Excellent weapon! Thumbs up. However it should be powered down: it should kill up to a BMP-2 or Bradley, not heavier tanks. At least not with 3 shots... I wish you finish this project cause this weapon is great. AT rifles are awesome!

Hello everyone. I was just wondering something, is the Avenger gun simulated in Operation Flashpoint's A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft a little bit underpowered? I mean, the real gun is able to disable a Main Battle Tank (T72, T80, etc.) with a couple of short bursts. This isn't the case with the game's cannon... Actually, I find it EXTREMELY diffucult to kill anything on the ground once my Mavericks are all fired. Of course I don't consider myself a hot-shot, but I have been able only ONCE to kill an armored vehicle (a sucking BMP) while strafing. And that by sheer luck and after using half of my ammo. I have created many custom missions with Editor, placing tanks and a AI A-10 trying to kill them. Even the AI can't destroy any tanks (MBTs) once the Mavericks are over. What do you think? Is there an editor to correct this? Thanks, Constantine. PS. This is my first post. Please bear with me!

Bohemia Interactive has heard our requests! Guys, this is wonderful: The A-10 gun damage model will be fixed by v1.85... Here's infomation about all v1.85 fixes and upgrades.

Where can I find info for the "Between the Lines" campaign? Also, where on earth is the Resistance patch we're all waiting for...?!

I was wondering... Although the manual of Red Hammer says the version of the Russian armored jeep equivalent of the Humvee is the BRDM (assuming the BRDM-1), the official www.flashpoint1985.com site is showing the BRDM-2. I have to admit that the hull of this armored car in the game looks more like the BRDM-2, although the standard version of this vehicle has a turret with a 14,5mm machine gun installed. Can anyone drop some insight on the matter, with links to military sites with pictures if possible. Thanx.

That's right Nyles. I have been wondering that too. Or at least they should create a Stats Editor to change easily the attributes of units in the game. I was wondering if these downloaded units and weapons work correctly for creating your own missions in the editor.

This is definitely NOT the version included in the game. No opening hatch either...

And I wonder why the haven't addressed this error so far. BRDM's should be able to resist anything less an RPG or direct hit by hand-grenade. Instead, they die instantly... And I really loved this vehicle in the last missions of Red Hammer and all single missions I've seen it.

Thanx Nyles. I had exactly these FAS pages in mind. Now, if you notice the hull and general appearance of the BRDM-2 vehicle with that simulated in the game, it appears more of a turret-castrated version of the BRDM-2, than of the BRDM-1 as the manual implies. The thing is: has there ever been a BRDM-2 armored car version without the turret? I haven't found info/pictures on the 'Net till now... If anyone finds, please post them here!

So... when are we seeing this match-awaited patch? (v1.76?) I really loved that mission in Red Hammer, don't tell me to downgrade the game just to have it though...
-
I agree with Jahve! I believe it's paramount to continue supporting the game even for those who don't have the add-on campaign. And... when will the next update/patch be? I have "Resistance" and still get angry about the crashing problem with the 7th mission in "Red Hammer". And since other players have issues with the current (box) release, a patch is more than requested... Any date yet?

BMP-2s and M2s will attack a low flying heli. They both sport quick-firing cannons. BMP-1s will not attack a helicopter. I suggest in a future patch/update to add the following changes: -RPG/AT soldiers attack helicopters if less than 100-150m and hovering. -All tanks fire their MGs on helicopters. -Fixed AA-guns in villages, manned by soldiers as the fixed MGs.

Same problem here! (thanx to placebo for showing me the thread) and the same pattern: v1.75! Jeez, can BI look into it... Mission 7 was really amazing! C'mon, it should be a small patch...

Hi all. I have been playing the Red Hammer campaign which I haven't completed. My version of the game is 1.75 (after installing Resistance). The problem is that after completing the "Under Fire" mission successfully and seeing the cut-scenes (both the Su-25 bombardment of the American ships and the tank ambush of Lukin's Ural) the next mission isn't loading... It stucks to the black page before the mission briefing. I can't do anything than reset the PC. This sucks... is it a known bug? Is there a work-around? PS. While seeing the videos I get on the upper left side of the screen a message about an Object not found, but the cut-scenes are loaded OK. The problem is when the next mission starts...

After destroying the 4 vulcans in red hammer

placebo, I was trying to use the search feature to find one of the threads you said they were talking about the issue. Couldn't find any. Can you help?! -
After destroying the 4 vulcans in red hammer
Prof.Wizard replied to Prof.Wizard's topic in TROUBLESHOOTING
placebo, it's the 7th Mission! (if you not count the "Start" entry of course...) I'll do as you said... anyway, DON'T lock the thread and let's see if someone else found another (technical) workaround. Any reason why it is done!? -
I was wondering. Why doesn't BI or someone create a working model of the featured SCUD launcher? Yes you can drive the vehicle and launch the missile but... that's all! I was thinking of a model: open up the map screen when the player hits the "launch missile" command and chooses the target area with crosshairs and after a few instants the missile explodes (with some deviation) to the designated area inflicting a reasonable "splash" damage due to its HE head. It would be cool to utilize this special vehicle and have a weapon to terrorize the enemy, bringing down whole Malden towns, in custom missions... What do you think?

Since this version of the Havoc made its appearance in 1982, is there a possibility to see it in the game as an official add-on helicopter? I know that with the arrival of the Kamov Soviet forces are on the par regarding air power... but just for the heck of it... The Russian Apache!

You are right. These things need to be fixed. Make the V-80 attack air targets. Make AA/AT soldiers attack the right targets and if possible with priorities*. *is there a possibility to script their actions into waiting to fire for the right targets the right moment?!

Human players are NOT an objective method cause NO two pilots are the same. Your catch-22 situation about testing the AI and not the helicopter is unstable too. The AI flies the copters at their best of their capabilities (according to parameters given by the game designer which come close to the real specifications of the copter)... the reason the Hokum went down in flames in my testing wasn't tied to the fact it was less manueverable or less armed... it was because of its inability to score a hit onto the Apache most of times. To hit the Apache the Hokum had to move its axis to face the Apache... instead the Apache had only to fly fast and evading... even at 45-60 degree angles the Apache's flexible turret-mounted machine gun was able to hit the Hokum. One pass. Two passes... and it was just too much for the Hokum. PS. I'm not debating here the air-to-ground and manuevering capabilities of the Hokum which are impeccable.
