How to retrieve the javelin missile
Mr_Tea replied to Hymes's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Don`t be afraid to use the editor. Many things are much easier to do than you may think. -
I`m afraid it will take some more time until the X-FI drivers are bug free. They build fine hardware, but need way too long to release 100% working drivers.
-
Don`t say that the Hardware Acceleration does not work, it works for me. That means nothing i`m afraid, as i`m most probably the only ArmA-Player that still use Win2K.

Helicopters circling at waypoints
Mr_Tea replied to HighWire's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I don`t remember the correct max hight that the waypoints work, but i used mostly 30 meters, what worked. -
Nvidia dos not build the graphic cards, they only develop the new GPU and make working samples. What the manufacturers are building is more or less close to the standard layout, and GPU and VRAM speed. So there is a big difference between the cards from different manufacturers.

Helicopters circling at waypoints
Mr_Tea replied to HighWire's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I think the OFP AI did not recognize waypoints if they are flying to high. They fly to that point, but are too far away of the waypoint, because of the hight they are flying at. If you let them fly low enough every waypoint should work. -
That`s some pretty cool stuff. That people loose their "connection" to the real live already happens with the technology of today. People are glued to their PC and play WOW (for example ) for far too long, so that`s not really a matter of available technology.

I´m waiting for the release of Project 1985, and the CWR mod. That´s what i want, no WW2 (sick of it), no Vietnam, no Iraq War settled theme.
-
I use to play ArmA an Audigy 2 value, EAX-enabled with 5.1 surround without any problems.
-
Noe.pbo? Go for it. That`s what i like to see in ArmA too.
-
Use the maxmem parameter to let ArmA use more system ram. It must not, but can be helpful. Try -maxmem1024, that should help.

That`s why i don`t call someone who`s fast, make many kills, is hard to kill an CS Kid. As i posted, most of them don`t like ArmA, because they can`t go anywhere by foot (in time). Rhamadi is bigger than the biggest CS map, they can`t get used to must use vehicles. If you play deathmatch in tiny areas of the map, you can`t expect another outcome than that an CS player can handle the situation very well.
-
My definition of CS Kids (i know some of them in person). CS player: "What, you need a vehicle to get to the target, or must be sneaky for more than one minute? " That alone is too much for most of the CS players. ArmA is another world for them, that most of them will not enter.

I prefer to use my 32" LCD in 16:9, no need for two screens. If you want an multi-monitor setup, find enough space to place 3 identical flatscreen-monitors. Triplehead is supported by ArmA, but what hardware is required? With 3 monitors, you would have the center of you´re fov on one monitor. Imho the only way to use more than one monitor.

Make sure to uninstall the drivers for the onboard audio.
-
Hmm, i think the 6000 series, if not before that.
-
Check for newer OpenAL drivers.
-
Bullshit. The driver/software support of creative is terrible, but once functional drivers are out, their soundcards works very well. If you have bought the soundblaster live, bad luck. All other of their cards work fine. I only experienced all sorts of problems with other soundcards, but never had problems with any Soundblaster, not even the first one which came out ages ago. Edit: Integrated audio causes the most performance problems, there is a reason that i still use my old Audigy 2 instead of my 7.1 onboard sound.

I`d like to see something like this for ArmA 2, if i would by it is needless to ask.
-
If we want to see this, we would have to do it self. It does not matter how hard we want it, as BIS is working on ArmA 2. To answer the question clearly: No, there absolutely no chance, that we get something like this from BIS. At least not for this game, maybe in an ArmA 2 expansion. Edit: It is a known fact, that the setting of ArmA 2 not includes pacific isles.
-
Than you should go for the X-Fi Extreme Gamer, thought the Audigy2 was cheaper, but it`s hardly to find.
-
There should be some servers, that allow you to play XAM 1.4. Not exactly what you asked for, but have you tried the XAM mod?
-
Complex islands with much details, not too small area, are using many many man hours to be finished. How do you think they have time for this as they work on ArmA 2?
