just a quick update. the highway will have jersey barriers (concrete barriers) between the 2 roads. and adjcent to the port will be a Coast Guard base with 6 helipads, 2 hangers, 2 hospitals, 1 admin buildings and a fence that surrounds the entire base with 2 "door" fences and 1 double gate. plus one of the fences is able to be "cut" and repaired. naturaly theres docks there too. i am returning for my final test and mabe take some screenshots

I'm actually using all the farmland addons with Y2K3 and no problems  Edit: Tested also with FlashFX Then whats a config file doing there? They are suppose to cause conflicts with each other if you use more then one and start OFP. *|wispers quietly as not to share the secret too much|* umm if you install just the addon files and not the bin and dta folders.. the island still works

dont worry brother wacky iraqi and i are continuing the project for ya yes they were in there but some of the things dont work. like for instance when i tired, i belive it was the triads i got a modle special and there was no modle for the man or the ak47 they had. but they sure shot at me lol. and when updating this island i looked thru the art_bd file and i found your other buildings and i used some like the mcdonalds and the best buy, but in terms of the warehouse i ended up goin with agent smiths since i was gonna be using alot of his stuff anyway. and dont worry about the "crappy state" of the beta.. i liked it so much it inspired me to start wrp editing (with wrptool) and continueing the dream of a large scale city on a small scale island with very playable frame rates and i belive we accomplished that with version 1.0 and now that WI and i are working on a 1.1 it will be even nicer with more possibilites. oh about your loosing interest in OFP. play some GTA or whatever else for a lil while, you'll be back. dont worry, you will be back. she wont let you leave she wont let any of us leave i stoped playing OFP several times. and everytime i came back with something. first time i stoped i ended up coming back with Y2K3. second time i stopd i came back with USCG. so i stoped quiting OFP cuz i keep comin back with another huge mod lol now im just enjoying the game and especialy enjoying your island.. well what is now my version of the island (which was based on your idea and ive credited you half a million times) with just driving around playing missions and other fun stuff like that on it

For that you just need 1 gamelogic: "Animated Objects". That's really a strange bug so i see, the windmill is taking the place of the elevator in the 1st floor position. Let's see if this bug is happening with other people? Meanwhile take the mission "fml_isleobj.Intro" from the "mission_tuts" folder in the rar file, when those objects are placed in the desert island and check if happens the same Not quite, but you have "Handy's gun Works" store and you can use your binocular from the top of the mall [ig]http://www.tacticalblunder.com/~uploads/MiG/images/demo8.jpg[/img] [im]http://www.tacticalblunder.com/~uploads/MiG/images/demo7.jpg[/img] yes i know i only needed the one logic, but i put in several logics at once (cuz i was touring the whole island at once) i only mentioned that i used more then one to see if mabe there was a clash? like u cant have 2 logics at once. and i should point out the 1st floor was the first one i was on when i requested the elevator. but if i went to a differnt floor and requested it.. the windmill went up and down, basicly like you said, took place of the elevator

lil bug. i put in all the nessacary game logics and stuff. went to the mall thingy. when i requested the elevator come to first floor a giant windmill with spinning fany thingy moved to the requested floor other then that it looks really nice i love the research facility i saw the alien baby and i was like "its here scully, the proof we need" then i realized.. im not agent mulder and i was still playing flashpoint

WI and I have teamed up and are continuing the New Ocean Island project. we plan on the following thus far: minor tweaks at the airport in terms of radar and parking area minor tweaks at the port overhaul of the factory NG base redone with mapfacts barracks farm houses out where the forest is

Y2K3 mod. replaces the humvee with thiers, m113 with thiers, m2a2 with thiers, and the repair trucks with their hemmts. soldiers replaced by hyk ones too. plus it moderizes the whole feel of OFP. and its only 500 megs uses the best of the best addons released. addons that anyone who is someone already has or uses on thier servers and in their missions.

