I´d rather have an 1 month delay just to see the first game ever to have realistic tracers and the supersonic crack of a bullet, it would be one of the biggest additions to battlefield ambiance imo. And better impact effects.

I wonder why they bother posting stuff since 60% of the boards seems to lack the concept of Alpha status. I would not be as giving, i´d put out polished screens and retouched rendered vids, but we dont want those right? When the game has had beta status for a while and/or a demo has been released, then you can start to compile lists of bugs/changes/requests.

I´ve heard that the future weapons projects didnt qualify in alot of areas, not advancing enough to start switching current hardware. One of the bigger problems was weight issues. I think the M16/M4´s will be mainstay for another 10 years, a new rifle would have to excel in all repects, weight/lethality(ammo)/versatility/cost/reliability, one is just not good enough. All other "minor" us army weapon uppgrades like the Springfield 1861 > trapdoor system, M1 > M14 has been shortlived in service and probably much too costly.

Bullets deflect VERY often, its just that you dont see it unless its a tracer, you can bounce a bullet off jello if hit at the right angle. The force of the bullet makes it stay on cource unless it hits a pretty angled surface.

Pure comedy to read some of these comments! It´s like watching zebras on Discovery, one of them smells his own fart in the air and suddenly everyone is shouting doom and death while running around fleeing the imminent threat. BIS makes a broad spectrum "sim" for gamers, modders make the specialized stuff that keep the community broadbased. In the end BIS will have made an exellent game that can be customised to everyones flavors, from the American civil war to Star Wars.

Been reading the stories from the guys in SOG on http://www.macvsog.org/the_stories.htm These sorts of missions would rock!!...we need more missions on evading contact and staying hidden while CAS do your fighting.

I *HOPE* they make it alot harder to hit the runners at long range, bullets seem to move to fast and drop seems way to low.

I have only worked on one game sofar, but i know how tight NDA´s (non disclosure agreements) can be. As an example, the devs might be dealing with publishers that either dont want anything out yet or want to be the ones that greenlights any material. (my situation) I´m not happy about the situation either, but there is not much to do about it since there might not be any updates on media until they have decided on the publisher. And yes, it was a 1 on 1 snipeout...didnt even use binocs for fear of the quite "visual" animation giving me away. Alot of prestige when fighting your little brother

Big respect for those that keep their hopes up and their spirits high!!....for the other peeps in the audience, i have this minor to say.. I waited for the first game in the forums for a VERY long time, i remember alot of the old names here. Still i dont see them do alot of bitching (cant remember to much bitching back then too). And it might be OPF 1.5 and you should be happy for the chance of getting it.....why?, alot of people here has played this game for years and years and countless people have contributed their time to get mods and conversions done just for the love of the game and the community. I could go into all the other games i have waited for in forums only to feel totally cheated when i got to try their "revolutional" hyped game....but i wont as i get the feeling most of us have been there. I have played tonnes of games out there after OPF and found only two or so to be worthy to be on my hd fulltime, Richard Burns Rally and Dangerous Waters....all else is just seasonal. Bohemia are THE guys in the biz that i have found to be trustworthy, and when they take their time they do it for a reason...they have no intrest in creating havoc. I got work so i need my 5 hours of sleep, but this forums should be more united in their support and trust of BI, remember this is the only game in town. PS. I thought OPF taught patience....i once waited in a clearing for 4 hours waiting for a good shot on my brother And if you are tired of waiting, go get laid/pissed/play something else ffs, tantrums are for babies.

I must say i love these dynamic missions, feels more real to have these sort of missions and not usual "plant this bomb on the tank and escape with that Cessna". Not my cup of tea, this on the other hand totally rewrites the OPF experience. To bad the AI isnt up to the challenge, only once or twice have i been bumrushed, it is really scary when it happens. Thank you for the effort guys!!

^^ I did this too after a patrol on DMA Delta, called for extract and my dear local A10 came by with some LGB´s on our location. I wrote it up as a blue on blue incident

I love ´em!...it´s not really plug and play, but worth it if you want to experience something cool. I´ve had mine for quite som time and i was not impressed at first. My 22in CRT didnt work at first so i had to use my 17 @75hz, but after i found a manual sync program i got my Vision master 22inch to work at 1600x1200/100hz...and my eyes had gotten used to focusing on both close and far objects. I say you have to give them some time/setup, but after you have "trained" your brain to accept the effects it´s soo cool. A few tips.. -Darker room is best -It takes time to be able to use the deeper settings -raise gamma as the "shades darken the screen a little -relax your eyes, accept the input and take the red pill -a setting at 150-170hz is best for lower resolutions

I´m going to buy one in a month or two, and i hope that ArAs will support it since i love flying but hate using buttons to "twitch" 90 degrees left. IMO, a must have for any serious battlefield simulator.

I prefer the US weapons, but since there is little difference in the game/mods it makes little difference. I do have a strange love for 1700-1900´s era weapons too. Whitworth´s....drooool

Voice control shortcuts like "one, cover (point area)" "six, target (point)" "all, danger" That would be a really usefull feature and would immerse you alot imo.

I think that the FM in OPF is a long way from good, it is VERY constricted in movement and really hard to et a natural feeling for. The system shouldnt be like in FS2004, but much closer to that instead of current FM. Tipping your nose should get you close to the ground fast unless you throttle up, thus being able to balance speed vs drop ratio when trying to manouver out of harms way...this is not possible in the game right now beacause of the lack of physics. ( i belive) This game would be complete with more realistic vehicles.
