1. Quote[/b] ]As time passed we were not only taking everything from the PC version to put into Xbox but we were also improving and reworking all game assets as well as the game engine, to fully utilise anywhere that the Xbox's power was not pushed to the limit.

wonder if theres some really awsome new surprises being still being kept secret... maybe multiple gun positions on vehicles? M67's that bounce off of walls/objects? water that isn't deadly? i know there are definitly some new types of soldiers, you can see one of them in the animation of the official page. looks like a Everon or Nogova soldier.

  2. Once again I'm amazed by the difference in 'shading' the politics in the US and the EU have.

Against gay marriage, abortion and such : seems very conservative to me. :x

I may not be very well informed, but I don't really see many good things Bush has done for the US. Weak economy and dollar, huge resources for a war, increasing poverty at home, etc.

Then again, I can't say I actively follow US politics, the snippets I do pick up are of course largely coloured by the media which supply them. Can't make an assesment as accurate as I could if I was an American citizen. smile_o.gif

IMO, i don't think neither the EU or the US at the moment are any better or worse than the other. both have the exact same problems, unemployment, natural disasters, social security issues and from what i hear poverty is also a problem in the EU paticulary in Germany. i even hear there are some rather unpleasant ghetto's in Paris where many of the immigrants live i believe a fire broke out not long ago and killed some people.

  3. music was a fairly a important part for OFP, so i created this thread to see if anybody had listened to any good albums they may have just got.

Today, I picked up MCR's new album "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" and it's very good. anyone interested can watch some of the music video's on the group's web page in the media section

    http://www.mychemicalromance.com/

i highly recommend watching the music video for "Helena", it's the best song on the album.

  4. Will we be able to make our own missions from these game types, Do these game types have templates confused_o.gif

    Capture the flag

    Sector Control

    Hold Location

Cause on the website it only says thse templates

    • Basic •

Get from point A to B, alive.

    • Target •

Eliminate a specific unit, and reach the extraction zone.

    • Defender •

    Hold off the enemy attack.

Can't i just choose map and put some troops on it and then go play that mission.

is any mention that the mission template can be changed during game?

    example:

your assualting a town full of enemies and after you clear the town, you must immediatly defend it from a counter attack.

  5. i read about this on guardian.co.uk, and had the picture of the soldier escaping the burning vehicle. but whats the story w/ the jail break? why not ask for the release instead of trying to bail him out.

  6. I've seen half of it but I got to say he is some times convincing, though I think it's mostly bullshit.

When we are on the subject:

For you new members, my avatar has nothing to do with my political view.

So why do you have it?

But i guess its like people who wear clothes with him on, they don't understand anything to with him.

what better way to insult him, than to capitalize his name and image. smile_o.gif

  7. Not the R-word!!

What's up with Bush and others insisting that the displaced people of NO are not to be call refugees? Isn't that what you call people forced to flee their homes and seek refuge elsewhere?

The Whitehouse suggests that the refugee title is too demeaning for American citizens. What an obnoxious slap in the face to the millions of refugees scattered across the globe. When American leaders imply that the value of individuals is primarily assessed through what they possess then they ultimately just reinforce a nasty stereotypical view that the rest of the world holds of Americans being superficial and hyper-materialistic.

    :unclesam:

that wasn't him. that was somebody who was interviewed on CNN i can't remember who it was and i can't find the interview.

  8. not that i don't care about the environment, or deny that global warming exists, but im getting real tired of reading these superstitious claims that the huricane was a result from not signing the Kyoto agreement. i find it almost as distasteful as the repent america link, claiming it was god's wrath on a city of sin. C-5 huricanes are going to be a reality w/ or w/out global warning and people seem to wana ignore the geography of the area. signing the agreement wouldn't have changed the outcome anyway. it was a disaster waiting to happen and nobody did anything about it.

  9. Iraq was kept together by force when Saddam was running it. unless were willings to put him or somebody similar back in control, i think that country is just going to have to be divided up into 3 different smaller nations. would be a step up from a civil war.

  10. The model is the of the Boeing Blended Wing body (BWB) concept. A few years ago boeing propsed it to the airlines. The project has some great benefits, reduced takeoff distance becuase of the fuselage shape, reduced fuel requirements due to the reduced power needs due to the increase in lift etc.

But there was really only one stumbling block... The reluctance of the airlines go with an unproven design vs the more conentional shape. It was felt that the average air traveller would not feel comfortable travelling in such an unsual air plane and that the lack of windows would prove to be unpopular.

The design itself is quite fuel efficient, has increase payload to weight capability vs conventional airframes but is dependant on composites to keep the weight down to the point where it becomes an economic balance between costs and cargo.

While the airline rejected Boeing's proposal it heavy lift capability is being investgated as a transport plane!

    Info Link aerospaceweb.org

Info Link - Some background stuff

nice links, that Boeing 763-246C looks nice but i doubt it'll go into production. which is good because i hope they focus on the blended wing concept.

  11. drugs aren't the main reason for violent crime. i would rather see marijuana decriminalized. why should the government waist billions fighting a loosing battle trying to keep it out of the nation when they could just as easily make billions selling some weed. besides its not as if its any more dangerous than alcohol or tobacco.

  12. Quote[/b] ]The initiative is bringing together leading academics from Cambridge University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with an extended 'Knowledge Integration Community' of representatives from all parts of the civil aerospace/ aviation industry. Members of the 'Silent' Aircraft Community are working together, sharing knowledge and developing the design for an aircraft that has noise reduction as its primary consideration. Partners already include BAA, British Airways, the Civil Aviation Authority, Lochard, Marshall Aerospace, National Air Traffic Services, the Royal Aeronautical Society, and Rolls-Royce.

In August 2004 The Boeing Company signed a memorandum of understanding allowing the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to use some of its advanced design software to design and analyse aircraft that are being considered as conceptual design candidates. They were joined in late November by Cranfield University, whose academic staff and postgraduate students will be joining the research work on airframe, and engine, design.

  13. all i've ever heard was his broken record speaches of "staying the course" maybe when fatalities reach 2000, there can be some plans for impeachment... not as if there isn't enough dirt on him:

1.criminal history were talking about real felonies here not some parking tickets

    2. possibility of being AWOL during his military service. he managed to worm his way out that one when Sadam was caught

    3.lying about WMD in Iraq

    4.Prison Abuse scandal

    5.CIA leak

    6.Social Security plan

    7.Imigration Policy

    8.Eviromental Policy

    9.CAFTA

10.Eminent Domain. probaly my favorite... he abused eminent domain himself back when he was running the Texas Rangers when he was supposed to be running the state he was governer of. claimed his $191 million stadium in Arlington was a "Public use" like highways, schools ect..

    11. he hasn't provided any of the internal documents on John Roberts

12.Stem Cell research policy,he doesn't have any objection to sending 1800 soldiers to their deaths, but heaven forbid using some embro to cure diseases. real compasionate conservative.

    13. appointing Bolton as UN Ambassador when congress was out

  14. sanctions might be more effective, not to many nations are able prosper w/out being in the WTO. plus the younger generations don't seem to have much love for their ayatollah's at the moment and seem kind of friendly to westerners. trade sanctions might cause the government to collaspe or even overthrown.

  15. i don't think its nothing, all they are doing is pulling out a space filler thats sticking out. NASA said they had problems w/ these before but didn't have the orbital boom installed than so they couldn't really do anything about it.
