Love how we have to use planes as Stuka dive bombers.

With AI it's a different story. It can work. If really.
-
That's just counter productive for gameplay. In most cases you don't have enough players to run a full logistics simulation next to the combat simulation.

ARMA II Beta Builds Released: Latest version/build: 1.04.6xxxx
MehMan replied to mattxr's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
They will remove CD checks at the very least. They always have after a certain ammount of time. With OFP it was with the last patches, with ArmA it was with 1.14. -
Those evil Americans and their wish to fix things at home! How selfish of them.
-
My personal opinion is: great, didn't like the idea of the shield. I'm all for economic ties with the USA(ok well maybe not right now, but it hasn't been a bad expirence all in all) and joint military training, passing on expirence etc., a US led base isn't exactly up my street, even less ICBM interceptors.

Mouse lag fix still doesn't fix the mouse turning ratio
MehMan posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
when I say turning ratio, I mean the speed with which you have to turn the mouse to complete a 360° turn or 180° turn. In my example, I put the mouse on one end of the mousepad. I slowly move the mouse to the other end and before I reach the middle of the mousepad(far from it) I've made a 180° turn(if I continue moving the mouse slowly to the other side of the pad I make a 720° turn) . Now if I move the mouse rapidly from one end of the pad to the other, I reach the halfway point and I've done a 60° turn. This has been pointed out a few times by several people and I think it's worth having a look into and fixing it. Turning off mouse pointer precision does nothing, tested. -
Mouse lag fix still doesn't fix the mouse turning ratio

You're still missing the point. I just want it back like it was in OFP. You know, where this very system work flawlessly and it still didn't make the game into a fragfest. -
Oh that, hmm, indeed, why does he rest the gun, that's something I've noticed, but hasn't really bothered me. You need to unrest yourself. A bit strange.
-
You do? I thought you stopped. I probably just stopped pressing my keys, heh.
-
Hmm? You stop now when you get the map out. Totally awsome. Serious. Because you need your hands to get the map out.

Bad sound quality? Presenters with slurry speech? Somebody keeps moving away from the mic? What is it man, TELL US!

No offense to Ryujin, but Viiiper isn't the most reliable and unbiased source ever. And also, I think there has been a few things to show that the developers view of "as customizable as OFP" wasn't the same as ours. We were thinking total conversions and using only the engine, while they were thinking of the mission editor. There was a maybe at best for modding tools. And even if you can make apis, I have a hard time believing that you'll be able to make more than a few models, I have my doubts that making a custom island is going to be possible. And all that boasting about streaming technology and then making the player trapped in a box...undermines the point of streaming technology and makes you wonder about it. And I've yet to see more than 10 chars on screen at once.

“liberation 1941-1945
MehMan replied to zenger's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Again, what did FF studio provide you with? If there's my stuff in there, I'd just like to be credited. -
If there was, it was kinda spoiled by the rambo ending.
-
How can it make you cry or sad? Where was the sad part?
-
You can never win the game. From the moment you started playing the game you lost it. lurk moar.
-
That I can easily live with. The biggest problem I have is that I feel like it's messing up with the regular aiming. It all just feels odd in ArmA/ArmA2(felt completely fine in OFP) compared to other FPS's. Part of it can be atributed to the mouselag and part to this. And I'm not talking about waving my gun around the whole screen, but just small ones. It can still get a bead on things, but it all just feels like it's covered in honey or something. Dunno, maybe it's just me?
-
ArmA2 will still be a slow game after this change, it's not going to change, but when needed you can turn around quickly. I don't see why all the fuss. There's still a ton more to be done to make ArmA2 a fast game. And I really don't see the point, as it worked perfectly well in OFP, so I don't understand why it shouldn't work in ArmA2.

The problem I'm having isn't FPS related. High or low FPS, turning speed is still shit.
