Put the "this flyheight 200" in the init field of the chopper itself.

I was messing around with the editor last nite and found it hilarious that trees were easily knocked down by a 5t truck, however a flagpole or even a static M2 machine gun stopped the truck in it's tracks!

I recently got a new 8800GT card and since then ArmA has crashed on me several times. I think it might be heat, but the error doesn't feel like a heat crash even though temps are getting high. Just wanted to see if others have seen a similar error or if I need to start playing ArmA in my freezer! Basically the game will be running perfectly smooth with no problems at all, then suddently freeze. Sound keeps going, and apparently AI still works too since I'll hear vehicles move and people keep shooting. After about 5 seconds I crash to desktop which has turned into 800x600 4 colors with the following error: Event viewer lists this just before it: My stats are as follows: 2.13GHz P4 2GB RAM XP Pro SP2 DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Nvidia 8800 GT 512MB (not OC'd) 169.21 drivers WHQL. Normally a heat lockup would just freeze the machine right? It wouldn't just corrupt the video of Windows and leave you with enough control to start a shutdown? My cards temp peaked around 88C, but with the fan turned to 60% it peaks around 78C. Thanks for any input!

Does ArmA Gold need the DVD to be in to play? I got a copy of it from Best Buy, but I'm going to return it and download it since I hate changing DVDs.

All the text is just in the string table file and briefing HTML correct? I could take a stab at at least changing the English in the string file to make more sense if you'd like.

...wow! That was superb!! For a 2nd movie it's even more amazing. Really really well done. Way cool song too, what was it? I absolutely LOVED the ending!

Are there issues with this and 1.12? I just tried it and crashed in the first mission (GPF). Also, any news on more than just the demo?

I've started playing again so I'd say it's gained!

I uninstalled my 169.21 drivers, then ran driver cleaner pro to get rid of my anything left, including my old ATI drivers, and then installed the beta drivers. Now I'm crashing in almost the same way, except this time there's no error messages logged.

Don't forget the "v" key brings up your sights by default too. I've been having some trouble using the right mouse to bring the sights up, sometimes it gets stuck or I just end up zooming instead. Trying to use the "v" key to bring up the sights has been working well though! I need to try to save up for the TrackIR though. My situational awareness is about the same as a candy bar in it's wrapper!

So does anyone know if this means that you can buy the Gold Version (with QB) then patch to 1.09+ (Well, 1.12 beta right now..) and not need to keep the CD ROM in the drive? If so I'm picking up Gold on the way home from work today! As far as I can tell the 1.09 removed the CD required thing right? At least my original (ArmA:CO) install + 1.12 doesn't seem to complain anymore. I've tried searching and I can't find anywhere on here where it was specifically said we don't need the cd rom anymore however... With too many games needing their own DVDs in the drive, it would be wonderful to not have to constantly switch and be able to enjoy ArmA Gold without needless DVD buzzing in my ear and constantly pawing my games.
