    ArmA 2 Press Coverage

Hmm... I don't know about you guys, but when comparing the early arma 2's screens and newest ones, to me it looks like the graphics' been degraded. http://www.armedassault.info/ftp/pics/news/pics1/arma2update6.jpg http://games.tiscali.cz/reviews/arma2brddojmy/picc.jpg http://games.tiscali.cz/reviews/arma2brddojmy/picf.jpg Compare to this shot, there's something magical in there that is not present in the newest shots. is it in lighting, the polygon detail or better texture resolution. Don't know The newest one's feel 'dry' to me right now. Like I am in sahara or something.

Well maybe, when you get more than 6 people in your group, you can make a fire-team of them instead assigning color-teams. Who knows.

well, we need to consider that this time the hardware pressure is much bigger too. The graphics, the AI SO I would imagine that, same scenario in Arma 2 would be much more taxing, maybe even limiting the groups to certain point. I don't know, but that's how I see it.

in squad, about 12 soldiers, and as Colonel, about 12 squads. Â Or so... Where did you get that from? In ArmA you can have an unlimited amount of soldiers in 1 group. (Sort of) http://www.arma2.com/images/stories/gallery/ARMA2-Boot-Camp-Screens_03.jpg AND http://www.arma2.com/images...._04.jpg
  6. No this is really lake.. its official now You think it will be possible to fish with some dynamite? Â I want behaviour for civs. Imagine you're playing realistic military sim...with settlers!
  7. wow, those are great. btw, I think I see a sequence in these screens. like that AT guy shooting the rocket from 200-500m.

    FP : DR - News & Discussion

if it wans't him be claiming that, we wouldn't be discusting this. if you look at the past pages, where: -in one preview, he calls himself art director for OFP1 -in many videos of OFP2, he says 'we did in the original..." -in his CodeM account he stated as "ofp1 Ai/art director" -in LinkedIn, he states OFP1 as independed project -IT READS IN HIS CV and the team wasn't that huge.. it's easy..nobody from bis recognize him. if that doesn't look like him saying it, I might just....

Lol, now if Codemasters starts to to use Bis logo in their game, everyone on this forum will be like 'calmdown' 'witchhunt' 'crazy sit' and try to make it as if codemasters didn't do anything bad. When Clive said he was part of original team for OFP1, it's like stealing others honor. Imagine, you made nice artistic picture, and then someone else comes and explains that he drew it, gets a job. Now some of you might just say it's ok, just for CodeM's sake, but in actual event, would you really just give that person your honor just like that? ofcourse not, because you were the one who drew it. it's worse than insult. and it's not a small deal in the industry.

Umm say what now? http://www.flashpoint1985.com/team/team.html Well, During Flashoint development or something close to that, was there a person at Bis offices named Clive Lindpodwhateverhissurnameis. (CodeM represantive?) Otherwise, that's damn sad of them  Clive Lindop was never involved in the development of Operation Flashpoint (the first one, not this second one that carries the same name) in any way as far as I can tell. I think it's a very legitimate question to ask Eurogamer and Codemasters what work he did in the original Flashpoint team. And what of his work is in the game he apparently created? He was never part of the Bohemia Interactive team, his name never, ever came to my attention during the whole period that we developed Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis (with myself as the project lead) and from what I gather he only joined Codemasters in October 2005, after we completed our last project with Codemasters; Operation Flashpoint: Elite for Xbox, despite the fact he lists himself in such a way that some people may believe he was “Art Director†for Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. I believe it is very sad that Codemasters are not satisfied simply with owning the Operation Flashpoint name and are also trying to copy everything that made it good and replicate it (how creative is that?), but it sounds like they are also trying to behave like they really are the people behind the development of the original classic Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis. Weird. I really like competition, so Operation Flashpoint 2 (or whatever it’s called today) is good additional motivation for us to make a better game, but this type of attitude is completely unacceptable to me. I would like to repeat some facts: we worked on the first Operation Flashpoint for a very long time (since 1997), we signed the deal with Codemasters in August 2000 and the game launched in June 2001. I believe that speaks for itself. To anyone interested in learning more about the road to Flashpoint, I definitely suggest our post mortem over at Gamasutra. Im not in law or anything but can't you sue? If they are really claiming to be behind the original other than being the publisher; I mean you guys do own the copyrights and everything to OFP except for the name right? That's like me finding the mona-lisa and saying that i created it and try to make a profit from it. (bad example i know) ------------------------------------------------------- And to the BF2 similarities: When i first noticed this picture i thought it was BF2 seriously... Source: OFP2.info When I saw that picture, I thought that was from COD4 Multiplayer
  15. http://www.bistudio.com/images/stories/honza/hlava_cooper.jpg I am amazed by this laser technology, and had before, but in this it made nice work, but still little far from the actual guy.
  16. Thats kinda strange, as to me that sounded like a mix of Chezh and Russian. Are you sure it's possible to subtitle this thing? I find it cool, how In the previous video, the Chedaks' start the fighting, and in this news report, the Defence force is battling them already for few days, not next video could show how Russians will intercome to this situation, and when the game get's released, well see US Marines situation, as they come to this soil.
  17. I would rather have Ace-way down by devs, as it's more official, also will work in engine (not trying to find a way to insert it in throught pbo's) Official, In-engine features usually work better, are more professional and are well integrated, and no Mod conflict.

    FFN MOD

I don't get it. How are you supposed to use arty support? I put arti-support on a map and it says 'artillery support available'. But how do I call for it?
  21. is not: Just because there wont be a 30 minute startup procedure doesnt mean that it will be any shorter then in ArmA1. You took that quote out of its context. Â I think he was talking about that procedure will be shorter than one in Arma 1.
  22. the only things I didn't like about the video, are: - The night shooting, the flames coming from the guns seem to have ofp1 sydrome, the 16bit 2d image. -The vehicles (especially helicopter) details seem to be so epic that soldiers don't fit in the scenery (feels like they don't belong in there) -The soldiers heads annoy me, when they watch one direction and robotically change randomly (during fire-fighting they watch another direction, like their head doesn't seem to follow what the entire body is doing)  The soldiers need more personalization. again, they don't fit in the scene with such detailed vehicles with persona. -Arma  sounds? - "2, go to that, tank, 8 o'clock"? Other than that I liked what I saw in the footage. Â
  23. at first I thought so too, but that's a ricochet from the machine gun
