Aren't real-life soldiers ~2m high? I'm glad the screenshots were released, it's better than nothing. The only problem is that there isn't an Iraqi pack...DON'T GET ANY IDEAS BAS THIS IS TAKING LONG ENOUGH! Perhaps you will also release a new config.cpp as part of a "desertMOD" so that I don't have to fumble in the editor under BAS/Desert Vehicles

I don't think the EU can become a major power, ever. Too many national governments need reforms. If the EU had the military capacity perhaps they would invade something, but just as more butter = less guns more bloated social welfare = having to lease Ukranian aircraft to tranport your piddling army. BTW I am not saying that German/UK/European soldiers aren't capable they just don't have the money, equipment, training, and by extension, morale. The best reasons for invading Iraq weren't WMD, a point that The Economist has been arguing for more than year. I think that the most dangerous weapons in the Mideast are Israeli nukes. After that, the Iranian(North Korean/Russian) nuke program. I think that the Iraqi resisters underestimate the will of a leader convinced that God talks to him (Bush.) The US is not being lead by a person who is willing to take substantial casualties and spend a lot of money in Iraq.

New crews = new weapons?

Even if every Palestinian grabbed a gun and some C4 and attacked Israel at once, they couldn't destroy them. If the Israeli military made the obliteration of the Palestinians an objective, they would all be dead/dying/fleeing by tommorrow morning. The world would cry if the Israelis napalmed/shelled/nuked the "refugee camps" but there'd be no terrorism. Heck, depending on the global response there might not be a middle east.

I'm not quite sure about this but how does the BIS UAZ scale to the real one? I think FAS or some other page would have specifications for length and height or maybe a diagram to compare it to a person.

My question to everyone: Is the world better off with or without the war? I think yes. Civillian casualties pale in comparison to the number of innocents murdered by Saddam. As for WMD, the notoriously unreliable Debkafile maintains that they were transfered to Syria. If you were Saddam, would you keep them? They would only justify the war. At most, you might kill a few dozen US troops and would rally public opinion against you.

While everyone just stood there and watch the Baathists slaughter the Iraqis, the US, France, Germany, and Russia deserve the most blame. Who taught him tactics? Who sold him his kalishnikovs and t-55's and BMP's? Who sold him those gold-plated MP5's? Who built his bunkers and set up special oil contracts? WHO GAVE HIM A FREAKING REACTOR? There were a lot of non-oil related reasons for GW2 that were still lacking in moral value. A US-controlled Iraq allows the US to rebase aircraft and troops. It also allows the US to tighten screws on the Saudis. With a cheap supply of oil and no dependency on Saudi bases, the Saudi regime can't support terrorism and militant islam without severe repercussions.

The most important part of a plane is the knowledge and skills of the pilot. I'd much rather be a superbly-trained US pilot in an F-16 with AWAC support than a poorly-trained Chinese pilot in a shiny new Su-30MKK or whatever. LOMAC is looking really good. I may have to regain my addiction to flight sims. As for FS2004, I have low expectations. Not enough fun planes like the Concord, too many gimmicky things like the Wright Flyer I. But airships...that would be so cool!

Any explanation for the recent spate of failed assasinations? I think that the use of anti-tank missles may be an unecessarily costly choice, they are designed to penetrate armor. Whats wrong with a FFAR?

The Israelis do too kill civillians, but it's not their primary goal. If someone has spent most of their adult life attempting to maim and kill you, would you be bothered by taking out their families? Besides, I think that the Hamas leaders are using their young children as unwilling human shields. And as for the demolition of the homes of the families of terrorists, it's a deterrent. Would you blow yourself up if your family would become homeless and the slow members might get smushed? If you are Bn880, probably so, but you wouldn't be as gung-ho about it. The most shameful party in the conflict is the Arab states that use it as an excuse for all of their problems while prolonging it by arming the intifada, and most importantly, denying any sort of refugee status for the "landless Palestinians"

the joys of beta testing. anyway, OICW is too expensive IRL to be given to all o even most soldiers. An M4 costs less than $1000 for military (plus optics, foregrips, c-mag, etc to trick it out) but an OICW costs more than 10k.

My guess is that IRL it will be pretty high for several reasons. 1. Soviet, and also Russian Federation electronics have screwed up bad before. Look at the BMP3 for instance. And the failure of fancy ecm systems is fairly common everywhere *Patriot* 2. What are the odds that a crew of draftees is likely to be very skilled in its operation? The Russians are still taking bad losses in Chechnya, not just from suicide bombers. Also, are there going to be any updates on the Iraqi tanks? If so, could you turn down the accuracy on them to simulate the aging barrels, bad ammo, and bad training?

Inquisitor has graciously provided his config in .cpp the download. Perhaps you could find the relevant sections for the OFPEC script and copy-paste them into the Inquistor version?

maybe I'll boot up CWC again... SFG i like having my brain on drugs. This is sort of OT but many years ago there was a (now defunct) PC games mag called "PC Accelerator" or something like that.
