PhilippRauch replied to vektorboson's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
cant spooners holomap be 're/misused' for such displays? -
hehehe, yeah and then when on the floor a flagpole pops out of the corpse with the clantag/side flag of the one who killed it... (Like in that marsians movies scene with the president) :D

In VBS2 you can interlink Steelbeast(2? or Pro?) with VBS already via HLA/DIS... damn i think i need to save for a copy of both the new steelbeasts and VBS2... *ching*ching*

Dialogs and dynamic pictures
PhilippRauch replied to vektorboson's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Trying to make a movieprojector ingame vectorboson? Or stream livecam to arma? :D ... -
Yeah, all chat channels work fine, but direct chat falls off too much too quickly, there is no real shouting distance ingame right now, a bit further would be nice already, AND the extra shouting key like directChatKey+Turbo make you scream ... :)

I think on OFPEC resources there was a nice tutorial on texturing for ArmA in pdf format, nicely done and written... take a look there, maybe its also hosted on some of the main arma newssites. EDIT: Here is the link to it... http://ofpec.com/addons_depot/index.php?action=list&game=ArmA&cat=tu&type=te

Why are those ppl so keen on Deathanimations?? I dont care if someone flips around like a ragdoll just to satisfy my morbid dreams... Several mocapped (get it? ;) ) death animations, randomly choosen are far more than we, sorry I, really need... See some real snuff movies from warzones around the world and you will see they aint that pretty or varied anyway... ppl mostly just drop dead, thats it! Or get torn into pieces, anyway not much fun, so why care about a technology that is just not realistic... I would rather have more fun with better collision detection and more animations inside/on/with vehicles/weapons/animals/things! Thats my take on this ragdoll juice, although i like the math, i.e. how quickly something sums up to big values. :) PS: I second that we should/could have a CPU core for each major part, i.e. one for AI, one for physics, one for scripts etc... could be nice...

didnt one of the predator addons make some turrets on planes possible?

Wirecutters! Let's be able to cut wires.
PhilippRauch replied to Yoma's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I like the 'cut-wire-door' mentioned somewhere above, nice idea, but only useable on certain spots, which kind of negates what arma is about, freedom of choice ... but nontheless i like it... -
Oh, it has so much fond memories... its ,,, u ,,, iu its...

Dont worry Air Defences are on their way! ;)

ei always had loads of fun with 'crappy' physics since day one of OFP ... especially when blowing stuff up, and dying while inflight, getting stuck in a tree (like the scubadiver in one csi episodes...) :D

Wirecutters! Let's be able to cut wires.
PhilippRauch replied to Yoma's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
yeah yoma is right, its like always with ArmA, it has endless possibilities and in the end its up to the missionmaker, what, how, where and so on... you can make the wirecutter a obejct/weapon needed or/and only engineers/SF or all or only .... yadadiddadadum... -

I just can second the two last posts bigtime! :) please, let it happen! -
hey sabre just dl and try! ;) ... but when i start it with ace it has no reticules? Maybe i did something wrong... but with vanilla arma its already just funfunfun! ... turrets popping off and reticule adjusting to range etc... just lovely ... i use the tanksFX for my next javelin video.. ok? :D hope to test that soon in MP! PS: as for FX, in steelbeast the turrets pop off with considerable more force... havent seen one real CK though...

Funky mate! Downloading now and testing this soon!

Well mumble has that 3d positioning already, but the game and the client app needs an plugin/interface for that... TS3 shouldnt be much different! A few games are already 'plugged in' ... i just remember WoW is one of them, unfortunately its not arma... :) ...use ArmA inbuild VON for a start!

Wirecutters! Let's be able to cut wires.
PhilippRauch replied to Yoma's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
yeah, sure :rolleye:  ... ah, and replacing wont work, if the fences are placed in visitor! But doing setdamage should still work though on them... -
I had some weeks ago nice matches on avgani with some burning barrels rolling down slopes, nice to look at... isnt that enough??? :P nah, just kidding..

Wirecutters! Let's be able to cut wires.
PhilippRauch replied to Yoma's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
even better idea, then just setdamage!, but for that you need to remodel all fences inside game, did BIS release all mlod for them? otherwise all need to be done from scratch... PS: just got your smiliey... aehm :P -
Wirecutters! Let's be able to cut wires.
PhilippRauch replied to Yoma's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Couldnt we just make a 'wirecutter' object/weapon which adds a useraction like 'Cut Fence' and then when activated all objects class "féncè" (or whatever those wirefences all are called) get a setdamage 1 ? Of course only in about 1m distance infront of player?? Most work should be to find out all classnames of the ingame fences. Been thinking of it since OFP... nice others want it too! -
Real Time Strategy or First Person Shooter?
PhilippRauch replied to TurkeyBurgers's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL

A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment Public Release!
PhilippRauch replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
No, its inside the client config files, somewhere in you dta, they are readable all the time no pbo or such. Its like setting a local/globalvariable for your side only. PS: Yeah, Super Stallion, please!
