  1. Hey everyone, I decided today to purchase a server from Jest servers. Everyone is welcome to join, I named it Realism PVP - ACE, untill i can think of something better. :) They are all custom pvp maps. 2 so far, and I will make more. I think they are interesting maps so far. Just need to figure out how to get rid of the default maps cluttering up the mission select screen. :p Hope to see some people in. Thanks Edit: Still getting some bugs in my missions, but working on them.

    Hey guys and gals So I decided to port Zargabad Life to the Fallujah mod. It worked out pretty well! Shezan74 did an awesome job on Fallujah. I thought it might be too big infact. But I plan to add more to make the size more manageable. The TCG guys did a great job on the zargabad life version they are running. Which is the same one i ported. So, it will be up and running the first version shortly. Please tell me or another admin of any bugs you find. The new server name is "United States Combined OPs".     Probably several ways, but you could give him an addAction. Inside the script would be, [unitname] joinSilent grpNull; Or use that same statement in a different way.

It seems so simple, and I've accomplished what seems like far more complicated things. However, I just cant get this to work! lol I've tried several different ways, and structures of the if variable, anything i could find searching or with wiki. Even declaring variables before the if statement and using those. No matter what I've done, the player always joins bravo. The script is activated from an action menu item. Rest of the script is working cept this bit. Any help would be much appreciated!
  7. The script is activated from an item with add action on it. I tried adding that code anyway, same thing happens. It's a USMC soldier, who is obviously already west. Something is wrong with the declaring the unit as west. Whats trying to happen is if blufor uses this action on the item, they join alpha. If Independant uses the action they join bravo. The squads exist already, so not sure whats going on.

    Put the @fallujah folder into the OA folder. If running combined ops through steam you need to edit the batch file that runs CO to start the mod. Don't forget theres 2 things to download for fallujah. Need the objects package as well.

    Merged zargabad warfare to this as well. A lot of fun! its up on my server atm, "United States Combined OP's". I hope benny makes an "official" version. :) Until then, my merged version works great. Again, great work on this map. Gonna check out insurgency too, thanks pogoman. Maybe I will have a warfare/insurgency fallujah rotation. lol

    Well, im 30 and i enjoy it. :) It does end up in a death match though. As an a side note, i had another idea. I thought of trying to port warfare to fallujah. So, im trying it now. Fallujah + warfare + ACE sounds appealing lol. As you can tell from my recent threads i got a server and have been trying lots of stuff. =p

    CO16 Insurgency

    I was trying this out single player just to see what it is all about. Is the above mentioned red kicking system the reason why i cant play as red alone? Of cource it cant kick me so it just hangs at loading screen. I am assuming this is why? Also like vega has said, I only saw one dude in town. Is it because of the ace? Would it help if it was edited and the ace modules were added, i didnt see them? Is ace like built into this thing or something? Sorry for the nub questions, just found this. =p

    Ok added a third map. Got most of the bugs fixed. Maps are playing correctly. We'll see if there any interest. Renamed server, "Combined OPs Realism PvP, Custom Maps. More Added soon! - ACE Required If there is no interest, not sure what to make. Is there a version of warfare with ACE?

    Sorry for the downtime for the people interested. I've never had a server, or tried to make maps for one before. So sorting out bugs and imbalances with maps and server. The maps wouldnt rotate, messing up some of the mission scripts. Think its sorted now, i hope....haha :) So if its down momentarily thats why, probably uploading mission changes or messing with server config. Got some great suggestions pertaining to the maps, from people on last night. Feel free to offer advice to help me balance them and make them more interesting!

    New PvP ACE server.

    Well i have been trying to be creative. 2 on there atm. First is like a escort VIP mission. One playable civ slot, needs to be escorted to extraction, with independant resistance. And a few twists. Second is a blackhawk down mission. 6 blue against 24 insurgents. I tried to balance it with weapons and time to get a foothold for blue. For example blufor has full ACE crates, while insurgents have what they spawn with. AK's, entfields. I hope to keep them coming. Get some even more interesting PvP maps up. At some point I'm wanting the server to be rotating like 10ish fun pvp maps. Having trouble figuring out autorotation of maps, since i've never had a server. So it should be up later, or tomorrow. Had to take it down because of some map bugs and the rotation thing. Good news is map bugs are done, i just need to get this thing to rotate maps =p ---------- Post added at 03:53 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:35 AM ---------- Ah i figured it out, it'll be up now :)

    Yes, I cant wait for PR myself. Good news though, I just bought a server from Jest servers. Gonna run my own custom maps with ACE running, all PvP. Should be up and running tonight once i figure out how to use it, lol. Will make a new topic when its up if the realism pvp folk are interested. :)

  20. :o Thanks, lots of stuff in there. lol Edit: one more thing. I was playing on a server at one point that gave a 500ish second timer to stay unconscious before dieing. Is that something that happens naturally at random, or do you stay unconscious for ever?
  21. Having trouble with the wounding system if anyone can help. Im trying to make a mp mission, and I cant seem to get it to work at all. I examine injured soldiers and he appears injured. The problem is, the "magic medic" is still there and the only way to heal. Also, you dont go unconscious when "killed". Therefor no revive. Is there some way to enable the whole thing, im missing? New to editing and have been up all night, sorry if this doesnt make any sense! :)

    How Active is Community?

    I just bought the game as well. Its a niche game, so the community reflects that. Like others said its not the size of your latest blockbuster shooter. I played ArmA 1, so i knew that. :) Theres plenty of pubs for you to start on learning the game, until you have time to get more involved. Warfare or domination servers are good places for casual players. I'd also recommend installing the ACE mod if you like realism. Dabble with that as well. My ONLY complaint with ArmA multiplayer, too much coop. For some reason the bulk of the community enjoys playing against AI. It's fun to an extent, but I would rather face real opponents. That bit about this community I will never understand. So if you prefer pvp, like me, it lacks in that area. There so many interesting things that could be done with the flexibility of this game in terms of pvp. Its strange that it is barley tapped. Anywho, still the best shooter out there. My complaints above are not enough to turn me away. The great thing about arma is, if you dont like something, you can change it! Make a mission, open a server, etc. Welcome!
  23. Hey guys, couple questions. Couple of my friends bought the OA expansion, and had told me there is hardly anyone playing the multi player non - co op maps. They were pretty disappointed. I had recommended it to them because ArmA one was really great, I had alot of fun playing it. Was about to buy number 2. I didn't really care for co op, but I loved the large scale multi player battles. Game mode escapes me atm. So If they bought the stand alone OA, is that separate from the ArmA 2 multi player? Are there more people playing vanilla version? Just curious whats up before I buy it. I understand its a niche game, but the amount of servers to choose from that they had explained, seemed really low. They could only find a couple with ~6 people in it. Did the game not take off or what?

    Ya CTI, that was it. They did see the players in the co op. Doesnt really interest us though. So people that bought OA are playing with the entire community? Buying stand alone, did not seperate them in any way, from regular ArmA II players? Will keep an eye out.

    Don't test it, don't complain about the bugs on release... Every bit of feedback is going to help them. Â Gotta support the team...
