Explanation: Why does BattlEye need administrator privileges now?
MJK-Ranger replied to $able's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Or you can disable UAC once for all: http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1700644&postcount=11 http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1700645&postcount=12 -
Disable User Account Control VISTA Using Regedit 1. Open Registry Editor. 2. In Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System 3. Locate the following value (DWORD): EnableLUA and give it a value of 0. Regedit - Disable UAC Note: As always, before making changes to your registry you should always make sure you have a valid backup. In cases where you're supposed to delete or modify keys or values from the registry it is possible to first export that key or value(s) to a .REG file before performing the changes. 4. Close Registry Editor. You need to reboot the computer for changes to apply. In order to re-enable UAC just change the above value to 1. WINDOWS 7 Disable UAC Through the Registry Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click Enter. Navigate to the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System In the details pane, locate the EnableLUA key (REG_DWORD type). On the Edit menu, click Modify. In the Value data box, type 0 (zero), and then click OK. Exit Registry Editor, and then reboot the computer.

You all have to be sure you all are running 100% administrator. And make sure your Windows user have 100% Full Control in permission. And i always turn off/disable User Account Control (UAC)

MJK-Ranger replied to gimpymoo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
So you think the problem is BEServer.dll located on your Server? Everytime i join a server i got this message: Battleye Client: NOTE: BE requires administrator privileges to be able to detect all hacks running on a client's system I have been playing for almost one hour and no problem here. -
I'm using Steam and no problem here.

Well i don't have that problem with the newest Battleye. But i think you all need to set your BEClient.dll to run as administrator privileges c:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Local\ArmA 2 OA\BattlEye\ -

Running combined ops dedicated server beta?
MJK-Ranger replied to Cloughy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - Servers & Administration
Ok do you know how to make a bat file? Simple just make a new txt file inside your ArmA2 folder and change the .txt with bat, den edit your bat file. And add this line into it: "XXXX:\YOUR_ARMA2_INSTALL_FOLDER\Expansion\beta\arma2oaserver.exe" "-mod=ca" "-mod=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion" -nosplash -ADD_MORE_PARAMETERS Change the red mark to your real ArmA2 install folder The Blue mark, you can add more parameters you need for your server -
Steam Combined Operations Dedicated server issue
MJK-Ranger replied to Guy_2010's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Hi try this: "F:\arma2oa\arma2oaserver.exe" -port=2302 -cfg=arma2oa.cfg -config=server.cfg -profiles=player -mod=F:\arma2oa\arma2;EXPANSION;ca You can also try something else, copy your hole ArmA2 folder into your ArmA2:OA folder (This is how i run my server in Combined Operations) I made a bat file, called it ArmA2_CO_Start.bat, inside i add following line: "F:\arma2oa\arma2oaserver.exe" -port=2302 -cfg=arma2oa.cfg -config=server.cfg -profiles=player -mod=ca Your server expansion will look like this: ArmA 2:Operation Arrowhead; ArmA 2 And how to test and see if your server is running Combined Operation, edit your server.cfg and find: replace it with: And When you start your server now and you join it, you should be able to see all the maps for ArmA2 and ArmA2:OA in mission selection when you join. -

How to run Steam ArmA 2 + Steam OA + Beta Patches
MJK-Ranger replied to Aiky's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Hi. You only have the steam overlay if you only run ArmA2 or ArmA2:OA or ArmA2:CO, with beta patch, no steam overlay at all. The latest _runA2CO.cmd should have this line in your _runA2CO.cmd: "%_STEAMPATH%\steam.exe" -applaunch 33930 "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca" -
Install the latest beta patch for OA, and use the shortcut that comes with the update, located in your OA install folder. :)

MJK-Ranger replied to gimpymoo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
@USMCLuke Hi. There is an workaround for that Beta mod problem ;) Ok, let say your have OA beta folder installed here: g:\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\ Then copy everything inside the beta folder into your OA install folder: g:\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ < .----- here Then overwrite everything. Make sure you turn off auto update in your steam client for OA. It's a good idea to make a backup of those files that are gonna be overwritten. Now you can start your server as normal startup without the beta. -
Thank you soooo much Xeno:dance1:

[OA] Crash trying to assign a new key.
MJK-Ranger replied to 7's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
No beta patch are compatible with steam overlay. You can still install the beta patch and use the shortcut that are in your OA install folder after installing the beta. But your steam overlay is gone. -
Arma 2 OA frame skip (tried just about everything)
MJK-Ranger replied to tumble_dry's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
If you look at your HD led on your computer and see if it work at the same moment you got the LAG.. It's normally after a you start a new misison or whatever. My tricks on this is i move around 360 degrees 2 - 3 times. :) Then the lag is gone for me :) ArmA2 use lot of GPU power, CPU power and HD.
