I can play ArmA on high settings with my 7600GS 512MB AGP card, but agree that the RAM needs to be upgraded. A sound card instead of probably in use onboard-sound will give you better performance too.

Unfortunately, that is nothing more than a nice theory. The money goes directly into the leaders purse, and in fundings to the military. The theory show how it should be, but to be honest, who thinks that is the way how things work for real?

From this days on, big companies will think twice before they put millions of dollars into projects, that one day might be lost because the local government claims all rights on that investment. In short time we will have cars that don`t need fuel to burn. The oil rich countries may than take a bath in their oil, and fill balloons with their gas. I don`t own a car atm., and the next one i buy will be powered by electricity.

I guess, put the pbo in any "active" mod-folder, ore the addons-folder.

Can't open CWC campaign missions in the editor
Mr_Tea replied to MattyDienhoff's topic in TROUBLESHOOTING
If the files are correctly unpbo èd it must work. Don`t forget that you need all files from the unpacked mission, not only the mission.sqm. I have edited the resistance missions about 2 years ago, and it worked. -

In the end it is cheaper to buy a private notebook for modding, than get kicked out of the job for doing it on the work loptop. As is said before, the Reg. entries alone can break your neck. You should not take any risk when it comes to the job, modding is not worth loosing the job.

The registry entries are one of the first things you look for, when you check a PC for installed games. So if Gnat would edit the registry with that entries, he can install the game. There is no difference between those ways, install and delete the not needed files, or put the info in the registry.

As it was already said, PP is good for taking pictures or making movies. But it`s nothing i want to play with. I have tested it, but disabled it very quickly, even before i could have noticed an drop in the performance.

I tested ArmA in v.1.12 beta with Vista Home Premium 32Bit SP1, and was surprised of the performance i got. Oblivion (TES IV) is nearly unplayable on Vista, and has more than double performance when i start it with Win2K Prof. SP4. btw. I can only speak for the sp part of ArmA, as i don`t play online.

A.C.E CWC Island Pack - beta-1 release
Mr_Tea replied to .kju's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
It`s the "ace_island_select_texture.hpp" in the data folder, that can be opened with any text editor. -

Is there really not one bit of grass on any of that islands? I checked the complete "OFP-World", but there is no grass. -
Simply use 1.12, even if it`s called beta it works absolutely fine. It will be installed like a mod, so you still can use the final after installing 1.12 beta.

A.C.E CWC Island Pack - beta-1 release

Thanks for the Beta 2, will test asap. -
You would be nearly deaf, if three mg-gunners firing next to you and you don`t wear ear protection. It`s totally fine this way. The ArmA sounds are too weak in many areas, for playability reasons is assume.

I use an 32" LCD TV without problems, no drivers needed to do so. The screen, as yours, do have an native resolution. The resolution that you choose in the control panel, and in ArmA, must match this native resolution. That`s all.

I don't understand the logic behind rank points.
Mr_Tea replied to PheonixFury's topic in ARMA - MULTIPLAYER
Double that, and because of that i play SP exclusively. And that is getting better day by day, as ArmA works very well with 1.12, and more and more addons are available. -
Time to play with OFrP stuff again, fantastic. I`ve loved the OFrP OFP addons, and surely will fall in love to these too. Thank you.

I can't add empty playable vehicles?
Mr_Tea replied to submdi's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
You can`t place an empty vehicle, before you have placed a least one unit of any type, that can be counted as "Player". -

You have to place the player at first, than it works. -
Graphical problems and weird stability
Mr_Tea replied to tzvetoslav's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Nothing like this on my side. The only "strange" thing is, that i sometimes can look under the texture when i`m crawling uphill. Tested with 1.12 on Win2K Prof. and Vista Home Premium. Have you tried the -maxmen switch with different values? -
Good to hear. I want that mean beast, really.
-
With what system spec`s did it run smooth? Not all ArmA players (me included), do have the latest hardware. ArmA works very well, but one unoptimized addon in use can change much.

Have you ever experienced, how loud it is is if someone is crawling around in a silent night? I doubt that, else you would know that a person that`s crawling around is far from being noiseless.
