UKF Release: Jackal MWMIK
Onebitlink replied to da12thMonkey's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
You won't be dissapointed with sitting in the dismounts seat in Messiahs WMIKs then. You get a face full of gunner crotch when he engages targets to the front of the wagon, I personally sit back, set Fraps to take screens every 3 seconds and enjoy the show but, each to his own I suppose. -
Or...

Oh and the GMG - yes, that is what they sounds like except of course the bassy "thump" that you feel in your ear that comes with weapons fire that games can't really simulate. -

Reference Jerry cans, Da12th is correct - water down oneside diesel down the other - this is to prevent  people drinking diesel at night*. * A joke of course before some smart arse tells us all the Water ones are plastic and the fuel ones are metal (looks at Da12th). -

AKM - The groups that 3 Commando Brigade began using are called Mobile Operation Groups (MOGs) setup with the purpose of mincing around the desert hitting targets at seemingly random before dissapearing back into the desert amongst other taskings. Look forward to your mission! Jonny_LI -

AKM - It's a game limitation, Messiah mentioned earlier that because It isn't an armoured vehicle the "getincommander" command doesn't work, see earlier in this thread for a work around. Jonny_LI -

MP is completely fine. We (VOLCBAT) have had it for some time, apart from dealing death in a gloriously over the top fashion it's spot on. I'll let Messiah answer your other questions as I'm just an advisor. -

Onebitlink replied to da12thMonkey's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Thats the all terrain mobility suspension kicking in, it's used to allow the vehicle to perform evasive manouvres In the event of a contact. Not really, sounds like a bug. Messiah will be along shortly and he'll give you a sensible reply. Jonny_LI -
UKF Release: Jackal MWMIK

The underside of the Hull is designed to be more mine/ied friendly. Yes the Cab is open but its primarily a mobile weapons platform and so good field of view is required, you don't get that in an fully armoured and sealed up box. All of our vehicles fitted with the WMIK (Weapons Mount Installation kit, the series of roll bars and weapons mounts you see on the Jackal and Landrover) are generally top heavy, the jackal is a little more prone to tipping than the Landrover WMIK though because of it's high profile from the ground - again, this is for better protection against mines/IEDs. Hope this helps. -

I can assure you the quality is the same across the board. Our Addon making guys are strangely obsessive about quality! You won't be dissapointed with the Challenger either. -

Just a quick question, has ACE allowed us to swim across rivers without loosing our weapon and other kit we're carrying? And one request. Would you consider adding a Mortar to ACE? Setup the same as the Browning .50 but maybe an interface to adjust range, ammunition type etc? Regards, Onebitlink -
Probably because I have been on these ops myself, come under fire and survived through what my senior NCO's drummed into me! So that gives me some idea of why I can pick holes. The post was about current training on not a criticism of the individuals bravery. Read the post! What has that got to do with basic infantry skills and training? Regardless of the heat and weight these skills are drummed into you so they become instinct and save you life. I did not get beasted by a PTI and perform E&E exercises in Otterburn to get my arse shot off once out in the field. So in the same token having trained some younger lads in my time on all manner of field skills I can vent my frustrations at seeing the younger guys forgetting or even ignoring the basics. So what you are saying is you would forget basic infantry training skills because you are hot and bothered and someone is shooting at you? Sorry but the enemy really doesn't give two hoots about how you feel. That is why we have training. Glad you weren't in my Squadron or even on the BATT with me otherwise I would have booted your peachy arse out of my unit as a liability to the rest of my guys. As for active operations yes thanks I have been on plenty and I count the superb training I received as the reason I am still alive. Take this to PM if you want a further discussion son. Gladly, check PMs.

I beg to differ. Â Pleanty of vehicles get sniped by RPGs, various rockets and mortars every day in Iraq and Astan. I was under the impression that the UK MoD had invested in the use of IR/Formation plates to reduce their reliance on driving lights to help reduce the risk of vehicles being spotted. That stuff goes right out of the window on live operation's. Regardless of MoD investment into an area individual troops and squadron's will add or take away equipment as they see fit. From experience the use of lightsticks on operations is entirely dependant on the officer in charge ignoring SoP and / or the threat level. You only have to watch the current Ross Kemp series to see how lax British Troops have become (the younger soldiers) when it comes to the three S's and moving across open ground. I am wondering what they are currently training them at BATT Colchester? You're obviously a old hat, who do you think you are picking holes in how the current lads and lasses on Ops are conducting themselves? Have you had to operate in 40-50 degree heat carrying 35+kilo against an enemy that's not afraid to blow kids up to get at you. Under contact daily or if your lucky enough to not be getting shot at you're more than likely taking IDF. This isn't Belfast, show some respect to the lads and lasses that are out there getting killed and maimed. Either that or fulfill your reserve liability and get out on Herrick and see if you're worrying about the 7 S's when the airs full of enemy fire and 107's are landing closer and closer. You fecking tube.

Hi B.I.! I was wonderin do u have any plans to put SAS or Delta Force in ArmA2? I've got photos and stuff that I can send you if u need. I think it would add to the game as games with the SAS in seem to do really well on the market, like Call of Duty 4, the main reason people played it was because it gave an insight into how the SAS operate on missions and it shows the weapons and gear they use. Thanks 4 reading this
