    if u want the latest config, 7.3, then just download the 7.3 patch. each patch has the updated config. i know 50 megs is alot to download but its better then 600 right?

    damnit.. this new fire n smoke stuff is so damn good ive just spent the past 6 hours playing OFP for the sole purpose of blowing shit up, flying thru NI Mod clouds, and setting people on fire with molotov cocktails just to see more fire. OFP has become even more fun then i ever though possible. and you have helped make Y2K3 stunningly amazing by the way nuclear explosions look better now too you have helped make mass death, pain, post tramatic tourture, and years of radiation and nuclear winter fun again!

    by the way for those of you that missed the Y2K3 post.. the fire effects, when installed properly, work as intended with Y2K3 with no further user modification. in otherwords dispite his readme saying it doesnt work with mods, i tested with Y2K3 and it works fine. im actualy quite pleased with it. the "flickering" doesnt bother me at all since after playing Americas Army, Ghost Recon, and several other FPS games i noticed thats exactly what thier realistic fires look like too. the flickering effect. so it looks perfect to me. but thats just my opinion. anyway yea if you are a Y2K3 user it works fine if you install it properly (see Y2K3 thread on how to install if your using the Y2K3 skypack)

    fantastic news Y2K3ers!! no this isnt a new patch notice.. however small idea of what it looks like in game: http://ofp.gamezone.cz/index.php?showthis=9426 John released his fire and smoke fx, i have installed and tested and found out that it works 100% with Y2K3 no extra user input or changes required other then running the exe in his download. If you use Y2K3 Sky Pack - apply the patch to Y2K3/Dta/data.pbo and to Y2K3/Dta/hwtl/data.pbo if you DO NOT use Y2K3 Sky Pack - apply the patch to Res/Dta/data.pbo and to Res/Dta/hwtl/data.pbo then start up your game and go blow shit up. or fly an A10 or Su25 at 50% dammage and u will see the new fire and smoke instantly. to see a slow version blow up some tanks or houses. if you dont want to blow stuff up. just put in a camp fire (under Objects/Fire) and "light fire" and you will see a small one the fire and smoke seems to "flicker" a little bit due to the ofp engine bug thingy but it really doesnt look that bad, i honestly thing it looks pretty damn good all things considered. Â Â so if you want to, feel free to check it out and install it. its completly optional so youdont have to use it. i havnt fully tested it but it doesnt seem to ofer any performance drop.

    your missing a pbo, redownload the orginal version and install all the pbos except for SLC.pbo. the other 2 or 3 files in the orginal are still required. i only changed the runway and parking area textures. i did nothing outside of the airport. that particular texture didnt display right in wrp_tool but in game it worked fine for me

    the 7.3 displaying as 7.2 is a minor bug, if you start up ofp and you have the new tanks and the 3d craters then your running 7.3. at this point in time there are no new updates planed for this mod.

    oh fantastic you are still working on it yes please by all means use it. all you need to do is move the taxi waypoint thingys over a degree or two and that should do fine. real simple to do. and dont forget to fix that road too in front of the terminal, i moved it and didnt align it properly. great island. i absolutly enjoy it well you asked for everything else from New Ocean Island, i figured you should have our airport too or at least the runway portion of it. so your very welcome. glad i could help

    why do you think i posted in this topic? Â you wanted to gloat over us? Â no, i was showing the author what i did. eh why the hell not http://ofp.gamezone.cz/_hosted/bratty/PB/files/SLC.rar its 2 megs cuz it includes the aces_it.pbo since its next to impossible to find outside island packs. it also requires the mapfacts airport addon, but seriously who doesnt have that? i mean come on. this is for the author only! in case he wants to continue work on this island. however i have no control over if the rest of yall download it too, its in pbo form so u can replace your old one. Airport Bugs im too lazy to fix: Road around terminal moved slightly, used straight peices to reconnect it, there are some slight gaps, oh well. the ILS system (thats autoland for you non OFP speaking peoples) works, you land on the close runway. however the plane taxi's in the grass rather then the taxiway due to the postion of the ILS beacons in the config and im too lazy to fix that since im the one who lands the plane and i know where to taxi. if someone else wants to fix the ILS and the road, be my guest. ive got this island good enough for me, im not a perfectionist, never have been never will be. oh yea the runways are slightly longer then the orginals but the runway lights are in place so you wont notice a differnce. plus i added some more red lights too for approch and "end" of runway in case anyone is wondering, theres no performance drop for either changes/additions. enjoy.

    why do you think i became a modder in the first place? i got tired of nice addons going to waste that needed only a minor change to suit my needs, and the addon athours unwillingness to do so. as they say if u want something done right, do it yourself. no offense to the author of course, the airport was the only change i felt was warrented for this island

    is the creator of this island still working on it? if so ive takin the liberty of making a tiny change to it: since its become my new favorite island to just play with, i went ahead and changed the airport to use the aces it textures, added in the mapfact control tower, the mapfact airport terminal, specialy placed to connect to the exsisting one to look like its all one buidling and took special care to make sure the side with the steps on it were facing the orginal terminal to give the apperence that it continues on. also changed the heliport slightly, and added 2 helipads, and 2 hangers (one for each helo) using the old cwc hangerhalls. the runways are the same lenght, well the far one might be slightly longer then it was, but the runway lights are untouched (added a few for the far runway) and the near runway is the same lenght as it was. so the ILS system and all that should still work without issue. it took me 4 hours to do since i had to rework the transisions cuz it went form a desert strip to a grassy one to match the runway texture bordes. but its all blended nicely and all that, so it looks nice. oh yea the far runway has a connecting taxiway out of the picture. at the lower left corner of that pic where the 36 is, it extends over to the other runway. thats the only accessway to that runway. however the long one has 4 acess ways from the runway and between 10 and 15 acessways to parking and loading pads.

    for the most part is as simple as making toast.. its just to embark on such a large customized experiance it will take you quite some time. its easy to do, its just time consuming is my point

    i am thouroghly impressed with this addon. the nighttime panels front and back. the animations. the actual working panels in the back, not just some random blinking and flashing and bleeping. ammo counters for all the weapons, main screen that relays delated information based on hight, angle, speed, ect. and a mission timer?! an actualy smooth running clock that tells you how long the mission has been running (mission being from the moment the mission loaded and u were in control). its nearly flawless. the exterior textures could use some smoothing.. but thats hardly even a "problem" this is truely a beautiful crafted addon. and what i love most is the performance. hardware i mean. . . it doesnt lag at all. amazing
