Specs of your computer would be helpful. My guess is that you have an integrated gfx card that doesn't have enough memory. One possible solution is that you go in options and disable multitexturing.

That's because the bug is still in 1.40 and it can be used with 1.42 in multiplay. So if a bunch of people are playing and one of them has 1.40 then the bug may occure.

S-VHS provides significantly better image quality than, say, NTSC. S-VHS outputs are routinely found on camcorders, commercial and high end consumer video recorders (decks), laserdisk players, and commercial video editing systems.
