Net Op

I understand the question, but I'm going to take it from a different angle. Historically, in FPS's, I just can't aim worth a damn. My choice for a favorite weapon? Well that would have to be...whatever the last guy dropped when I "capped" him. I am loathed by my team-mates and feared by the enemy because I just put "rounds down range". I am the polar opposite of a sniper. You can't use'm when your dead to let them fly right now. That being said I usually get stuck with an AK of some type. suppressive fire rocks!

My PC was "crackling" also. I disable EAX support and HW acceleration a while back, but that didn't solve it. I know it doesn't make any sense but I did what 'ole boy suggested (control panel tweak) and I haven't had any problems since. I'm not going to defend it. I don't care how it works. I'm just happy it works. Asus A7V mobo, Win XP home, AMD T-Bird 1.2 Ghz, 256 mb PC133 ram, SB Live 5.1, GeForce2 GTS, latest drivers for all applicable components. P.S. I'm still pissed OFP doesn't work as well as even CS, but it is the most realistic sim out there. Resistance better not suck! BIS/CM's, no bugs...and you'll get my money forever.

All I know it that I paid for this game months ago and it still doesn't work well. OFP was an impressive design feat, but it doesn't matter if the bugs are are never fixed. This is easily the greatest game...that was never finished.

First a little foundation: 1.2 AMD T-Bird, 256 megs PC-133, 40gig HD, Asus A7v MB, Bell South Fast Access DSL, 3d Blaster Geforce 2 GTS, latest patches for hardware and OFP (1.42) Gentelmen, Whenever I query servers for Counter-Strike or Operation Flashpoint using either the in-game browser or Gamespy Arcade/3d it will start to accumulate a number of servers and start a countdown until completion. Shortly after it starts my connection goes "yellow", loss of connectivity. I tried disabling XP's built in firewall but that didn't help, my connection still drops out after a few seconds. I unistalled OFP/counter-strike, reinstalled both games and re-patched to no avail. The only thing that I can think of is to "blow-out" XP and start anew. Please help if you can. Thank you. P.S. Once (read:IF) I get this working I am still looking for people in S.Florida to play Co-Op.

If you all would be so kind as to point me in the direction of some missions for West forces, in a Co-Op setting, utilizing infantry (as opposed to using air/armor). I have noticed that most missions posted on-line are either for large squads or something other than infantry. Thanks.
