    ineffectiveness of aircraft vs tanks

    I want to use AH1 Cobras against enemy vehicles in my missions, mostly PMC First Fight campaign and of course in the upcoming missions I do in the future. But unless BIS tweaks the engine/config/etc to balance the helicopter versus ground vehicles, its impossible for me to enjoy good mission with air support as they are shot down in few seconds like so many have stated in this topic. Please BIS hear us, tweak something to balance the aircrafts. Thank you

    As I played the 505 version of the campaign through, there was no cursing and foul language. Are you telling me that in the US version there is alot of heavy language involved? Do you have like examples? If thats the case, I would surely want to have US version campaign, not because of the foul language, but because its new content to me

    Why do distant soldier animations jerk?

    The first time with the Czech version when I noticed this it was perfectly clear to me and it got me saying "Mmm interesting..." as this is just to free up the CPU cycles when displaying the units at distance. I mean why to "model" tiny infantry movement precisely at long distances as in normal ArmA "action" they blend in the surrounding terrain anyways (well most of the time). It has nothing to do with netcode. It has nothing to do with sniping, as when you bring up the zoom, ie you look closer... the units move normal smooth way. Of course having said all that; I have zero facts to back me up, I have not seen the ArmA sources, nobody in BIS has said (to me) nothing about this, its all my normal observation and assumption. But makes absolutely perfect sense to me.

    This topic is located in ArmA disucssions, so I have to reply in ArmA in mind... what I understand now from the WRP format and island texturing in ArmA, yes you can have all BIS islands ingame and in the same map with identical ground texturing to the originals. However for OFP my previous statement stands, the texture limit in OFP is 512 and all islands combined exceeds that limit.

    The next version is under work and I have no idea when its ready, most likely not very quickly as I'm bit busy on Falcon 4 Theaters at the moment.     Spinor has posted screenshots of CoC Command Engine for ArmA, ie "CEX" and its now under development & testing. There is wishlist topic in their forum, so I suggest you head over there and voice your opinions about ultimate CE for ArmA.

    Its been explained many times, but this one is for you; in OFP the radio comms play out as long as the sound clip is, if you issue order for your AI squad members, they will not "get it" before the sound clip has played out completely, also I'm not 100% sure if there is a queue on top of that. In simple terms, while sound is playing you cannot order your men around, imagine a enemy popping behind a tree and you try to order your team member to fire him or at least make him aware that there is enemy... but no, there is bunch of useless radio chatter going on and you lose valuable seconds before the sounds are finished. WGL mod did it and now there is even addon/config for ArmA that removes them. Also I believe Suma mentioned that they tried to code ArmA so that there is minimum of this sound delay queue or what ever it can be called, but its not perfect solution as is the one we did with config here. Next version of VTE will feature optional config which has the sounds enabled. By waiting next VTE version or editing the cfgVoices.

    Quake, CounterStrike, Half Life and those average shitty shoothers where main goal is "dAnCiNg and fRaG!!1" those cause the motion sickness. Rainbow Six, Rogue Spear, OFP and so far ArmA are no problem because they are more slow tempo or otherwise "better". Also good example is Hitman Blood Money, it wont cause any problems for me... but quess what, you just slowly walk around most of the time in the game = slow tempo. Thats how my mind & body reacts.

    As seen on this topic, that mission was tweaked from user feedback, I hope its quite nice and balanced now. Hehe. I guess you missed readme, this topic and ending credits which clearly say that this campaign is work in progress, story in progress, and more missions will be added Was the other squad boarded already, did the other blackhawk took off? Which is not the way the mission was designed. I dont want to make failsafe codes for preventing players to do rambo stuff since most of PMC mission fans to my experience are the hardcore growd who are used to the vehicle transports and so on. The helo could use the setfuel 0 way to stay on the ground, but I prefer the crew to get out, yes player who wants to fly can hijack the helo then, but that is not how the mission is designed to be played.

    During campaign MENU you can open or "unlock" all the missions by pressing SHIFT and keypad - key at the same time, then typing "campaign" without the quotes. During mission you can end it succesfully by pressing SHIFT and keypad - key at the same time, then typing "endmission" without the quotes. I will most definitely fix/tweak mission number 10 (guys lets dont give out too many spoilers heh), if anyone who has played has any other tweaking suggestions, feel free to post and I'll try to make the mission more better. And you'll have them. I just cant give out any dates for new missions / version right now, its done when its done. I'm kind of concerned right now about the patch situation, all the talk about 1.05 being buggy and more sluggish than 1.04 makes me worried. I havent actually had that much playtime in there so I really don't know. I kind of would want to hold off and wait calmly to the next patch and its aftertmath at least before putting out new version of PMC First Fight. Again if anyone has thoughts about the campaign + patch scenario + anything, just post as I'm interested to hear what you guys have to say. And thanks for everyone for posting feedback, keep it coming!

    Sorry no, not yet. Yeah sorry that you have to use that for now, I'll surely check this bug report and fix it for next version. Just play as far as you can go and then endmission the mission for now. Yeah I need to be careful with the teamswitch, I'm afraid but that might be removed in the future as considering now more thorough it conflicts a bit with the character you play. I mean you have the character chosen with a name, so if he dies many times in the missions... its kind of stupid I just leeched all your SH3 videos and they are great, enjoyed them greatly. There is info on the wiki about -mod parameter. Saved dir is located in the \Documents and Settings\<name>\My Documents\Arma Other Profiles\ dir by default.

    Yeah that guy starting dead is from the saveStatus and teamswitch mixture. I start to feel savestatus is not worth it in the long run, I mean dunno if anyone compliments here how nice it is to have team status saved to next missions in these topics, but it seems that every other user has problems with it. I guess you cant get accurate and balanced reading from the usefulness of the feature reading just feedback like this. I dont know, maybe I'll just drop its usage or at least take away the teamswitch or something. I mean I dont mind reading comments that "it dont work" but I'm sad that guys try the campaign and cannot fully enjoy it as its intended to be enjoyed. Umm if that makes any sense, heh. To fix the dead guy at start, REVERT the previous mission and do the endmission cheat ending to it. Then play the mission which you start as dead and you should be fully alive and everything cool. Let me know if you have more problems with it.
