Thanks. And good luck with the project. :)

I'm sure someone else will pick up the torch. The content I've been working on though, won't be thrown away. Just released under a different banner.

You shouldn't have any problems importing a 3ds into O2. I know the name says "P3dUnwrap".But it's primarily a Uv editor. For tweaking an existing unwrap.
-
I'm afraid that's an age old problem with models and animating in general.Unfortunately, fixing something like that, would take quite a while. Not to mention lots of patience. As O2's skin weighting is a bit clunky to use.Lots of going to and from Flashpoint,to O2,and back again.Just to see if it's working. It would quickly get frustrating. :)

I think he means the Apocalypse 3148 version you did,a while back. The sci-fi addons. With the pelican n warthog.

Veni Vidi Vici Mod (Romans and Barbarians)
Macser_old replied to ProfTournesol's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Amazing stuff Prof. And something very different.Which is a pleasure to see. :) -
Don't know of any p3d exporters for 3dsmax. Blender exports to 3ds.Which you can take into O2 to finalise.

I assume It's held in with scripts.Using the setpos command no doubt.Set to a relatively short loop. It's not by any means perfect. And comes with it's own set of problems.I think it's easier to get away with it on a ground vehicle than an aircraft, too.But even that can have problems with sharp turns, and going up hills. An age old OFP limitation. Impressive model by the way.I don't see anything wrong with a basic render. A good model is a good model.Regardless of lighting/shaders etc.

Ultimate Flashpoint Mod Previews and Videos
Macser_old replied to ultimateflashpoint's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I noticed some objects dissappearing in the background. That's probably related to the grass. It's possible it's using canocclude. If so try setting it to 0. BIS WIKI -
How do i add Add ons to Resistance
Macser_old replied to tilyard2's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Or just create a mod folder with an addons directory inside it.Then dump your custom addons in there. The Res folder is essentially a mod folder. Doing it this way, means you don't have to worry about accidently deleting BIS content.Putting stuff into the Res/Addons folder can also lead to problems.Same with the Operation Flashpoint/addons folder. -
Welcome to the forums. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=35268 That's a good place to start. Although you won't really be editing PBOs.It's the contents of them that are of interest to you. I use Pbox for opening up and packing my PBOs.Scroll down a bit to find it. :)

Operation Enduring Freedom - unofficial WGL expansion
Macser_old replied to chops's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Nice work Chops. It's been fun watching it develop. ;) -
:biggrin_o: Well, the phone and the work are real enough. I hope I didn't sound cranky,in that last post. That certainly wasn't my intent.

Hello Wiekniera, They won't look quite like those pics you posted. Not because I can't create content like that. It's just the Flashpoint engine has it's limitations.Especially with regard to lighting and materials. Besides that,I'm trying to keep the vertex and polycount to a minimum. In case anyone's wondering why it's taking so long. The answer is simple.I have not been working on this project day in and day out.Only when I can,and then, only when I have the interest. So I haven't actually been working on it for almost a year. That amount of time has simply passed by.Much like everyone else here,I have other interests and distractions. :)

How to fix Permanent Muzzle Flash bug?
Macser_old replied to mark2000's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Because Zulu1 already described how to correct the problem,if it exists in the config. I'm not being nasty. But a possible answer is no more than a few posts back. I think you're perfectly capable of trying out that solution yourself. Rather than having someone else do it for you,I simply thought you may learn something from finding the solution on your own.No offence intended. Look at your CfgModels section.Do you see any reference to the model PORMG3P3D.p3d? -
How to fix Permanent Muzzle Flash bug?
Macser_old replied to mark2000's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Unless it's the model itself, the problem is staring you in the face.Read what Zulu said earlier and then look at your CfgModels section again. -
I'll look into it.But let's not hijack Drongo's thread. :)
-
It won't.Drongo's referring to radio weapons, such as used in WGL. Not the physical representation of a radio.
-
Link seems to be ok.Perhaps it's net traffic or connection related. The models use their own t-pose.As normal OFP anims based on the RES civ,or standard West/East soldier are not really suited to the units. Dunke never designed them to be compatible with other mods. The WH40k animations simply fit better, because they have that t-pose in common. :)
-
I'd say the difficulty is ok as it is.It's challenging, but not to the point of frustration. You obviously put a lot of work into it,all round.I enjoyed it.Hope you've got some more in the works. :)

Welcome to the forums tilyard2. I know it's not what you wanted to hear, but I'd agree with STGN. There should be a few copies of the GOTY(Game of the year)edition still around. The original CWC will only give you problems with community content.A lot of which would be used online. :)
-
I'm not going to get involved at that end of things.Just pointing out that both paths have their pros and cons. :)
-
Ok.That's best done in a mod folder with a custom resource.bin. The following is nothing more than my opinion. As far as addons vs mods. It's nice to be able to drop an addon into any folder. But personally I don't see the need for everything to be inter-compatible.It's not always the best option if you're going for quality.Mod folders do offer you a little more flexibility,in some areas. :)
-
Very nice. It's more accurate than you might think, and has a reaction from the troops too. :)
-
That's the likely candidate,as DAS isn't a "resource hog". :) For me at least,I obviously reduced the viewdistance the next time I tried to reproduce the FPS drop. While at the same time setting the smoke marker to false. It looked like the two were related.Doh!
