Neal Stevens from subsim.com wrote a quite good preview of the upcoming Silent Hunter 5. http://www.subsim.com/2010_02/sh5/preview_sh5_feb2010.php This guy is oldschool sub sim fan, I'd listen when he has something to say. Forget about the mindless previews on those generic game sites.

Yes. Are you? Maybe you don't understand the basics of feedback: fanboy = good trashing = bad Quite simple, eh? To explain myself even more (what I wouldn't need to do even in the first place), I even helped Eble with his Kiowa porting work, I have not intended or said anything negative towards him. Hope that clears everything up for you and nobody gets wrong impressions of your previous post. -

When I ported the BIS Apache my topic was spammed with trash talk pages and pages worth. Its ... well sort of interesting to see that you are in your way of FANBOY talk pages and pages worth as it stands now. I guess there is just something in my or PMC name that what ever it is we do in the community, we get trashed. Sad but true. Being on topic; I love your devotion to bringing some OFP models over, as you just said in what I quoted, no reason why not converting your favorite addons. So now I'm asking for the last time in public; please login to PMC forums and check the private message I have written you there. As for the public forum readers, there is nothing to showcase, development has been very slow in the past month and how things are looking right now, there is not going to be any major developments in the near future. Anybody want some details, check the never ending development diary in PMC Tactical forum VTE area. -

PMC Editing Wiki: section fixing. Well then you are minimum at 11 sections with that method. I suggest you merge the textures into one single texture. There is no magical tricks besides section fixing tutorial + merging textures to remove the excessive number of small textures (sections). If you need any further help, just ask and I'll be happy to help.

Yes its pulling name from the user profile. In the credits for me there was "SnakeMan". I think there was like four or so names, mine was last, another one I recognized and remember was modemaik. Wonder where it gathers the other names than the current playing users name...

OFP Resistance, I cant recall now, how many bushes and trees are we talking about? I'm busy with VTE and honestly not that interested of making OFP vegetation ports, but... if there isn't that many objects to go through, I might do it if I get bored enough and need a break from VTE editing. But first I need to know the full scope of the project. -

I have not installed the ArmA 2 tools yet so I don't know, but isn't the buldozer defined as arma2.exe anyways as it is with earlier o2: "d:\arma\ArmA.exe" -window -buldozer -noland -profiles=d:\armatools\armawork\ -

Well this is not an proper answer to your question technically... but How about making your island config separate from the main data (wrp + textures) during development? For example I have vte_iadrang.pbo <- wrp + textures. vte_iadrang_cfg.pbo <- config.cpp only. I even let them go to the release like that. I recall WGL and currently ACE is done like that too. If you do not like this method for release, then do your developing with it (fast) and when the final release is ready, then drop in the config.cpp into the main data pbo. Just a thought :) -

Yes I know the problem. I was looking at VTE ArmA 2 preview config and found out with Rellikki's help (thanks man, appreciated) that granQ has goofed up the config as he inherits from caManBase instead some of the more advanced classes. This is the sole reason why norrin's revive script doesn't work and the voice samples are mixed US/chernarus/russian. However I'm not here to blame granQ, yes he did bad config but I was my watch as the mod leader who released that bad config, so the buck stops here. I'll take the blame for this and get hotfix #2 out ASAP. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and sorry about the whole thing. -
