shit yo i never saw that option before they work on or off... but the offical word after testing... rifel tracers turned off (via the options/difficulty menu) is the best way to go

gah you can never defeat the "missing addon" errors dispite how many times u attempt to add it to the list. hey i said it before ill say it again, the error doesnt crash the game, it doesnt count in terms of the "rifel tracers turned on or off" i have no clue what yall are talkin about when you mention this.. i didnt see in my options menu

the BAS errors.. you sure thats with 7.0? because i removed the BAS rangers and deltas. they are no longer needed. the BAS_Weap.pbo is still there, needed for the SOAR pilots. so in either case.. you shouldnt get that error. the bas rangers/deltas are no longer used and 7.0 includes the bas_weap.pbo. so

nope. one or the other. since both are total conversion mods they have thier own config. so u can only run one at a time

ill be honest, i didnt download this mod since it really isnt something i would be interested in, but i can say this much, ive seen the screenshots and i am truely amazed at just how top notch this looks i know they say dont judge a book by its cover, but judging a mod by the screenshots, i say your's is really great -

yea the second folder is an accident due to differnt ragions/differnt installation paths. just move the Y2K3 mod folder and @ECP mod folders from your Operationflashpoint directory to your active one which is Operation Flashpoint. just drag and drop both the mod folders from your second (inactive) OFP folder into the one with the exe files and all that in it. then click the exe file in the OFPY2K3 mod folder and it should work then. edit: alrighty then

yes you have 6.0 no he wouldnt. the information link on the Y2K3 site has a section there "Customizing your OFP" that has helped many of my users customize Y2K3 for this particualr reason. in the full installer is kegetys high res sky preinstalled for you. i use GMR explosions which are more realistic then flash fx ones, having said that blow up an old BIS fuel station and tell me u dont like it due to the way its played you cant stop the song.. you have to listen to the full song. sorry. mods like this are NEVER ment for MP. since the server and cleint are running diffenrt effects and models and scripts. having said that i was able to play for 8 hours on a non y2k3 server with my game crashing only 3 times. (which is a big acomplishment ) and also Y2K3 has always been dedicated server compatable, on windows based dedicated servers only. linux doesnt like anything with capital letters in it so alot of the addons used in y2k3 are non linux compatable. cuz i liked the pavehawks better. more colorful. personaly im sick and tired of the black one. but you dont like it? tutorial is on the Y2K3 site under information and "Customizing your ofp experiance" on how to change it. i did this cuz i know people like you dont think like people like me. so to make everyone happy i explained how to do it. the tutorial helped many customize their OFP and even helped thunderbird learn how to do ffxur alltogether wolfbanes tracers for tanks and choppers, bn880s tracers for soldiers. if your refering to the bis laser like tracers still showing up, thats due to the fact that some of the addons i used (like suchy/earl's M249) has predefined tracers for that weapon, and i didnt bother making a special deffinition for that weapon and ammo and all that crap when it was easier to just arm him with the c8x_m249 but all the rest should have black tracers (to kinda hid thier laser like quality) mirrors posted for full install and extrafile installer. thanks to the LOL clan. special thanks to Tricky.

another note to the Y2K5: you do realize that if i did change it (which im not) i have well over 500 images i would need to re-make due to the change? not to mention the GUI (which require, repacking, reuploading, and redownloading [for you] of the mod), and several hundred documents.  its entirely too much hassel to change the name mid stream, and i as i said. i focused on the 2003 era. thus its Y2K3  ofp.info will be hosting a mirror later today, along with the LOL clan will be hosting a mirror as well later today. @creo, if you download the full installer, that will install the custom skys.. and the INQ night vision goggle model and optic texture. the optics arent dxdll compatbale, but the whole dxdll nvg flare effect is unrealistic anyway  (speaking from experiance in using night vision) i prepacked the skymod i call "keg-a-max-unsung sky pack" since it uses kegetys day/dusk-dawn skys, unsungs stormy skys, that new rain textures from whatshisname? and inq's night vision. no custom water as to be dxdll compatable.

i made this mod in march of 2004. i call it 2003 because i know for a fact what was used in 2003. whats gonna happen this year? will the AH64 be replaced by the RAH66? will the F22 be put into service? will the XM8 be put into service? dont know. so i cant call it 2005 cuz i dont know what we will be using this year. its like the INV44 mod... they focus on 1944... and i focused on 2003. that aside, being Y2K3 is currently the most popular unit replacment/total conversion mod, it would confuse the hell out of people if i changed the name midstream yea the life vest thing has been in use since 6.0 but it was a seperate patch. now all those "patchs" are no longer needed since i repackaged it. and added a few nice things like the tracers and such. by the way i just want to send a big thanks to thunderbird84 of the ffxur mod for inspiring the use of the tracers effects, and for helping me get the custom GUI in game. ok its 6am, im goin to bed. spent all day on this, and preparing my new "site" and a few other things in preperation for this release. so yea.. now that its released i can sleep.

