I find when using ace and zeus units still use formation tactics - covering, pairing off, havent seen em use smoke yet tho but find no problems otherwise

Found BF2 better than OFP:DR wanted to try it, kinda annoyed I wasted money on it but hey you live and learn. On a good note its great kudos for ARMA 2 and just shows how much hard work BIS have put into the game.

One of the greatest things about this mod is the AI improvement, in a FR Team I find I can command my squad effectively especially in CQB environments and find they dont need any babysitting, I dont mind as much that they take a bit longer to get to theyre destination. Fantastic work Solus.

Sounds like bloom to me try disabling post processing if it is then the halo chicken from mars should revert to its alter ego - buck buck from novy sobor.

I personally can do without a few screws tbh just to get them released. They look bloody awesome stalker great work buddy. -
Ah yes the ARMA 2 first aid module was present - sorry should have checked - maybe a conflict there will try testing without it and get back to you. As far as lag was concerned I havent had any lag problems with your recent version. If I lose slx wounds do I also lose the individual effects on the body when hit - ie weapon drop etc (because I do like those features and would like to keep em). Checked removal of the first aid modules seemed to help the issue - think Ill keep slx wounds tbh rather than use the first aid modules - find it a bit more realistic and more tense.

Hi solus with regards to my previous post the Hold Fire activated after a successful secop to destroy an enemy position, there was no other enemy activity in the area at the time so it wasnt a major problem at the time but took a few return to formation orders to get em back into line. The non responding medic happened after I was playing a team leader of a force recon team in chernogorsk, I was on overwatch while my squad was securing the area when I was shot, after that Number 2 took command and I was unable to get any response from any medic including my squad medic to come and heal me. Also the heavy gunner was standing next to me but didnt come to my aid either. With regards to the dragging system I understand what you are saying but would like to know if I was to take out SLX_ wounds would it have any other detrimental effect on the other parts of the SLX mod.

The AI seem handle very well with this mod and I am impressed with your work solus. However there are a few things I found which could be changed. 1] Every now and then the ai go into hold fire mode. Dont know if this is intended but its a major bugbear when I cant command effectively my own squad members. 2] The wounding system is very nice but in one situation I was wounded and my own squad medic didnt come to heal me even when requested. Though in hindsight the other 5 members of my team did clear the area of vastly superior numbers without loss (Thumbs up on that point). Which PBO do I remove to get rid of the dragging wounded members thing as at the moment I find the first aid module sufficient for this task. Overall awesome work buddy your time and effort is very much appreciated.

Arma II is going on the shelf...
Jingle replied to IrishDeviant's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Arma 2 runs fine on my machine, when operation flashpoint came out it took years for me to run it on full settings, personally I think BIS have done a lot alongside the community to optimise this game so far with much more to come. With operation flashpoint each hardware upgrade and patch improved the game and added an extra wow factor, same for arma 2, dont get me wrong there are a lot of bugs in arma 2 but it makes it far from unplayable even on my mid - low end system, and to be honest I am grateful for a game which is a masterpiece of digital art which provides an open ended platform for the developers and the community which has a shelf life of many many years. I think the problem with most games of this genre for me is they have no long term appeal and eventually like rocky films get buried by the next sequel. Arma 2 is not a game where you will get maxxed everythings running at 100 fps and for that I am glad as it will remain on my system as I upgrade through the years. -

If we are going cold war then I would love to see a Victor Bomber one of the meanest looking aircraft ever to be constructed. Also a Soviet Typhoon class submarine for a Red October scenario would be very cool. -
PROPER projects - game tweaks of all sorts
Jingle replied to .kju's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Just tried the low setting, hats off again Kju works nicely. If this was implemented for buildings it would make the game even slicker. -
I had this card yes, but upgraded to a 9500gt - found the 8400gs ok but was a shame having to run at 800 x 600, granted that was before patch 1.03 so you may find a performance boost, I would however suggest you run on normal settings with post processing off.
-
Depending on your cpu you may get 20+ fps on that resolution with that card, you may want to try out victor fabaus fps booster as well to increase performance, but personally I find 14 + fps very playable.

Like the film 300 where every frame is a masterwork of artistry - this combined with the object distance tweak makes ARMA 2 into not just a game but a visually stunning work of art, man I dont know whether to shoot or just stare in awe at the scenery. Good Job :) Would love to see Mogadishu type maps with this process flying along the coastline in blackhawks. -

Why is OFP campaign so good and arma2 so bad ???
Jingle replied to jctrnacty's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Apart from the few bugs I found Harvest Red an awesome campaign, the operation flashpoint campaign was good at its time but doesnt even touch Harvest Red IMO. -

'Cipher' - full dynamic [SP & MP/Coop] with unlimited replayability
Jingle replied to wiper's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Great mission tho but a few points. 1] Drove to junction about 1000 metres from polana (objective). BTR-90 parked in the middle of the road didnt react to our truck right in front of it (should have died there and then). Got out and took it out with a SMAW. 2] Cleared polana of infantry and light vehicles - had trouble with a tunguska which thought it was invincible - (either that or terribly bad aiming on my part). Ran up to it with satchel charges (it didnt engage me) placed the charge - it drove away (LOL - Benny Hill chase began eventually cornered the fierce beast behind a shed and blew it up). 3] Found the case couldnt interact with it. Now I know the 2nd point isnt really a mission design fault - more just stupid ai - but im wondering if there is a scripted patrol route for it which is interfering with the excessively stupid ai (apart from the fact the benny hill chase was very fun and unique). -
How do I command A.I. crewmen not to stick their heads out hatches?
Jingle replied to BF2_Trooper's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Seems to be a bug, 1] The turn in command isnt available via command menu 2]When you enter the vehicle as a passenger you cant turn in to enable your crew to do so. 3] Also when a passenger of the vehicle the crew wont engage enemy even when fired upon until you exit the vehicle. -
Object drawing distance tweak
Jingle replied to .kju's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
AMD 5000 2 GB DDR 2 - 800Mhz 9500GT Tested Very high on all settings flying around cherny with a av8b - vd 8000, (resolution 1024 x 768 @100 percent fillrate) FPS hit 30 mark while flying - all I can say is Kju you are a god amongst men. Also tested on a very busy map - chernogorsk with about 500 units fighting went from normal to very high settings and adjusted view distance between 1600 and 10k. Found my FPS didnt drop much to be honest about 3 - 4 fps from low to high end - (granted my system was crawling at 4 fps at max settings due to all the activity). In conclusion this mod has very little negative impact at all - in fact it improves my options so much that i am able to test on very high settings at 10k vd. Will test further and post in this spot.
