Using Arma 2 mods the simple way

Hi, I have a question about the second point: changing the name of the mod's folder (supposed crappy) don't makes the game starts "Vanilla"?
  2. :D Sorry, but your statement sound like an alcoholics anonymous declaration! If it can be of any support I'm a DayZ player too! To get back in topic I already expressed my opinion in other threads about the duality between DayZ and ArmAx: for short, DayZ should draw the same resources of the main game and should be as an official expansion such as British Armed Forces or a similar one.

Using Arma 2 mods the simple way

For me this way is simpler too, thanks a lot for suggesting it!
  4. I don't think that the problem is the Nvidia drivers, but a bug of some mod or of the patch 1.62, because some user noticed graphic artifacts also in ArmAII vanilla. At the moment I can say that the suggested workaround of setting the video memory at Default value into the video options of ArmAII worked fine for me. Yesterday night I played DayZ for one hour or so scavenging Chernogorsk without any graphic problem...but a phone call killed me! :) Lucky who'll find my alter ego corpse stuffed with lots of luscious items! I hope to help someone with this info...the one of the video settings, not the one of my premature e-death! :)
  5. For a plenty of screenshots and videos about this graphic bug and for temporary workaround solutions I got this post into the DayZ official forum. Hope it'll be solved soon...
  6. For me no crash, same update of the drivers for my GTX285, but the artifacts are present. I noticed it after the 1.62 update, they appear after a while, not at the beginning of the game, only when I point the look at some direction, maybe staring directly at the direction of the sun or at the main light source I suppose. The artifacts looks like flat intersecting surfaces and makes impossible to see anything in the direction where they appears so I be forced to leave the game.
  7. You said it! Those people would never play with ArmA2, but DayZ gives them the opportunity to understand the high quality of the original game and maybe they could become ArmA2 players...the smartest ones I suppose. I can't see that as a con for ArmA2. I totally agree with you about the blame for the indiscriminate killing of the other players just for the taste to do it. In my opinion this kind of behaviour does not meets the true DayZ mod spirit.
  8. Lots of people is stressing the disappoint about DayZ as a matter of milsim as opposed to something other. Honestly I don't understand this opinion. ArmAII si not only a milsim, in my opinion ArmAII is a sort of reality-sim (...yes, I know, there are a lots of issues about physical laws model and tons of other situations that should be fixed, but is not this the matter) focused on warfare, but the great potential of this game is it's huge flexibility that allows to mold and to fit it to almost all the environments one can imagine...so where are the true cons of DayZ? I can't see anyone. Probably in the future all the games will be able to deal more and more with a better "reality" management, so each game will differ from the other one basically for textures, environments and synopsis (obviously that's just my opinion), so making a movie or a game will be a similar business. All in all what's war? Where do you fight it? It's a real (unfortunately) thing that takes place into the real world.
  9. In my opinion it's not a matter of logic, but personal taste for a kind of situation rather than another one (you are right when you say that the DayZ is a very slow paced kind of game). Personally a enjoy both kind of mission. DayZ makes of yourself a prey, you can count almost only on your individual capacity to manage an "against impossible odds" situation, for me this is a strong argument in favor of it.
  10. Hi, in my opinion this mod can only be a positive thing for ArmAII future developements. It could provide a better system to manage situations like the medical ones and others related to other faces of the game (the top enhancement could involve a better interaction of the players with buildings and the possibility to use other kind of weapons like blades or clubs). If BIS decides to make of DayZ mod a new product, I'd be willing to buy it. In this event maybe further developed features of the game could not be shared with ArmAII brand products, unless the DayZ feature will be offered as an ArmAII expansion such as Reinforcements for example.
  11. This modification of the mission sounds good. See you soon on your server...maybe this night.
  12. One of the best, most probably the best one, zombie outbreak video I have ever seen. Great job.
  13. Not in that mission AFAIK. The only one task is to get to the radio tower to send the message faster than your ammo falls to zero and before "The Loved unDead" starts to feed on your brain. Have a nice time!
  14. BIG Christmas gift! Thanks a lot from one of your big aficionados and supporters! Merry Christmas & Happy new year to all BIS team!
  15. Nice mission, due to lack of servers in the net, until now I just soled it for a bunch of times. I know that this mission is not designed for solo players, but I noticed that to get to the chopper is enough to get a spare vehichle fueled enough to get to a gas station or to the chopper, or to run like hell and try to flee off the pursuing Z's horde running into forests to leave it behind and join the vehichle location. When you can make that you are safe, the Z's don't attack you when you are near the chopper, and you can fly off and escape with no problems at all (maybe this behaviour depends on my game 1.59 version). I hope to get some player to enjoy the true spirit of this great mission. Thanks a lot for your job!