told placebo to lock it as i was typin this one  by the way, unfortunitly you DO need the extra file installer... due to this lil ejecting bug that i didnt fully notice til after upload. so yea sorry.  but anyway, this new version uses the old 6.0 PE config version. so 7.0 will be better then my previous release due to perforamnce freindly. and before you say "my system will sieze up and die with your mod" i run a 1.5 P4 processor, 256 meg ram, and a FX5200 (128meg) graphics card. thats what i created Y2K3 using, and if you are just as good or better then that. then Y2K3 will work for you. edit: couple of screenshots to show a few the changes/improvments made. vehicle tracers (pic thanks to thunderbird) small arms tracer rounds (pic thanks to thunderbird yet again) flash effect for main battle tanks (t55, t72, t80, m1a2, res t80 & t72) custom GUI thanks in part to myself and thunderbird who improved the original graphic, and helped me to get it in game.

ahh ejecting.. wondered what caused that  dont worry about it. i got that error before too. you click ok... and you NEVER see it again  dispite how many times u eject. abotu the raft. thats not ECP thats USCG  and we never got around to amkeing a "raft" persay your just suppose to look like your swiming. and yea.. when your in teh water.. your a boat. limitatoin, cant get over it. edit: Y2K3 name. im keeping it because: A: its the term for this mod. B: it refers to the time period of the game... i dont have 2005 military equipment addons yet. mainly due to the fact that i have no clue what we are gonna use this year. there for the addons used in this mod.. are 2003 era vehicles-weapons-units-ect C: do you have ANY idea how many images i would need to remake? -

C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\ thats my directory. that was created when i installed OFP. hence the install directory is: C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\Y2K3 you're install of ofp musta been different or customized? edit: it hasnt been publicly released yet. couple of "testers" and snoops are getting their hands on the new version early -

the patch is 201 megs. the offical release of either is being held off right now.. i got a problem setting up the new site. nothing too serious except i kinda forgot the password to mysql database to get it set up. Â Â its pissin me off too. so anyway i gotta wait for akira to get online so i can get it fixed and get the site up and preped. sorry folks your gonna have to wait a lil bit. no more then 36 hours i promise. site or no, ill release the full mod in 36 hours. hopefuly it will be sooner. -

ok the upload is complete for the full install. ill start on the patch now. 200 megs smaller but still pretty hefty. like i said thou. this is an all in one installer. that includes skys, night vision model and optics (not dxdll compatable) all in one installer. install it. and go. no other files needed. gonna start the patch and upload that, then see about getting the new site up (prolly wont work but eh) so stay tuned sometime in the next few hours. im gonna wait for the patch to be uploaded before i make the release post. -

yes it is. 6.0 to 7.0 personaly i think a patch of that magnatude is pointless when the full mod is a lil bigger. if you do want the patch then its gonna be another couple hours to upload that. which is ok i guess cuz i want to work on a universal Y2K3 site. universal meaning "all browser and resolution capable" i realized on my laptop (1024 res) my site is a lil off centered. so i want to make another tootallinc type site for Y2K3 like that -

correction: 300 megs for the patch due to large addons like ORCS soldiers, and CBT humvee, and HYK soldiers, AH64 and RHST55 addons are all 20 megs or higher which really packs it up. so tell me, do you still want a 300 meg patch? or just redownload the 500 meg full version? -

M21 replaced with Dan_M14 pack version (his M21) scope and all  sprry this stuff just keeps comin to me. ive been modding the hell out of Y2K3 since i released it so i dont remember all the changes lol  edit: T55, M60, M1A2, T80, T72, (resistance versions too) all have the ICP_Effects fire effect edit2: ouch... ok all the "new changes"... im gonna make a patch for version 6.0 users.. but the patch is gonna be 200 megs. (for just the addons and config) sorry. -

