  1. I'm having problems with low fps is it my settings or should I get a ew box(computer)

    P4 2ghz

    geforce fx5500

    2gig ram

Buy an newer video card, as the FX5500 is way to slow to handle any newer games.

It must be at least an GeForce 6600GT, or above, any older card will not help that much.

  2. I just recently found out, that the kickduplicate option doesn't work anymore. I have got ArmA installed on both my PC and my laptop, the later mostly used as a dedicated for LANs. Last time my friend didn't bring his PC but couldn't play because of the duplicate key error. The server config worked fine, except this command.

We now know this and he brings his reg-key next time, but it would be nice if kickduplicate worked again.

It is no "duplicate key error" when you run two rigs with one copy of ArmA.

btw. I would not try to do that at all, to avoid activating fade or whatever it`s called in ArmA. wink_o.gif

  3. Germany has persistent trouble with Neo Nazi's.

It also has prominant politicians who deny the holocaust occoured. They all get together with the Arhmajadinebad and have little holocaust denial seminars and stuff.

And what prominent politicians would that be namely?

You go to jail here in Germany, for denying the holocaust in public.

I don`t know of even one single prominent politician here, that is denying that the holocaust had happened.

If you claim something like that, provide names and an reliable proof to that claim.

  4. There is something wrong with ULTOC Campaign, no magazine taken from an ammo box can be used.

Once i put my gun in ammo box and try to replace it with something else i`m screwed, because whatever i try i can`t get the ammo working for any of the weapons.

When i take an M16 out of an Box it will not give the ammo automatically for the assigned slots, when i pickup the mags i can`t load them.

This is the first time i have such problem in ArmA. huh.gif

  5. I would not say 49°C are too hot. wink_o.gif

And other hardware demanding games worked for hours without that problem.

It is an bug in their drivers.

After i installed the latest AGP hotfix drivers with catalyst 8.7 included not one game could start. And it was the Hotfix for the 3000 series.

    Edit:

Not only that not one game would start, for every game i started i got an instant reboot.

  6. What do we learn of that? wink_o.gif

Likewise, Ive heard too many horror stories about ATI cards and in particular their drivers to consider getting one myself. That's not to say that nVidia are 100% bug free, rather that youre more likely to get a reliable card if you go nVidia. I will be particularily interested to see what Intel's entry into the high end Graphics market will be like.

That's just bs. Both have their problems, but AMD has better drivers than nvidia these days. I have heard horror stories from nvidia cards, if someone has had a faulty card it doesn't mean every card is faulty. You aren't more likely to get a more reliable card from nvidia. Both has faulty cards.

I only have bad experiences from nvidia cards, especially the drivers, but every ati card has worked 100% flawlessly for me.

How can it be a faulty card when the same function that is causing an reboot in one game, works with much higher settings in every other game?

If there where an problem with the AA of the Card, i had returned that thing the next day.

What you call bs, can be called experience. And that is what i´ve gathered over the years. wink_o.gif

  7. Not sure if I asked you before, but what are the rest of the specs of your PC?

    Me?

AthlonXP 3200+, 2GB PC3200 Ram in dual channel mode, creative audigy 2. OS: Vista and WinXP.

With my GeForce back in my rig it works as always, no strange rebootes anymore. smile_o.gif

A friend of mine had bought an Radeon HD2600 last week, now guess what.

CTD`s, rebootes and nothing but trouble.

He`s back on his old GeForce again and everything works fine.

We both have PSU`s that are capable to run those ATI cards.

I have installed XP from scratch, installed all new drivers for all parts of the system, and what for?

I formated my Win2K Prof. installation for this, because there are no official Win2K drivers for those ATI card, to avoid the problems that i still got afterwards.

Now mine, and that PC of my friend works without strange problems again, only because we switched back to our old Nvidia cards.

What do we learn of that? wink_o.gif

  8. Not only that.

I used only Nvidia cards before for some years, guess why.

I had enough with the bad experience with some ATI cards years ago. After that nearly no problem at all with my Nvidia cards (GeForce 4 MX400, GeForce 4TI4200, GeForce FX5900XTV, GeForce 6600GS) and last but not least my current card: Geforce 7600GS 512MB.

The Radeon HD3600 is very fast for an AGP card, but what is all this power good for, when an basic function like Anti Alias rebootes my PC in one of my favorite games.

If they can`t provide proper drivers for AGP cards, why did the build that bridge chip that translates PCI-E>AGP?

I don`t spent my money for that, and never had an Nvidia driver that was that crappy as many ATI drivers.

  9. I put in my old Geforce 7600GS again, those ATI drivers for newer AGP based cards are nothing but crap.

While ArmA was running great with everything maxed up, Oblivion with Anti Alias had rebooted my PC.

And there was no driver that that could do it, not even those from Guru3D.

I´ll return that card on Monday, i need hardware that can run my games. mad_o.gif

  10. I wonder when they catch Bush, Blair and Cheney.

Why did i knew beforehand, that i`ll find exactly this post in this thread. icon_rolleyes.gif

Good that they have him, he had too much support from high ranking people. Else they would had him much earlier.

  11. Nice to see how good this mod progress, especially as i won`t have a the rig to play ArmA II when it comes out.

But i`m very glad how ArmA runs on my current machine, so i have no problem to not buy ArmA II asap. smile_o.gif

This is one of the mods that will give ArmA some extra lifetime, and not little of it. thumbs-up.gif

  12. Well, here are my PC specs, and I need "counseling" in this one:

    Intel Core2 Duo 2x2.33Ghz

    Winfast PX8600GT TDH 256 GDDR3

    DirectX 10

    4 GB Ram

    Vista ( confused_o.gif )

So, can anyone tell me why is it running perfectly at LOW (set on everything?)? And can you guys help me on how to improve that??

It should run fine on high to very high.

I used an GeForce 7600GS 512mb GDDR2 to play ArmA on Vista Home Premium 32bit, and especially with patch 1.14 the game runs great.

    Other Specs:

    AthlonXP 3200+, 2GB PC3200 Ram in dual-channel mode, Creative Audigy 2.

    Edit:

Have you installed the SP1 for Vista, if not do that asap. wink_o.gif

  13. I received my new video card yesterday, and now ArmA runs better on Vista than i have dreamed of.

It`s an ATI Radeon HD 3650 with 1024MB RAM, an AGP card that supports DX10.1. smile_o.gif

The only problem i have now with that card is, there are no official drivers for Win2K. I hope i can get that Omega driver to work on Win2K. huh.gif
