  1. Like others I'm happy to wait for a solid patch, I'm just eager to clean install Windows 7 with new drivers and Arma OA 1.60.

FN 2000s for the US military?

I'm not usually one to complain, and think people do go overboard with silly little things, but I do think it's about time that BIS offer a simple choice of weapon systems (new & classic) in the game to keep both parties happy from day one. As I already said, BIS have to keep fresh and change their product, but for some the Armaverse is going too far too fast. BIS will model loads of weapons for the game, it wouldn't be that much work to offer a 'classic' loadout option as part of the original game.

FN 2000s for the US military?

Like alot of people here, first glance at the new screenshots I was very excited, until I saw the FN2000 (or whatever it is), the troops look awesome in all their gear dressed up like xmas trees, but seeing a boring bullpup rifle with a tiny red-dot looks completely off, A team with that much gear on will have weapons they can spec-up to the max aswell, an FN2000 doesn't have the dimensions to handle all the options an M4 has bolted to it. I can understand that BIS want/have to give different things to new games/expansions and not use M4's in everything, but I'm not a fan. Personally I'd like to see the HK416/HK417 instead of the FN2000/M14EBR, I would assume that it wouldn't be that much trouble for BIS to create an option at the start of a campaign to offer the choice of weapon systems (copy campaign and replace FN2000 with HK416 etc).

    Re-Install of Arma2+OA+BAF

I had no issues when I re-intalled Win 7 with the same DVD/BAF installation as you. DVD: Arma 2 DVD: Arrowhead (this patches to 1.06) Patch: 1.07 Sprocket: BAF (I saved the exe previously, it asked for email and code) Patch: A2OA 1.54 Beta Patch: optional I recommend installing BAF before the 1.54 patch so it doesn't waste time installing BAF Lite first or create any issues overwriting it with the full BAF. Keep your BAF code on a piece of paper in your Arrowhead DVD case and save the BAF exe.

    AH-64D Tweaks and Features (OA)

I agree 100%, The conflict in Takistan may have more armour in it than todays Afghanistan conflict, but looking at real videos of Apache contacts (patroling or supporting troops) the Hellfire is used alot on groups of enemy, sniper positions, suspect cars or small buildings at longer ranges. The ability to put a Hellfire wherever you want (from the Apache) would be awesome.

    ArmA and CPU power

I agree on the content that developers should look at the Gameplay and extra AI, not just the Candy. I see the top-end cards that have come out in the past 12-18 months have only got better because of bigger monitors, looking for more fps at higher res with more AA/AF to polish it off. I've used Vista for over 18 months and I've yet to see anything substantial using DirectX-10 come into my life. An original 8800GTX-640 is still going to do almost everything a new GTX260-896 will do on the same CPU. Game developers on a budget will be looking at getting the best visual impact for sales reasons, so will spend most on design and visual work, meaning less on Gameplay, If balancing Candy '& Gameplay' the budget would have to be lowered on Candy to fund Gameplay, otherwise (and ideally) they would have to spend an extra 50% on making more Gameplay extras, something I'm sure most developers aren't going to get in the time given (see ArmA 1.00 - 1.04). ArmA and CPU power

an interesting read (click link below) I think relevant to this thread, Custom PC - graphics have topped out especially with the way Arma 2 is looking as regards to multi CPU support for AI. We all know (as OFP/ArmA fans) that graphics aren't everything, sometimes entertainment can come from actually playing the game, not just looking at how pretty it is  RAIDER32

    ArmA and CPU power

The problem is obviously the AI, the more men you have the more complex the processing, same happens on my games, TONS of AI slow things down alot, mainly due to masses of AI but also the number of effects (damage) that it going on aswell. If the game was optimised for dual/quad it wouldn't be a problem, so Arma 2 with multi core support shouldn't suffer with this AI lag, I'm running a E6600 @ 3.0ghz with a 8800GTS 512 btw, an E2180 ain't a Core 2 Duo, its just a Dual Core one hell of an overclock though!