forgot to mention. there will be only 2 config choices. Exploding Bodies and No Exploding Bodies. im usng the PE config, which means more performance freindly total conversion dispite removing all ECP dependances from the game.. you still need the ECP pbos (included dont worry) for the AT back blask and stuff like that and yes its all done the only thing i had to do was the T55 pack thingy. had to download install and change that in the config. like i said the rest of this stuff ive been doing over time. limited edition config, tracers, so on and so forth. im just merely packing this up into one file for neweys. and ill tell you why. last night i was on teh ASP server playing some MP on my laptop at work (nothin like killing and getting paid for it), when i got home i got on my desktop and jumped on the LOL server. i was suing Y2K3 and i was kiddin the guy "masterofpuppets", was tellin him "you see shity bis Mi24, i see beautiful CSLA2 Mi24 wiht retractable gear" and him, and another fella said "oh well mabe i will check out Y2K3" and it dawned on me... new people like that are gonna be confused out of thier minds "download 6.0 then download limited edition, then download... AHHHH" so i figured fuck it. ill just update the whole kit n kaboodle. plus with the GUI it really makes the new version.. new. now i do want to bring something up here. total conversion mods like this arent MP compatable (unless the server is running it). so this may cause "modified file" errors and other undesired effects in MP. having said this, i played for several hours last night using Y2K3 on a non-Y2K3 based server with my game sufering a heart attack and dying only 3 times. all it said was "flashpoint has caused and error and will now close, you should report this error to microsoft" blah blah. thats 3 times, in 8 hours of gaming. played several missions just fine, and let me tell you... the one mission we played "desert rats" or something like that. i forget now lmao. anyway we played it.. and everyone was shooting.. and it jumped to a cut scene... and the bn880 tracers were flying everywhere and it was frickin BEAUTIFUL. and the one guy asked me "well isnt that cheating? the abrams has more armor then the BIS one" and the answer to that is, no it isnt. the ammo truck has an M2 on top now, but all that stuff is server controled. the only localy echoed stuff is the models and textures. the armor, weapons, ammo, all those values are server controled. but you do experiance some nice effects they dont, like tracers, and retractable gear on the Mi24, and smoke from planes. but that stuff doesnt give you an "advantage" persay. and i can promise you the "missel proof ecms" on planes and helos do NOT work in MP lol. i was flying an A10 and got my ass owned with 1 stinger (it was a stolen A10) now about the crashes, those cant be helped. i dont know if its just me and my OFP is being mean, but 2 of them crashs were suffered when i was at work on my laptop, and thats a fresh install. but this is ONLY MULTIPLAYER RELEATED!!!!! basicly what im saying here is Y2K3 isnt ment for MP use on non Y2K3 servers, but you can in fact use it on those servers if you dont mind a couple (rare) crashs. and with all the OFP problems ive had over the years. those few crashs.. are nuthin that concerns me personaly so ill continue to y2k3 online -

uhmm i suppose i could do that. but like i said other then the T55 change everything that ive been posting here in terms of updates is basicly what 7.0 is all about. the patch will prolly be like 80 or so megs. i do have some bad news thou 6.0 was 328 MB; 7.0 is 579MB dont hurt me. its all one installer, thats it no extra file thingy, nothing. just this file and go but the reason for this is.. the new files required... and ive taken the liberty of packin in the data and data3d.pbo's with KEgetys High Resolution Skys (and unsung's stormy sky in place of kegs) and that new rain texture by... umm.. that other.. guy.. person.. thingy. forgot his name. anyway those will be installed by default. naturaly if you dont want to use them simply delete them from the Y2K3\DTA folder and use your own sky mod. that aside i remembered some other changes. Black Ops aka Special Forces are now LSR Rangers. Sports Car are now Challenger (convertable) and Sigmas White challenger. added 2 shotcuts to run Y2K3. one for the 1.96 beta patch and one for the final patch (linked to flashpointresistance.exe) @agent556: i have no control over the RPG16, thats a suchy & earl weapon. i didnt modify it i only used it. besides it balences out the lack of a 3rd round. (rpger usualy has 3 rpgs default) also the abrams armor was jacked up slightly. default was 900, INQ's was 1600, i toned her down to 1300. 1 will disable her.. crew bails and runs. 2 will destroy it. steal one. and own T80's with one keep in mind too that AI arent incredably accurate with RPGs (Thank god) so they miss once... come close the second time. their out of ammo, time to kill im uploading the file now to edge network. 2 hour and 44 minutes left for the upload. again i applogise for thelarge size, but she has EVERYTHING you need. i tested all morning (3am til 6am) with just Y2K3 and Res addons folder (my res addons folder has ONLY bis addons) so i know for a fact that all addons are included. i get absolutly no errors. i also got rid of the "ECP Settings" in the menu cuz ECP is no longer used so yea this will make it alot easier for new comers and for those of you that were confused, or jsut too lazy to follow along with the updates.
