  1. I started to write some text about this topic and arma3 splendid sandbox system...eventually gave up.

    anyways...

I am officially announcing that I will pay $5 for third-party premium DLC for Arma 3 ( BIS's quality check pass needed ) containing only 2  items. well, actually one:

    1. new splendid flag animation!

second requirement for payment is that the DLC must not to contain word "splendid" in any form. Ingame or outside game...word "splendid" must not be mentioned in any relation to "Flag third-party premium DLC for Arma 3"

  2. Launcher version: 1.5.136739

    Game version: 1.63.136741

    Branch: development

Massive performance improvement. As of now. little to none LOD switching.

Also, I like new compass for soldiers  ;)

    @BIS

Have you done something with lightning or shadows, looks different and superb

  3. Given Arma has traditionally been CPU-bound with most modern GPUs under-utilized that actually sounds like progress. Won't make the simulation run faster but at least hardware is better utilized (to good effect).

Having said that, CPU load is never < 60%.

This gives room for next stage of Arma3 development. Which IMO should be mid textures, particle effects, object destructions and "removal of star wars tracers" :)

  4. Nothing to do with AMD CPUs

I sport a core i5 2500K oced to 4.9 Ghz (this shit is fast) and the same problem occurs when aiming with a scope in the jungle, heavy performance hit. "It is a bug"

    Don't think so ;) .

Core i7 2600K @4.7 and AMD 7950@1175. Same issue as you have. Did some tests and eventually ended up with conclusion that AA ant ATOC are killers for jungle. At least for AMD 7950's.

Smooth 50-60FPS jungle with no zoom. When zoom it goes 40-55 and while in Marshall's scope as low as 15-20 with following:

    FSAA: 4

    ATOC: Trees and grass

    PPAA: SMAA Standard

    Other: Ultra @100%

    AO: Disabled

Now, with these there is 60FPS no matterr what I do and zoom

    AA: Disabled

    ATOC: Disabled

    PPAA: SMAA Standard

    Other: Ultra @100%

    AO: Disabled

I do agree when AA and ATOC have been disabled game looks like crap, and like beyond 2000. Jungle foliage is made differently than houses and regular woods, that's why there is 60fps on Altis even in multiplayer.

So, Arma3 Tano is AA demanding. GPU is on 100% load just running around Tanoa, while Altis in multiplayer gives cca 75% GPU load

  5. For low FPS when zooming or near dense foliage...ATOC* is the guy you need to tackle ;)

With i7 2600K@4.7 and AMD 7950@1175/5200 (Normal/High/Ultra/SMAA settings), there is decent if not superb 40-60 FPS. Where on Altis and Stratis is like 55-60FPS

*ATOC is heavily used with trees, bushes, grass etc.

Also, lowering Object and View distance <= 1500m will give you boost in framerate. Tanoa is a jungle, hills and foliage are everywhere, so you might not see objects further then cca. 1500m anyways

P.S. When in Marshall and in zooming, FPS goes 15-25FPS doing nothing

  6. I think the Game Updater isnt working, as ive just found out after installing. May have to switch to main branch to dev

At least it seems like you need to use Steam directly (dev branch) for Tanoa at this point.  GU will probably work Soonâ„¢.

    Seems to be working now.

    thank you for heads up.

  7. Good lord!,

does every single topic that has anything to do with balkans has to go down the drain?!!. I mean...Damn!, i see only stupid talking...just let the mod live, and do not take time and energy for guyz who are working on it.

there are other places for "we against them-we won you loose". Please do not spread poison over this epic forums.

  8. Hmm, i still am having no luck getting it to run as a mod, arma 2 crashes every time. I can run it easily by adding modlines to the "sortcut to arma 2 beta patch" in the main arma 2 directory, but that seems to be the only way.

Cut/Paste arma.exe from beta folder to game root folder. Make shortcut, add all parametars you want and you can use beta as mod folder. I have done that way to use ATI Tray Tool :)

To all wise people :)...what FramesAhead command actualy do?, what settings should i use for ATI 4870 and 17' LCD?

  9. ...got it, install it, try it, F4, and that's it!

Only plus is constant 124 FPS on high video settings, AA and AF max :).

Then...fired up ArmA2 and it was like - 'OMG i can see!, there are colors, textures, ambient, lightning...allthough with 30+ FPS but who cares i'm alive :)
