When I watched the FP2 trailers, I got the distinct impression I was looking at something closer related to Rainbow 6, than Flashpoint. It lacked the mil-feel/look of FP1. I`ll try the demo when it arrives for PC.

Not sure if this has been posted or not, but I absolutely LOVE what I see of ARMA 2 in this vid.

"Agreed. If you tire after quick successive jumps, then jumping ability deminshes." This was done awesomely in Vietcong. But, we really don`t need a jump ability. The movements we can do ingame are pretty awesome. BIS really did an awesome job with ARMA 2 character movement abilities.

If they allowed this.... then it should be like when you are running ingame now, where your crosshairs spread out and you get no shooting accuracy till you catch your breathe. I did Infantry time myself many years ago. And no way can you run, shoot from the hip, and be accurate. It`d be spray`n`pray. I got into FP/ARMA type games to get AWAY from spray`n`pray gaming, and spray`n`pray gamers. I still say leave it as is. It`d sure be nice if at some point in time we can just let the devs bring the game they wanna bring us eh? But IF BIS was to impliment the kind of hip shooting described, I say fine and dandy. But the crosshairs should be spread like they are now when running, and your accuracy goes to the crapper. There ya go. Enjoy.

I agree. Altho I do await the patch fixes/optimizing.... what I am seeing/playing is a pretty amazing experience. Big thx!!!!!!!

I have seen muzzle smoke done cheaply, and imho ARMA 2s is not done bad at all. Smoke (some)is good for close up CQB distances. I do however like muzzle flashes for long distance engagements.

"try ridding your pc of all the crap on it first" every pc gamer should religiously know how to clean out the crap, and tweak their rigs. This should be an unwritten law by now. But amazingly enough, many still just buy the rig prebuilt, and expect it to wail when it comes to games.

I too am biulding an UBER:rig. And hope that BIS builds an excellent patch update for this excellent game, so it runs excellent on my excellent UBER:rig! ;p That would be ...... excellent.

Yup, this is not the game for the thread starter. It is however the game for me. There are plenty of other games out there for the twitchers among us. But for those of us who like what ARMA has to offer, we got either ARMA 2, or FP 2. And even FP 2 looks suspect. Pretty slim pickings really. Compared to your BFs and CODs etc etc etc. I gotta say that I am not a twitch game fan. But ya don`t see simmers going into the twitch game threads complaining cause... "I take it this game isn`t for us simmers". Get me? But if 1 sim type game ala ARMA 2 shows up, and it ain`t twitch friendly????? Eh???

I got mine from Steam, but intruth ya prolly wanna hold out till the next big patch update anyways.

I use the 180.48s. Tried all the sets peeps posted here, but the 180.48s seem best for my 8800 GTX.

I love ARMA 2. Hated ARMA 1 for some reason. Didn`t grab me, but ARMA 2 does. FP 1 rocked. The worst bugs outta the gate for me for FP at release was the buggy vehicle commanding of the A.I. But.... I could do the tutorials and COMPLETE the tutorials. So playing FP even with the bugs was good right outta the gates. As much as I love ARMA 2, I can`t say the same for ARMA 2. I liked being able to adjust FPs lighting to look more gritty realistic too, ARMA 2 doesn`t have that light adjusting feature. FP didn`t have fps hardcoded to 30 fps max either. Once we see some regularly timely released patch updates, I think ARMA 2 is gonna be hard to beat for the milcombat genre.

When the bugs are fixed for the tutorial missions ie boot camp, then peeps`ll be able to play it... they will have a better idea.

I love this game. But a few bugs really get me. 1, when I go into Welcome to War, and buy an ACOG mounted rifle. I can`t reload after buying it, and when I click to fire, I throw nades till they are depleted, and then it seems I can load and fire the rifle. As well, I can`t select any inventory it seems. As in, I can`t switch between using either a nade OR rifle.

Anyone here with a Crosshair mobo? I dunno what did it exactly, but ARMA 2 is looking/sounding alot different now after a few updates. For starters, I updated to the 1207 Asus Crosshair bios. As well I reinstalled the latest 1.1.4 Dual Core Optimizer. I was complaining early how I couldn`t hear some effects like bullets whizzing by, or see other effects that other peeps were seeing. After the updates, I am seeing beauty stuff like red tracers, more smoke/dirt dustcloud effects, the list goes on. And the game is running really nice for me now. A.I. is moving around very well, same with vehicles, and the animals. I did a few earlier tweaks like the prerender = 8 , texquality= 3, texmemory=3, the normal tweak fair posted here. But tho they did seem to help, the 2 updates above REALLY worked for me. So maybe any Crosshair users out there might wanna try the bios update and 1.1.4 dual core optimizer. Can`t hurt.

I am in a the mission where you are incamp and need to go find Dressler. I wanna use a heli to get my team there, and call for transport, heli starts up. Once we are inside, I have no clue how to tell the pilot to take us there. And no, clicking spacebar, transport and clicking on the map... that doesn`t work. Ideas?

Don`t nerf the Ghillie man. Quit thinking like a gamer. At distances, it should be pretty hard to spot a Ghilliesuit amongst lowlying trees/shrubs etc etc. They blend. Same with close up. But, if they are on the move, just like spotting a man running.

Go into the config and turn your texture quality up.

I`m still wondering how to command an A.I. heli pilot to take me and my A.I. squad to a location. lol
