Agree. For a simulator this is quite disturbing

Some good suggestions in here. First priority: get it working or give us the circumstances in which it should work. Second priority: add a config settings in the menu's which states "diminish all other sounds when voicecomm is used by yourself or other players". And implement this of course. Monk.

I'm sure most fans would benefit from such lists. It's been a week now, mods do your thing please Monk.

Great, great news. This will convince the remaining part of my clan to start playing arma. Once more I will happily run over some yanks in my Panzer Monk.

Arma is a niche game, just like Red Orchestra. It probably will never see a huge playerbase. Not that it's a problem
-
It's a known problem: Sprocket forgot to send the CD key to at least 2 other players I know. On the other hand: there are existing topics about this so you might as well post there. Monk.

It's a longshot, but try to disable Norton security products during installation or playing. Monk.

Gents, I'm making a so called vision board. For this board I need large pictures (good quality to print it on a A4 or A5). Where can I find a large quantity of free large photo's for download ? Most large photo's (like stock photo's) come with a price. I'm sure there must be some places where I can download it for free or almost free. Any suggestions ? Monk.

Well I know I would use gamecam. It's allways on and records the last x seconds so you'll never miss an important/sexy moment in arma Monk.

Addons - How to let joiners know?

Downloading content from servers shouldn't be such a big issue. Most major games have some sort of redirecting mechanism in which the players downloads the content from another file-server during connecting to the gameserver. I'm sure BIS must have thought this over. Let's hope they'll implement something similar soon. Monk. -
Excellent Falken. I will use this one when convincing my clanmates to buy arma. Monk.

Holland will invade Belgium. Basicly it's a language struggle. We will help the dutch speaking belgiums and therefore France will help the french speaking Belgiums. So a land conflict between the armies of France and Holland might be iminent Somewhere in that conflict our old colonies come in to help us: The ABC-islands will do a beachlanding in Normandy. Core 2 duo and 7950 GTX over here and no problems so far concerning performance (drop) between 1.04 and 1.05. Monk.

Servers can be rented. Hosting one yourself (a so called listen server) mostly depends on your connection (your upload bandwidht). If your clan has more then 5 members and you want to play bigger games: rent one. Monk.

Agree, diversity is what we need gentlemen.

Roger, scanning for servers with this one then.

I'm quite a noob with arma. Copied the mission file to my missions directory. I choose the mission in my SP missions. It won't start just mentiones "no player was selected" and I'm back at the menu again.. Maybe I'm doing something wrong and this mission can only be played on servers. Monk.

Very nice tool, thank you Some feedback: 1) sorting the server according to ping (clicking on the colum named "ping") gives some weird results. Not only are not all of them sorted according to ping, but also the servers without any known ping are shown first. I would suggest to show these servers last since their ping is uncertain. 2) it would be nice if one could filter the list. Filters about passworded servers, empty / full servers and/or ping below a certain value would be nice to have Greetingz, Monk.

Well I do know a company in Redmont which seems to do the same DRM always backfires upon those who have paid. Long live open source ! Hmmm, got carried away again Monk. -
Sorry to hear that Dragonfly. I'm almost certain that your 64 bit version of Vista is causing this. Looking at the various forumposts regarding vista 64 bit that could be your problem. Suggestions: 1) go back to XP 2) reinstall Vista but 32 bit this time 3) wait several months until better 64 bit drivers are released For your information: the company never mentioned Vista as being a possible gaming platform for arma, so I'm guessing they didn't test it on vista extensivly. This doesn't mean it cannot run on vista but there are no garantees it will. Good luck with reinstalling, I'm sure you'll try it out for such a promising game. Monk.

I bought arma 2 days ago. 1.04 ran fine and after patching it still runs fine. Dual core 6600 with 2Gb of internal memory in combination with a 7950GTX with 1 Gb of internal memory. Monk.