i got 2 german subs. the one you speak of and one from CSJ/scud and aside from the germans and japs were on the same side... neither subs have torpedos in game. -
well i didnt take those out specificly due to lag. first off "Every little bit helps", like my messenger logs all my convos, each file is between 1 and 10 kb of text. the folder containing them all is 38 megs. every little bit adds up to alot. but anyway i took those out cuz i found them pointless and unrealistic as well. HALO is a special techniqe that not many combat operatives can successfuly do. as per thier script, anyone and everyone could do it. pilots, soldiers, civilians. AI join script was nice except that in combat you dont just go up to someone and say "hey you, umm im in charge and u do what i say" althou in extreme circumstances when several survivors of a large conflict meet post battle and need to re-group but in OFP the only time those situations are actualy played out.. the mission themselves were designed to do that and already regroup you via script or via new mission (if its a campaign). things like AT back blast and blood however is realistic and imperitive in a mission. follow the ai blood trail, dont stand behind at weapons, realistic and in my eyes "Required" for total imerson into the game.

ok i just tested this ship. and i cant kill it. i dont mean its a bug i mean i cant get near the sumbitch. hucks PT boats, corsairs, nothing can break its line of defense. once i did get the PT boats in close enough made 2 passes with 2 differnt bots firing 4 torpedos. she was "burning" but not sinking and was still able to fire upon me killing me on my extraction route. corsair gets one pass then dead. and no im not using the kilo sub or the a10 thats cheating. id prefer WWII battles be kept to WWII addons. also you cant enter or "get in" the guns when they're empty. other then that its quite nice. -
you just installing it? or have you edited something in the config? cuz that error sounds like something from an edited config if its bined wrong. but if its a fresh install then it makes no sense by the way test using the premade executable files in the Y2K3\Bin\OFPY2K3 folder. cuz i had some error when i tried to use my own exe file after reinstall of OFP and it didnt like it. now i use the premade exe file and it works fine. so mabe try that?

nope. no plans on implementing ECP ever again. made the mistake once, learned my lesson, never again. by the way having upgraded my system fo 1.8 ghz amd and 512 ram Y2K3 plays like a true dream on my system. played airassult on everon form the campaign. arrived a lil to late to find the nato tanks all destroyed. proceeded to then destroy all the russian tanks, 5 minutes later every tank within my 1600m view distance was burning and smoking like a mofo and i was running a cool 10 fps, whereas with 256 ram i was lagging a bit around 5 fps. once i left the area and was over barron land heading back to base she shot up to 30. now having taken 4 years to be able to upgrade to 512 ram i know that not everyone can run out tomorrow and buy some, but if you have at least 512 you shouldnt be experincing any lag with Y2K3. and i suppose the full ecp mod might run better on my new system as well but without starting another war, im sure most of you already know my feelings about them. by the way i know some of you complain of lag, and i think we should be a lil more specific too with any mod or addon. for instance i saw someone complain about an addon recently that it "laged him to hell" when he went on to complain further that he only got "20fps" with that addon in play rather then his normal "80fps". now in my experiance, and opinion you cannot claim something is "laggy" until you get 8 fps or lower. at 8fps is when things get jumpy and slow. 9fps and above is playable without any effect on visual performance. now im not calling anyone a liar here im jsut saying that if you are getting at least 10fps while playing a mission, then please do not say that you are "lagging" becuz your not. you need to understand that BIS used low quality models for people on 128 meg systems to be able to play. so thier models are very low quality and very low textures. as total conversions like FFXUR and Y2K3 use newer more advanced modles and textures things are gonna slow down. if you play a BIS mission and get 900 fps. thats cuz you only have like 50 polygons worth of models on your screen. play with a total conversion now you have more detailed models. so there will be a little bit of a performance hit. for some of us that means goin from 30 to 20 fps. others it means goin from 90 to 50. which is why mods like ECP and FFX play better compared to the unit replacments. cuz they add on scripts that do cause slowdown, but its unnoticable due to low quality models. now you add those scripts to a high quality modle like hyk soldiers or combat humvees and the results arent pretty. so basicly you cant have your cake and eat it to. with Y2K3 i used some scripts here and there, the least laggy scripts that i felt OFP should not be without (like blow and at back blast) and left out others that i saw no point too like halo and ai join player. sure they are nifty scripts but theres no need to run them if they are only gonna cause slowdown in a mod that already uses high quality models. there had to be some sacrifices. back when i opend the box for OFP i played thru it and missions like Vulcan and Battlefields laged me. but i still played them. whilst other missions like steal the car and airborne played beautifuly. with the game there are good areas and bad. with Y2K3, like you said some misisons play better then others. im here to tell you with OFP some missions play better then others, addons or no.

