  1. Thanks for that Kylania. You're correct it adds that "feature" by asking first, I must have thought answering no would mean it wouldn't work at all. I can see why some would want it, but I right click constantly, having this new strange option I hardly use is kinda throwing me off. I appreciate the tip on removing it. Thanks.

    ArmA2 - The Xbox 360 thread

Thanks for the tip on the original Xbox game, but I'm sticking with ArmA2 for the PC for now. I have two copies of ArmA1 and OFP for the home LAN too. I own 2 360's and one PS3. Will I buy OFP-DR? Yes but only after I read the reviews. I'll probably even buy ArmA2:360 as well (again after the reviews).

CTD Constantly; Should I Just Give Up?

"created a custom profile where it is given 8 pre-rendered frames" Nvidia. Try lowering this to the default, I think it's 4, fixed an online friends game for him.
  4. On the google guide. There's a couple of small typos in it, but I could follow it. For the bit about adjusting the PBO's, should that be done a step or two before hand? Note that the PBO tool automagically puts in an explorer association. Personally I can't stand it when programs do that without asking and I can't find a way to remove it. So beware of that "feature" while following this guide. If I find a way to remove that feature I'll post it here.

using an xbox 360 controller in the PC version

So I guess the next question is what pbo file contains the default values? If you could extract them, adjust them and put it back, they might "stick" pardon the pun.

    360 Controller: Y-Axis Inversion?

Another user here that would like the invert option for looking/panning up/down with the right stick.

using an xbox 360 controller in the PC version

    Ditto on the look inversion. I'm used to looking, flight sim style, pull back on the stick equals up, push forward equals down. The 360 controller feels natural too me now, and it's pain free, literally. If we can resolve this I'd be very happy. I'm starting to have physical pain and movement issues with my mouse hand (older gamer here, you'll get there someday if you're lucky). These sections are listed in the player profile, but I haven't tried editing them by flipping values. keyLookLeftDown[]={79,327958,262149}; keyLookDown[]={80,262148}; keyLookRightDown[]={81,262147}; keyLookLeft[]={75,262150}; keyLookCenter[]={76}; keyLookRight[]={77,262146}; keyLookLeftUp[]={71,262151}; keyLookUp[]={72,262144}; keyLookRightUp[]={73,262145}; keyLookLeftCont[]={524289}; keyLookRightCont[]={524295}; keyLookDownCont[]={524288}; keyLookUpCont[]={524294};

    Evolution (Red+Blue)

Thanks KJ! I have Evo Blue and Evo Red running on two servers now. I know all my friends over at simhq.com will appreciate the adjusted mission files. Thanks again.

    Use verifySignatures now!

I just passworded my servers. Â Problem solved, normal adults and most importantly KNOWN users are able to access it.

    Tank Fire Control Systems

Interesting.  So that I understand.  Say I'm standing next to a rocket launcher, both of us looking down range (say this is heading North), the rocket fires. It moves away from me, the observer, north bound.  Now looking at the rocket  moving away from me, I see the rocket spinning clockwise from my viewpoint.  Does that mean that the rocket should find it easier to move east (its right) versus west (its left)?  Like the torque effect on an airplane propeller?  So would that also mean that a westerly wind would have more effect on the rocket, versus an easterly one?

    ArmA modding IP stack?

Yes, DHCP is a very handy service. Â My three home PCs are fixed in place, so I use static IP addressing for them. Â My two Xbox 360's are also fixed in place, so I use static IPs for them too. Â My server is fixed as well, another static IP. Â The two Firewalls, the IP address of my switch, also fixed. Â All drawn on a nice Visio drawing, using easy to remember addresses and host names. The only PCs that don't have Static IPs are my two Laptops (however those two use separate PCMCIA NICs when on my home LAN (and those NICs have their IPs static in the OS). Â I remove the NICs when I leave the house. Â The built in NICs on those Laptops are DHCP (for use at work). Good point about setting up a fake DHCP service, might be handy. You could even use a valid range, just block them on your Firewall.

    ArmA modding IP stack?

Thanks for the replies guys. As soon as I noticed that in my ipconfig /all output, first thing I did was to remove that in the TCP/IP settings. Â Just a bit more background. Â I run two Firewalls. Â One is an enterprise class Netscreen product. Â The other is a cheap soho DLINK one. Â I have two ISPs (cable and DSL), thus the reconfiguring my home network comment. Â I collapsed everything onto a single 24 port Cisco switch with multiple VLANs defined. Â Had a bunch of cheap switches strung together for the Home LAN, the ISP's were directly attached to the Firewalls. Â One VLAN is defined for each ISP and one for the home LAN. I plan on port mirroring to sniff my traffic, thus the switch upgrade. Note that this search setting was noticed, BEFORE I made these network changes. True, this setting could have been put on there by almost anything. Â The "change" on that search suffix was certainly automated somehow as I didn't key it in. Â The box is only several months old, built from scratch (XP) and is Trojan and virus free, at least Avast and Windows Defender haven't said anything. Â I do not and will not use DHCP on my home LAN. Â I thought I'd mention it here as per Nixers suggestion. Â Just in the off chance someone else has noticed this as well. Â False alarm, I hope so too. Â Certainly "weird".

    ArmA modding IP stack?

I rebuilt my home network yesterday. By chance I did an IPCONFIG /ALL from a CMD prompt on my primary PC. For some strange reason, my default domain search suffix was defined as this; dffclan.com WTF? Now how in the heck did that get changed to that? It should be blank. Weird!!! If you go to dffclan.com, it redirects to dffclan.nl. They appear to be a ArmA site. I'm not blaming this on them, they may be a victim too. I'd love to know how that setting was modified on my PC, no way I changed it myself. Not good. Just an FYI to you guys.
