all before 1.45-1.46...I sent the requested files to BIS...hope they fix this soon.

It really depends on your isp and what server you play on...if you can find a server that is really really close to you geographically and in number of hops, then you might be in luck...your ISP also has to be reliable or else you will drop packets and then it wont be playable.
-
maybe its heat...monotor your temp for a while while playing (if your mobo supports it)
-
Id like to know what this is too.

it looks like the following files have been changed: in Addons...bmp2.pbo in Bin....config.bin, resource.bin, strigntable.csv flashpoint.cfg was also changed as well as the flashpoint.exe I think thats it...hope it helps!

No one is really 100% sure exactly what IL is...I would speculate that since they have announced 'Resistance' officially as an add-on, that IL is going to be some sort of completely seperate product independant of OFP...in an interview with BIS, they once said that they thought OFP would have lent itself well to a persistant combat zone type game (given the proper coding)...perhpas IL will move in that direction (pure guessing here) ...the long and the short of it is that there is no official word on what IL is...we know for sure about the expanision coming June 21 (Resistance) that will offer the updated net code, new islands, etc...and the modeling tool has been talked about for a while now...in any case...these additions are sure to add a good shot of adrenaline to the OFP community at large.

I downloaded them earlier this afternoon....thanks!!

Any player vs player multiplay missions are always good to come across...Capture and Hold seem to be in short supply at the moment. As long as they arent the "pick a spot on the map and dump a truck load of vehicles on both sides" kind...thise tend to be ammusing for a couple rounds but ware out their welcome quite quickly. There are too many of those. Good quality PvP missions are always appreciated!

I notice a line in UserInfo.cfg... cadetModeMP=1.000000; it seems to work when hosting a non-dedicated server in setting the value of the difficulty to cadet, however, in dedicated servers the line seems to be ignored. Is this un-supported by dedicated servers?

If you switch between 1st and 3rd person view forget it...when you have them set correctly for 1st person 3rd person goes out of whack and visa versa...I also experienced some trouble in some of the vehicles...they certainly add ALOT to the view, but were unusable in gameplay for me...they just werent reliable enough and seemed to loase their settings alot...I was spending more time getting the glasses re-worked than laying the game...they are on a shelf now.
-
GREAT!!! Â Im Uploading them to my server right now!!! THANKS!

In case you guys missed it...SUMA reported the following... "We are designing non-DirectPlay implementation for OFP networking, which we expect to be performing much better, but it will probably take quite long before it will be available." The original post is inthis thread. Looks like this may be quite a ways off, but hey...at least its in progress!!

Use "The All Seeing Eye" click here or "Gamespy 3d" click here be sure to stay away from "GameSpy Arcade though"...

Does anyone have any info about this new OFP
suchey replied to rushman2000's topic in NEWS DISCUSSION
estimated release of March 2002...thats what it says on the website...seems like a very ambitious project...but to have it out next month?? I dont know if thats gonna happen...especially when they are still advertising that they need skinners. Who knows...it might rock...we shall see. -
It seems someone has been able to get direct X to run on linux...full story here. Could be a step toward linux servers and OFP on Linux.
-
Ive seen missions where the ai is all disabled...unfortunately, they are few and far between.
-
Id buy it just for the new net code
-
I dont know a whole lot about this kind of stuff, but if Im not mistaken...arent satchel charges made with c4??? I think you can take a blow torch to c4 and it wont explode...so maybe a shot wouldnt do it either...I may be completely off base here...anyone know for sure???
-
100% agreed....or give the admin the ability to turn ai off completely from the start for those servers which run exclusively player vs. player format.
-
there are quite a few instances where the developers have let us know whats happening...one, for example, would be the fact that they are rebuilding the net code...you just have to look in the forums harder...they are around...and from time to time you catch some good news.
-
yes...they can disarm their own satchel charges...but not ones placed by other players. The problem is in multiplay when an opposing team member puts a satchel charge by their flag pole in CTF...then when the "NATO FLAG CAPTURED BY XXX" displays, all they have to do is hit their detonate button...they can hide anywhere whithin range and not even have to physically see the enemy take the flag because the game will tell them that the guy took the flag. Its a cheap tactic...the ability to disarm enemy satchels would do away with this.
