Ambush is quite nasty at times. When I first played it my squad were killed very quickly, and then papa bear informed me that I had to find my own way out. Sure enough tanks came rolling up the hill from the village and kept firing at me until I was dead. I hated it at first but over time I managed to keep my squad alive and finally retreat to the chopper on the beach. Damn annoying

Is this CO1 Convoy mission in the single player mission category where your convoy is ambushed, so you have to recover and head back to the village where you have to hold out against soviet tanks and mechanized infantry? If so, beating those bloody tanks that surround the village is impossible!

Bush is a torn leader, he wanted (and still does) to be a little more isolationist but the September attacks forced him out of that and made apparent the necessity of continued intervention in world events. A euro army? I heard and read about it but it seems a bit of long shot. Some euro countries dont get on well with each other (more often than not) unofficially, and what with right-wing extreamism increase in Europe and all that...

Britain did not need re-building after WW2. It only needed to take on the economic solutions from the plan, because a good deal of Europe with whom it had some trade agreements with collapsed. The Marshall plan helped boost the European economy as well as rebuild split Germany and westernn europe, especially because pretty much the US and western Europe did not want communism from the east spreading over to the west.

I do recall reading (and seeing pics of) someone making a C-130 model to drop troops from on the OFPEditingcenter forums. I think it was for use in a Falklands war mod though I'm not sure whether they were used in the conflict. not sure. The model itself was last seen untextured but nonetheless it looked good.

What about the Steyr AUG, then? what if the resistance was re-equipped with them instead?

Hiya all. I just wanted to start a forum discussion on the Spetznaz, and possibly the resistance. The Spetznaz are cool in OFP because they are different, and probably because they are rarely publicised about. We hear a lot of general talk about some of the western special forces, but none of the east. In OFP we suddenly get the chance to play a Russian special forces soldier. I was just thinking that we could talk about it. Anything, missions, weapons, uniforms, etc. I used to particpate in large squad battles in the Infantry in OFP, but now, especialy in multiplayer missions, I have a bigger interest in being in a smaller special forces unit, especially when you partake in missions that editors create where you get dropped behind enemy lines for sabotage missions or as a sniper team. Actually, if any of you have created cool missions like that I'd like to enquire about them.

But that's exactley it! Because the resistance are a ragtag bunch of poorly trained soldiers, they have a serious challenge on their hands against the two superpowers on their turf. They have cool uniforms like someone mentioned earlier seen in the Bundeswehr, and they get crap passed down weapons and hardware that have been phased out from the Soviet armories long ago. And unlike both sides, the resistance ideally know more about their own island than the superpowers. They can set traps, minefields, temporary forest hideouts, etc. in OFP it would be great to create a campaign (in parallel to the major one currently being made) based on the resistance fighting both sides to get them off the island.

Tell you what, designing a Jungle mission using jungle Everon with the Spetznaz is cool, especially when the weather's bad. I quickly made some so that my Spetznaz squad paradropped into the forest, where we proceeded on foot to raid a village held by the resistance. The good thing is, as I started this topic as Resistance, you can play as FIA soldiers. Mix these into the equation and you get a cool little mission. We used the Bisons and swiftly ran into the village, catching the FIA troops by surprise as they were at ease. To add insult to injury, we put satchel charges under two T-55s they had there and blew them up, but only when we had made it to the coast for extraction.
