  1. I'm RockSteel age 46 and I am looking for an ARMA 3 Milsim Group. I don't mind the Yes Sir , No Sir requirements. I find that that type of environment keeps everyone grounded. I don't mind being the guy expected to rearm, refuel and repair a vehicle during an op. I don't mind being dropped off 5000 meters from the objective IF that is what's needed to effectively complete the mission. I currently work 40 hours a week for a LE Agency. I am not a cop however it is the reason why I can be an effective teammate that will follow the rules as they're written and apply to everyone else. My work hours are 2100 to 0500 hrs PST . I can more than likely play between 1300 and 1830 hrs on days that I have to work. I have played arma since the German release of ARMA 1 in Feb. 2006. I believe there is always something new to learn about ARMA and I'm all for listening and learning what ever it is I need to know. I play other games as well. When there isn't much to do within the unit I like to move to a game channel if possible and chill out playing games like Train Sim 2014, Farm Sim 2014 and Sim City. I mind my own business and stay out of the way of others. I can get along just fine with most people. Once I join and if I'm accepted I am willing to do what's needed for the unit . That's pretty much it. If you contact me please do so in a pm . Thanks for reading, RockSteel

    ArmA Mid Week Battles

The maps we use for the battles are made by Iceman and Sputnik.Neither of them is a member of 16AAB.As far as I know anything used that's made by someone else having to do with the maps we use is given credit for it.WWS you and your team are more than welcome to sign up for a battle and see for yourself how they're run.Go to http://www.9thinfantry.org and register in the forums.Leave a message in the public discussion area if you're team is interested in joining a battle and I will personally set you up on a team for a future battle.

    ArmA Mid Week Battles

The maps are made by Sputnik and Iceman. The maps are alot of fun. Each map made for the battles is meant to be even more fun than the last. The more teams that jump on board with MW Battles the more fun is had by all involved. We have now have enough teams that we've expanded and now have Weekend battles to give the European players a place to mix it up with those living elsewhere.

    ArmA Mid Week Battles

***Updated Post*** New webiste for the ArmA Mid Week Battles. http://www.armabattles.com It's in the beginning stages but the forums are up and running. The 9th Infantry Division is now hosting Team vs. Team battles every Wednesday evening. These battles are organized and run by the 9th Infantry Division Able Company members. Who: Established teams of the ArmA community. What:Battle on Advance and Secure maps of various sizes. When:Every Wednesday evening battle start time is between 6:30pm and 6:40pm pacific Where:The 9thInf Mid Week Battles Server Why:There are very few organized events in the ArmA community. The few that exist take place on weekends with times adjusted for the Euro players. How:Several teams combine to make up 2 40 man teams. The teams that have battled it so far are 1-8thMarines,TacticalGamer,9thInf,3rdInf,LSA,506th-PIR,82nd AB,31stMEU and USMC Warriors. A total of 7 battles have already taken place. Each of the smaller battles are fought on a different part of the map each week.Very soon the battles will take place on the south island and will have more than 12 flags to secure in order. How it all works is one of the larger teams initiates a battle and contacts another large team. The 2 agree on the total players on each team for the battle. An example of this is on October 17 the 9th Infantry teamed up LSA and 1-8thMarines to take on TacticalGamer and 31stMEU in battle with 11 flags to secure. This past week on 1 November the 9th Infantry,506th,82ndAB,3rdInf and about 4 players from Theatre of War teamed up to take on LSA,1-8thMarines and A-Team. Teaming up this way allows the smaller teams that don't have enough members to make up a large squad a chance to jump into a large scale battle. Most of the time squads are 6 members.Larger teams bring anywhere from 15-20 players. The smaller teams bring anywhere from 5-10 players.Of course the time the battles take place effect different times more than others. The requirements to play in these battles is you must be part of a team. You must have a legit copy of ArmA.10 digit ArmA id numbers are not allowed. If you are part of a team and you're interested in joining the battles go to http://www.9thInfantry.org ,register on the forums and leave a post in the Mid Week Battles Thread telling of your interest in participating.I will contact you as soon as possible and hopefully get your team lined up for the next Mid Week Battle. There are now Weekend Battles that take place at 6:30 pm pacific time. {9thInf}RockSteel*A* ArmA Team Leader Md Week Battle Admin
  7. Today I installed the XAM 1.3 mod. After installing it my ArmA quit working.I unstalled the mod then the game when it wouldn't work after removing the mod.The 1st time I removed the game I left the files in the Documents folder. That didn't work so uninstalled again this I removed everything in the documents folder. I used the control panel to unstall then removed any lingering folders that didn't leave the 1st time.I still have the same problem except now when I try to reinstall I get a message telling me that ArmA is already installed and if I want to install again anyway. I need to know what the best way is to fully uninstall ArmA so that there is no trace of it at all before I try installing the game again. Thanks in advance for any help I might get.

    US-based clans?

You can check out http://www.9thinfantry.org We work together in squads,we communicate via teamspeak. We don't require you to be on as much as other clans do. Come and try the 9th infantry servers out.We have admins at almost all hours of the day.If you want you can join our teamspeak. We are organized. The way for you to confirm all of this I've typed is jump on and play ArmA with us.95% percent of our ArmA team members have played ArmA with us and joined our teamspeak before deciding to join. All you need is a good attitude and the desire to play in a squad.

    Scrims vs 9thInf

The 9th Infantry has been building it's team for ArmA since Feburary.I believe the team is ready to scrim any ArmA team in the community.I think the 9th can gather between 10-12 people on at least 2 nights a week.Post here if you're interestedI in some friendly scrims on some player made maps. The maps could be Berzerk maps or maybe some maps that 9thInf Goon has made.To check out his maps join our 1.05 25 man server. If you filter 9th in ArmA you will see both of our servers.Goon has made over 300 maps for OFP and has at least 30 maps for ArmA already to go.The scrims will be played on the 9ths' 25 man server with a pw applied.

im sick of all these BF2 NOOBS

The cure to all these new people to ArmA from whatever game they come from is Quake Wars Enemy Territory. When that game is released some, hopefully all of the trouble we see in ArmA should go away.

Despite the rampant disgust of BF2...

The 9th Infantry Division Able Company has 2 servers and one of them runs coop all the time.I have to agree that the Berzerk missions IMO are as close to BF2 as you're going to get in ArmA. SlipperyJim your name sounds familiar I think you've been on the 9th Infantry server for ArmA.If anyone would like to play Evolution with very good teamwork and comms filter 9th in ArmA join the 9th Infantry server running 1.05 .There are at least 10-12 people on everynight. We move in convoys once Pariaso and Samato are cleared. We've cleared everything on the south island in about 2 hours using teamwork, comms and good tactics.

Despite the rampant disgust of BF2...

The 9th Infantry Division has a teamspeak and 2 servers for ArmA.1 server is for 1.05 and runs missions most of the time. The second server runs 1.06 and is mostly used for Evolution 1.5a  . Back in Feb. We had one server going with v1.05 .There weren't very many people coming in that played in squads. As soon as the recruiting picked up and I was allowed by those in charge of the 9th to open up teamspeak the number of people coming on to play ArmA and use the 9th Infantry Teamspeak took off. We've had as many as 20 people on teamspeak and out of those 20 7-10 of them were from the Arma gaming community.Almost all of the people that have joined our teamspeak as non 9th members have since joined the 9th Infantry. The teamwork and comms are great alot of people are looking for .This experience and we have it pretty much every night. If you filter 9th you will find both or our servers in the list.