120 to 180 sounds about right for how it is in Y2K3. back when i .. lets just say back when i was younger, i tried ECP cuz it was the 00ber-l337 aw3s0m3. and between 3 and 5 seconds from teh time the dead person hit the ground. the flies script kicked in and you probably dont have a performance hit due to a stronger or faster computer. but most of the Y2K3 users dont have a strong or super fast computer. thus i was letting those that dont understnd the schematics of how these things work that if they try your suggestion there may be consiqensual lag from the unessacary effects and scripts that the full ECP mod runs. whereas i used some of their scripts, but only the ones i felt were nessacary. so basicly i was just telling everyone else if they do this, then they have a good possibility at dealing with substancial lag on thier systems. (again this due to Y2K3 is a universial mod for mid range to high range computers) i wasnt trying to say you were right or wrong.

this will reenable all ECP effects causing undesired lag just so you know. right now the flies work but they take awhile to be "attracted" which honestly i find a lil more realistic then flys on a dead body 8 seconds after he dies.

see you say "stop" but all they hear is "i wanted to offend you to see your reaction, please tell me more what you think?" i like the markings, i like the tank, and i think your doin a damn fine job and i say keep it up. remember this is your addon, not ours. only you guys have a day in what the tank should and shouldnt have. by releasing it youre merely saying "here i made this, you can play with it too if u want"

correction opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, some just stink worse then others. your not the only one brought up on this motto  edit: sorry to drag this topic off.............. topic; even more then it has been but can we take a moemyny to sit back and look at ourselves? look at some of you getting flustered and worked up over a video game. you know its that kind of extermisum in political orrectness that cost me my job not too long ago (was more sexist wing of the political correctness but still extreme none-the-less). are we REALLY gonna go thru life watching what we think and say and do and dream becuz it MIGHT just be offensive? poor russians, they have a game here where the goal is to kill russians! bis offend me with thier blanet disregaurd for the feelings of the russian people! why must we let every itty bitty hint of information turn out to be so damn offensive? i mean holy shit theres a 5 page topic where people laid out an argument why an RPG launcer with a kamikaze watermelon sticking out of it was "Tasteless humor at the expense of black people". i mean wth. seriously. black people like watermelon, americans like cheeseburgers and asians like kung pow chicken, mexicans like tacos, arabs dont like pork. that doesnt make you racist. it makes you hungry people make fun of the french becuz they dont like war, i do it alot myself, but i dont hate the french. people make fun of americans becuz we "are going to war for any reason at all". there are some people in this country that feel differntly. personaly. i fit that sterotype. i like war i like seeing shit blown up and all that. im sick im twisted, but im also not offended when someone says that crap. scottish people made fun of for bagpipes and kilts. everyone here gets made fun of and nobody gets hurt. why must we sit here and ruin a perfectly good addon cuz it "might be offensive to someone". if any of you out there like to read books (i dont but i got this one anyway) read a book called "the lanuage police" in that book it tells of why testing in public schools must be reviewd by a panel of people just like you to weed out anything offensive. and here are some real examples and i do NOT make any of this up: "we cannot tell a story about a moutian as it may be offensive to people that live in flatlands and may not have seen a moutian" "we cannot tell a story about the ocean as it might be offensive to people that dont live near waterways" "we cannot tell a story about cake because it promotes unhealthy eating habits therefore may be offensive to overweight people" and my favorite: "we cannot tell a story about a blind man who climbed a moutian in a snow storm since it portrays blind people as having a disability therefore discriminating agasint them" when will it end? at what point are we just gonna paint the world in a greyscale color (as not to offend color blind) sit in our own little corner with our eyes taped close (so as not to offende blind people) and not move from that postion (as not to offend people with missing limbs) until death so that we can succesfuly live in a world where noone is offended and thats my story and im sticking to it
